Equium A100 - 338 will not start

Hello everyone I have an Equium A100-338. I bought it in Ireland a little one there.
Well although it is just out of warranty and it won't start.
The blue light comes on and the hard drive light comes on for a second, and nothing happens.

I tried to disconnect the battery a few times. Would not at all light up the screen.
I plugged the machine on an external monitor but not luck.

Suggestions people?

A new motherboard is a part of portable more expensive so buying a new motherboard is always a costly affair.
Maybe you should look for some motherboards of second hand on Ebay

  • Equium A100-338 does not start the OS Vista - update Bios?

    Hi guys,.

My laptop (a few months) decided to die and was told by tech support that it might be because of the BIOS. The problem is that the computer does not start the operating system (Vista) and the update of the BIOS available only is the version of windows. Are there any other mirror to get the traditional update or even a way to convert a the update the BIOS from Windows startup disk?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you can see that one version of BIOS on Toshiba page then only one version exists and is available!

    > The problem is that the computer does not start the Vista operating system
I don t think that BIOS could be responsible for this problem.

You must first provide more info on this problem!
The laptop goes to home Toshiba screen? Have you tried to recover the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD?

    Please provide details!

  • Equium A100-147 would not start

Equium A100-147 would not start. Only the lights next to the CapsLock F10 F11 keys are on. When the switch is pushed the lights disappear back only after about 15 seconds.

    Help, please.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery. After doing this press the power for 30 seconds. Wait a few moments, connect the power adapter only and try to start your laptop.

What happens when you do this?

  • Equium A100-338 does not recognize 4 GB RAM

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite A100-338 which had 32-bit Vista Home Premium on when I first bought several years ago. I upgraded from 2 to 4 GB memory soon after getting the laptop but it would use only 3 GB. Recently, I upgraded the operating system to 64-bit Windows 7 Professional which is workng all very well, except that the system is still only making use of 3 GB of installed RAM.

It doesn't seem to be much in the way of updates the driver of Windows 7 on the Toshiba site for this model. I tried the OS independent BIOS update available, but this did not complete because it was impossible to load a driver of my AppData folder file.

Someone at - he had a similar experience or could offer some advice?

    > Recently, I upgraded the operating system to 64-bit Windows 7 Professional which is workng all very well, except that the system is still only making use of 3 GB of installed RAM.

BIOS recognizes the full 4 GB of RAM?
Check it! You can access the BIOS by pressing F2 when starting upwards.

You can also check the RAM available in DirectX. In RUN (or search) type DXDIAG

  • Equium P200-139 - will not start

Got a P200 does not start.

Blue light turns on and sounds like its gunna start up but the screen remains black and the often turns after a few minutes. So basically I can't even in the computer to try to fix the problem

    Grant... .do ideas?

    Hey,.

If you think that the boots of laptop but you don t see something, I would like to connect an external monitor in your case. So, you can check if the notebook starts really or not and if so, you can see what is the reason.

If the external monitor is also black I would try this:
-Remove the battery and the AC adapter
    -Wait at least an hour
-Reconnect AC/DC adapter and install the battery
-Make sure the battery is fully charged
    -Try to start the laptop

  • Equium A60-155 will not start

    Hello

I have an Equium a60-155, that I knew that she works for a while, but recently I came with a new poroblem... my laptop guard turn off without notice and loses all power.

The battery has been dead for some time and lasts about 5 seconds, but I've been using the AC adapter.

Recently, she stops and even the LED lights for the power/battery adapter / is not on.

At first I thought it was the fuse in the adapter which could have been blown so I replaced it, and it started to work again, but then after a few minutes, it stops and lost all power.

I had this during the last days and I noticed that it regains power when I unplug the power adapter from the mains supply and remove the fuse and put it back in but his lasts only for a few minutes.

I don't know if it is a hardware problem or I just need a new adapter. Someone at - it similar problems and can offer any adivce?

    Hello!

What do you think that the laptop is overheating? I don't know, but if so the laptop would also immediately turn off m.
So, try to clean the laptop with a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. So you don't have to disassemble the laptop.

If it doesn't help it's really hard to say what the reason is for this maybe you should bring the laptop to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Equium A100-147 will not connect wireless Internet!

    Hello
For these last months that my cell phone was able to connect to internet, I think I must have downloaded a virus that deleted the necessary drivers for the wireless card to work, it is still all access points, but it does not connect.

I tried to reinstall the operating system (Media Center) a few times - that didn't work, and now I have some drivers that I got from my computer on a toshiba Web site - they don't work anymore.

I'm stuck now because I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works, so I hope I can get some good advice on here :D
    Thank you

    Hello

I really put t understand why the installation of the OS is so hard :(
You have received the Toshiba Recovery CD. On this CD all the drivers and tools are already preinstalled.
You insert this CD into the CD/DVD to boot from the CD drive and the installation will begin. After 10-15 min the installation will end and the laptop should be ready for use.

Then configure the WLan access again (encryption, SID, MAC address, etc.) and enjoy.

Just noticed in my bios it says hard disk = none?

    Hello!

What Satellite laptop do you have?

I think that your HARD drive is defective, but you can check with the Drive Fitness Test.
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
Download the image, burn it to a disk and boot from it.

    Good bye

  • Equium A60-155 will not start on the recovery CD

    Hey,.

Just got a computer satellite phone of second hand from a friend who has been upgraded - gave me for free because it doesn't seem to work properly (he thought was a problem of HARD drive).

I replaced the HARD drive (with one I formatted on my desk but an envelope that I have for it) and have the recovery DVDs, but I can't do anything with the machine... when I turn on I only get to the Toshiba logo screen and does not go any further (with the exception of time weird when I get a blank screen)... now the C button or trying to get into the BIOS (tried hold ESC F1) (, F2 or F12) does not work.

I opened the machine and everything is correctly connected - the DVD player also seems to be spinning and reading the disc, but nothing loads of it.

Anyone know what this could be and what I can do to fix it, or is it a lost cause?

    Thanks for any help!

    Adam

    Hi, EIB

I assume that this satellite has installed Toshiba BIOS and therefore, it should be possible access the BIOS by pressing ESC then F1.

You said that this laptop does not have the Toshiba logo screen it seems we can't get the MESSAGE correctly well I m sorry to say but in my opinion the portable hardware malfunctioning.

Maybe something wrong with the jury. and not with the HARD drive

  • Equium A100-338 - Flash memory card does not

Whenever I have close World of Warcraft, something appears in the upper left corner (looks like it must be a window but only on bar showing) which reads "Toshiba Flash Card (not answer). What can I do to prevent this?

Im sure he appears during the game as well as I hear a ringing sound.

    I have an Equium A100-338.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

a solution may be turning off the flash card service if Don t you need your USB.

You can disable it by following these steps:

    -Go to start-> settings-> Control Panel-> administration-> Services tools

-Make a right click on 'Smart Card' and left click on "Properties".

-In the window who pop´s you must stop the service and disable it with the "Disabled" choice to the option "Startup Type".

After that, your flash drive service is disabled and that you won´t get that annoying more errormessage.
    (I hope so: O)

  • Equium A100-338 has started to go very slow after using the recovery CD

I used the recovery CD after my Equium A100-338 has started to go very slow, it still seems slower than it used to be.
I haven't added anything to the computer from the CD recovery and verified the Manager tasks to see if I could spot anything suspicious.

Statistics say, use 18-22% CPU, but the physical memory is about 68% is this normal or should it be less?

Is there a list of standard processes I can check against mine to see if its doing something, it shouldn't be?

    Thank you

    Hello

I think you feel that unity is a bit slow due to the high amount of different processes that run in the context of the BONE.

The fact is that your laptop supports various features such as buttons FN, Toshiba control buttons, etc.
    All this has needs drivers.

In addition, as I m not wrong the Norton Internet Security has been installed on your system.
It s part of the image of Toshiba and this tool could affect the performance of the system.

I have used in the past, but now changed to another application that doesn t need a lot of material resources.

So if you want you can disable or delete some of the tools and utilities that are not important to you and could clean the system using a 3rd third party tool called CCleaner

    Welcome them

  • Equium A100 - 338 PSAAQE: shortcut keys not working not not after changing Vista to XP

I recently bought a PSAAQE Equium A100-338. It came preloaded with Vista home premium. I removed what I need XP pro. I found all the drivers to get everything works except the shortcut keys. I tried all the drivers available, but none works. Are there other drivers available for the access keys work.

Can anyone provide a url to a site where I can get the driver. Also, why are there no XP driver specific available, it took forever to find all those that I needed. I know a lot of it, specialists and companies that will not use Vista and only allow for XP.

For these features, you have no drivers but Toshiba has designed tools or utilities, but I fear that these tools are not designed for Windows XP Home edition. Not yet.

I believe you when you say that to many it professionals want to use Windows XP Home edition, but if everything works well, but these buttons are not so important to the features of the laptop and any computer can do its job.

  • Equium L10 will not start

Please help - my Equium L10 will not start.

Power supply is OK. When the power is connected the orange battery light comes on. I press the power button the green power light turns on momentarily (literally a Flash), then both the Green and orange lights out with orange alone returning it on about 2 seconds later.

Else does nothing - no fan activity, no hard disk, no activity of the screen activity, no other light - you get the picture!

    I tried the following:
Removed battery and tried to start with AC power not only - no joy
Removed AC power and I tried booting with battery only - no joy
Barrette of RAM removed and reinstall - no joy

Does anyone have ideas before considering a tech? Suggestions (with the exception where to paste!) would be welcome.

    Kind regards

    Gary C

Hmm .He doesn't sound good. For me, it looks like a motherboard problem. It is maybe something wrong with electronic power to the Board of Directors of s. But not for sure.

What you can do is to remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a while.
Wait about 20 minutes and connect the battery and adapter for the laptop. Then try turning on the laptop computer.
If this does not help I recommend contact the ASP technician, because I don t think you will be able to know what's exactly wrong.

So I hope that the technician can find the fault quickly and can solve this problem.

    Good luck

I downloaded all of the toshiba site realtek drivers still doesent work. Can someone please send tell me what sound card I have and where do I download it from.

    Thank you

    Hello

The problem is that you need install Microsoft patches before you continue installing the audio driver.

I found some useful tips and advice in this forum and it seems that you need to install the
KB888111 and KB835221 hotfix before installing the sound driver.

    Please check this!
