Equation of Bhaskara

Hello

I'm trying to understand how things works in HP first and I'm putting the complete (if possible) equation of Bhaskara, in order to get results for x' and x 'at the same time. Not use an equation for one and one for the x. second if possible at the end I want to click on the chart and get the results. I was wondering to put the equation AX ^ 2 + bx + c and run the my equation for results. Is - this possinle? Anyone know where I can find something?

Thank you

  • FIRST HP: Solving a system of linear equations with a parameter

    Hello

    I know how to solve a system of linear equations by using a setting by hand but I don't know how to set up in the calculator.

    Can someone please help me solve the system of linear equations below with a 'p' on the first HP Calculator next parameter?

    2 x + 8z = 26

    4 x-4y-14z = - 38

    8 x - 4y + 2z = 14

    The answer to the above equations is:

    x = 13 - 4, =(45-15p)/2, z = p y p

    Thank you

    Arthur

    Hello

    What you're trying to solve is not really a system of equation with a parameter, but you try to solve a set of 2 equations with 2 variables (x and y).

    The case solve command can do for you.

    According to the CASE, type:

    Solve ([(2*x+8*z) = 26,(4*x-4*y-14*z) = - 38,(8*x-4*y+2*z) = 14], [x, y])

    Come in

    and the calculator will return

    {[-4 * z + 13, 15/2 * z + 45/2]}

    which is what you want.

    The digital Solver is an iterative Solver and it will be always rough.

    For exact solutions, try the symbolic Solver SOLVEVX or SOLVE (white left SHIFT S.SLV, SOLVEVX or SOLVE)

    (for symbolic calculations, make sure that X (or whatever variables) are deleted / do not exist)

    0) the kommata are not used in vectors and expressions algebraic needs '

    (1) the sign "^" is reserved the power of a basis: 2 ^ 3 = 8

    (2) the power of a vector (and the exponent as a vector ether) is not declared in mathematics

    (3) the vector brakets are a kind of supersturcture. You can use for each component of the vector of an algebraic expression, but not the reverse: the expression: ['A' 'B' 'C'] [1 2 3] + is reduced just in time for: ['1 + A' '2 + B' ' 3 + it] when you press ENTER.

    It is so logic your equation for an entry for each component: ['A1 = B1 +(-C2*W)' 'A2 = B2 + W * C1' 'A3 = B3'] (I guess "^" means CROSS)

    These three equations are linear and if you put the vector

    ['A1 = B1 +(-C2*W)' 'A2 = B2 + W * C1' 'A3 = B3'] on battery (2)

    and for example ['A1' 'W' 'C1'] on battery (1), you can use LINSOLVE to solve

  • The first (emulator) HP: HP Premium differential equations

    Hello

    I'm looking a calculator with AC for my electrical engineering studies and just tested

    the first emulator to get a first impresseion.

    But while testing its features, I got some results of unexpectet on differential equations,
    that I would be confirmed on a calculator of real world.

    A simple as equation y' = x

    CODE: desolve (diff (y) = x, x, y)

    wait-> x ^ 2/2 + C

    First HP-> 1/2 * (x ^ 2 + 2 * C).

    The result is correct, but nobody would write it down in this way, nor would one solve it how works the first.

    A little more difficult equation could not be resolved by the premium: 2 x ^ 3 * (1 + y ^ 2) = y'

    CODE: desolve (2 * x ^ 3 *(1+y^2) = diff (y), x, y)

    wait-> y = tan (1/2 * x ^ 4 + C).

    First HP-> could not resolve the implicit equation

    It is not an implicit equation, the two WolframAlpha (iOS) and CASES of TI (iOS) could also resolve this one)

    And last but not least: y' * sin (x) = y * ln

    CODE: desolve (diff (y) * sin (x) = y * ln (y), x, y)

    wait-> y = e ^ (C * tan (x/2))

    First HP-> y = e ^ (sqrt (cos (x) ^ 2-1) / (C * cos (x) + C))

    I don't know what made the CASE here, but there is no reason to use the Pythagorean trigonometric identity.

    Would be nice if someone with a premium could conifrm/refute these results or tell me what I've done
    evil.

    Hello

    The latest version of premium can solve your 2nd test case (desolve ((2 * x ^ 3 *(1+y^2)) = (y'), x, y))

    However, the results for 1 and 3 test cases are the same that you tested.

    I will pass the info to the person who develops the CASE and if all goes well he will be able to improve it.

  • Main calculator HP cannot solve simple equation

    Hello

    I am trying to solve

    solve ((2) ^ (x) = x ^ 2, x)

    But the calculator cannot solve, or I do something wrong?

    I lost my TI Nspire CX and I have HP 1, is from a recent modern version, have been able to resolve something simple that I'm wrong. (TI Nspire resolved).

    How to solve the above equation using the first HP? I seriusly thinking to return it back.

    Thank you

    After that I played with the calculator, I found there in the CASE of the environment so that the Solver to work, if the fsolve is used in the home environment, it won't work:

    fsolve (2 ^ x = x ^ 2, x,-10.. 10)-> [-.76664695962 2 1.8]

    nSolve works too, but it does not have an interval.

    So the solution is that these commands should be used in environmental CASES.

    Thank you

  • 50g - unable to resolve a simple system of equations

    It's very easy to do on my Casio FX115-ES, but I can't understand how do on the 50 g for the life of me. I am trying to solve a simple system of equations, illustrated below, for a static engineering courses.

    (F1) sin (30) + (F2) sin (30) - 6 * cos (20) = 0

    (F2) cos (30) - (F1) cos (30) - 6 * sin (20) = 0

    I know it's a simple problem and I can do it by hand, but we'll soon be solve systems with 3 + unknowns. I love the RPN, so I need to be able to quickly resolve these systems on the 50g. I have read the books and searched the Internet for 30 minutes and I swear that nothing I do works. I can't add the words sin() and cos() in a matrix. Solve the paintings, num, s address, m solve... None of this works! I know it's user error, but I have no idea where to start.

    Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Bill

    The unusual notation is shake me up.  Are variables F1 and F2?  If so, we will replace by X and Y and rewrite your system in the standard format:

    Sin (30) * X + sin (30) * Y = 6 * cos (20)

    -cos (30) * X + cos (30) * Y = 6 * sin (20)

    There are many ways to solve this system on the 50g.  How I find simpler (less keystrokes) is by dividing the constant vector by the matrix of coefficients.  There are several ways to do it too, but it's my favorite.

    First of all, make sure your 50g is in approximate mode: while holding down the button to the right, press repeatedly until you see the "~" annunciator instead of "is", then release the button to the right.

    It goes without saying, you must also be in degree mode, so if the first anunciator said RAD, run DEG to change to DEG.

    Now, press the MTRW (['] left shift) to start the MatrixWriter application.

    First enter the vector of constants:

    20 COS 6 * ENTER

    20 SIN 6 * ENTER ENTER - > see [5.638... point 2.052...] on the stack.

    Now enter the matrix of coefficients:

    ENTER 30 FISHING

    ENTER 30 FISHING

    down-cursor left, cursor left, cursor

    ENTER 30 COS [+/-]

    30 COS SIMULTANEOUSLY on KEYS-> see the matrix of coefficients in the stack.

    Divide then: /--> see [4.45... 6.82...], which is [X, Y], the answer.

    If you want exact solutions (and not just the decimal approximation), do all the foregoing in exact mode (sign '=').   Don't forget to put each algebraic expression in single quotes marks.  You can use the MatrixWriter, or you can just type it directly into the battery like this:

    ['6 * COS (20)' '6 * SIN (20)'] Come in

    [["SIN (30)" "SIN (30)', ' - COS (30)" "COS (30)"]]

    /-> of simplified solutions

    A way to simplify these is:

    OBJ→ DROP EVAL (see Y on the stack)

    SWAP EVAL (see X on the stack)

    Exact solutions are 6 * cos (20) ± 2⎷3 * sin (20).

    There are many other methods to solve systems on the 50 g, each with its own entrance of syntax.  Don't forget to single quote each algebraic expression whenever you are in RPN mode.

    Hope that helps!

  • First HP, equations Solver

    Hello

    I'm having some difficulties with my first HP Calculator. I received early in the week. I use it with my TI - 89 Titanium to see how to compare the different functions. The problem lies in when I tried to use the Solver of equations to solve for a variable uknown. I know that this must back me two responses, one around of 383 and the other around 1410, both of my 89 coming back from these responses, and the solution for my problem is in the back of my book and it lists both here. Does anyone know how to solve this? I think that such a "beast" than the first must be able to do something so simple.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Please try to use nSolve(YourEquation,a=1..nn), while being in CAS mode. (nSolve since looking digital answers)

    Using a = 1.2000 gives a list of {387.092637878, 1410.5095324}. If you think several roots, it's pretty cool to use a range as a guess.

    Make sure that you use lowercase 'a' in the equation in order to avoid the "Bad Argument value", also make sure that the CASE is set to degrees.

    You can also connect to hpmuseum.org where the calculator is at length.

    Hope this helps

  • Just me, or is the 50g low in solving differential equations?

    Hi all

    I used Ti-89 s widely in the past, as well as the Ti-NSpire CX CASE and now the 50 g for about 1.5 years. I love some aspects of the 50g (sensation of keys, ease of unit, RPN conversion), but I can't help but notice some areas where it reallllly hangs out of the competition.

    It is an example that I really noticed recently in solving differential equations. So far, several examples I've tried (all immediately resolved by my Ti - 89 and Nspire CX CASE), the 50g smothered on each.

    A very simple example: solve y "= - 9.8, with boundary conditions y (0) = 2.9 and y'(0) = 3.8.  This can be solved by hand in about one minute, but the 50g can't do. If I input ['d1d1Y (X) =-9.8' ' Y (0) = 2.9 ' ' d1Y (0) = 3.8 '] in level 2 on the stack, then 'Y' on a level and then run desolve, it returns "Error: Undefined result.

    I missing something here, or is - this really unable to resolve such a differential equation based? I thought that advanced and 'better' mathematical capacity HP CASE was meant to be one of the reasons why it takes precedence over offers from Ti, but I must say, so far I do not see that.

    Josh

    Hello

    After you have given the initial estimates for A, B, C and D, you are indeed taken on-screen host, but with the menu soft of MODA.

    If you look at the example provided with MODA, you must make the curve fitting iterations (using LEMA - e.g. [LEMA] x, where x is the number of iterations that you want to try - the Chi ^ 2 result is acceptable low).

    Then you can do [CONSPIRACY] to see if the editing seems good.

    Out [CONSPIRACY] and then use [SPAR] to display the values of A, B, C and D. You then build the equation using the model you have chosen and the values of A, B, C and D.

    Good luck!
