Equium A110-276 - why shared graphics memory is not set to max 128 MB?

I have a satellite A110-276 and the maximum graphics memory is 128 MB...
Now, when I bought this laptop, it says that the graphics memory is 128 MB, which is correct.

So I can play high graphic games and applications.
After 9 months, shared for graphics memory become 64 MB! What the?
Now when I play and use applications that need 128 MB, they are advising me that my graphic memory is 64 MB, which is low and applications can become slow.
Someone had this problem?

I tried to contact Toshiba and they said I need more RAM, I tried calling 4 times and they always say the same thing... but I already 1 024 MB of RAM, which is pretty... My problem is why the motherboard or BIOS does not share up to 128 MB of RAM for the graphics...

Hello

The satellite A110-276 supports an Intel graphic chip 945GM!
Intel graphics cards affect the automatically shared memory! The graphics driver controls the memory, and you can not manually set the amount!
If the application needs memory more graphic then the driver will assign and automatically share the memory!
Concern don t, everything seems ok!

  • His distorted with Equium A110-276

    Hey guys,.

I've had my Equium A110-276 for about 6 months now. Sounds still quite low summers on this topic despite raising the bars of masters and all that, it never reached a record of true. Anyway the main problem is, since last night, sounds, so they music or video or just XP sounds, they just really distorted, as if the speakers have a hard time to get the sound.

Could someone suggest, please? I can't watch or listen to something for the moment, that slow, crackling distortion is so boring.

    Thank you!

But you said that the new installation of the OS has helped! So there must be something wrong with the operating system or the files of the audio driver...

The laptop supports an Audio Realtek ALC 861 HD audio chip. Visit the realtek website and try to reinstall the driver of his most recent.
If it does not help reinstall the OS... who knows why it happens... maybe a 3rd party applications has a bad influence on some registry keys or system files

  • problems with dedicated and shared graphics memory

So basically I want to run a game that I have all the specs (above actually) that I need to play outside of memory dedicated to the graphics card. But what confuses the life out of me, is that I have about double the necessary memory required in system memory shared which as I understand, it is used on an as-needed-basis. However, clearly this is not the case, as soon as I try and run it crashes immediately.

Okay, so I have the graphics card with the following specifications:

chip type: mobile intel (R) 4 series express chipsets
channel of the card: mobile Intel GMA 4500 M
    total memory: 797 MB
    memory: 64 MB dedicated
    shared system memory: 733 mb

In addition to what BossDweebe wrote, I would like to comment on your comment

"I more than double the necessary memory required in system memory shared which as I understand, it is used on an as-needed-basis." However, clearly This is not the case, as soon as I try and run it crashes immediately. »

Shared memory (part of your system RAM) is provided by Windows on a dynamic basis, it is added if required and with a limited amount by the RAM of the system itself needs to run applications (= your shared graphics memory size can be based on available RAM total). It's a help for some graphical features, but not necessarily a guarantee to run games that explicitly requires a certain base of dedicated RAM video. As the dedicated RAM (own GPU memory) is much faster than the share of the contributions of RAM, two cases can appear:

    (1) the game does not start. Many games check the video hardware before starting, and if they are 64 MB VRAM and require more, often it is game over. The dynamically allocated shared memory cannot be controlled and is of no interest here.

    (2) other games may be more forgiving. But you're going to be faced with a vicious circle: you're hoping using shared memory, is a clear indicator of a graphic solution already slow and Asthenique (i.e. an integrated graphics card). Unfortunately, the slow system RAM does not speed up your graphics card, and taking a part of the RAM for the graphics features: with a slower running your game and can still finish in the dysfunctions.

  • Equium A110 - 276 BIOS update for Windows 7 32 bit

"Hello everyone, I'd like to update the BIOS on my satellite A110-276 and the two choices are 'OS Independent' and ' Windows Vista 32 bit. I have Windows 7 32 bit on this laptop. If I choose "OS Independent" it tells me ' Bios is NOT compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! "and if I choose" Windows Vista 32 bit ' he reads "Bios is only compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista!

Exclamation points are Toshiba, not me ;)

So I am stuffed and I need to stay with my current BIOS, or can, I use Windows Vista BIOS update?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

    Hello

First question; Why do you update the BIOS?
Do you want to update only to have a newer version?
If your Windows 7 is working well, then a BIOS update is not necessary.

Otherwise, install Vista OS to Toshiba Recovery (if available) disk, the BIOS update and then change to Win 7 ;)

  • What RAM max Equium A110-276 PSAB2E does support?

    TOSHIBA EQUIUM A110 PSAB2E-008006AV.

I just replaced both modules of memory the two 516 MB with a 2 GB module.
    Everything works fine.

However, I heard comments varied on the maximum memory.
I was told that the maximum is 2 GB, but I've heard, the laptop should have 3 GB; If this is the case, I can reinsert one of the 516 modules.
    .

    Hello

The Toshiba page says that this laptop supports Intel 945GM Express chipset
Intel 945GM Express chipset support maximum memory up to 4 GB to 400, 533 and 667 MHz.

So, theoretically, you can insert the second module of 512 MB

  • Increasing shared graphics memory in 600-1050

Graphics memory on my 600-1050 is shared - out of the box, it's using 256 MB of the 4 GB of RAM.

Can I expand this to 512 MB or 1 GB? If so, how? I saw no option in the NVidia Control Panel or in the BIOS.

    Thanks in advance.

    Paul

If they are not all BIOS settings can change the memory settings for video graphic card on Board then I doubt you could increase it to more than what you have which is only 256 MB... unless the operating system it increases dynamically as needed.

  • Equium A110-276: can I update the BIOS when installing Vista?

I don't know where to post this...

"I have a clean install of Windows Vista on my satellite A110-276. I have to update the BIOS or not? Is - mandatory/mandatory BIOS update?

    Hello

It seems that Toshiba has released a special version of the BIOS for Windows Vista.
If you want you can check it on the page of the Toshiba driver.

But if your Vista runs correctly on the computer laptop with the previous version of BIOS you n don't need to update the BIOS.
I recommend updating BIOS, if any odd operational behavior will appear.

  • Why is the recommendation "Do not set a public DNS server in TCP/IP from DC settings."

    Read best practices for DNS on DC and domain member client settings suggests that you should;

    • Contact your ISP and get the DNS IPs validates them and he adds forwarders, do not set a public DNS server in the TCP/IP from DC parameters

I just wanted to ask why this was the case, is it a security issue?

    Regards, Paul

  • Start stopped Equium A110-276 - seems less RAM slot is defective

    Hey there.

I am trying to sort my latop comrades. He just stopped start one day, when the power button was pushed the power light light up, the DVD - RW would scan for a disc and the brief of HDD LED illuminated. The screen never showed any output, remains black.

After a call to Toshiba, I decided to take a look at the RAM. It seems that the lower slot is faulty. The 2 sticks of RAM work well in the first slot, bringing the machine at the STATION and the shoe, like three other sticks, I tried.
None of those tested work sticks worked in the lower slot, either by themselves or with the top slot filled.

In addition, unlike most chess slot of RAM I saw, instead of the slot has been 'dead' (that is to say memory not recognized and begin with only the location of work), it seems that the POST sequence is interrupted as soon as the HARD drive is questioned (the sequence of work is the HARD drive light flashes, then the monitor active) which would lead me to believe that the post is the gel as he tries to question the faulty RAM Bank.

Yes, is there one option, other than a new motherboard, which can help get this slot machine working again? I've already thoroughly cleaned, t no effect and does someone has an idea why this would happen? The laptop has a life very easy, rarely used, always stored in her purse and enough dust, not hard fall or shocks either. Today was the first time the access panel RAM had even opened, it was factory-equipped memory.

For now, he can run with the RAM one module, and at least he has the opportunity to get a 2 GB module to make up for the shortfall.

    The BIOS version is 1.20

    Hello

My book of 8 years had the same problem. One of the slots was defective.
I put t don't know why, but after a long period of use, it did not work.
So I had two options; either replace the motherboard (not possible because the mobo would cost as much as the entire notebook) or not to use only one bank of memory.

I bought a 1 GB of RAM instead of 2 x 512 MB, and now the laptop runs to search using a single module of RAM.

It may be an option for you. If this isn't the case, then a replacement of the motherboard would be required.

    Good bye

  • Equium A110-276 - what is this BSOD average?

I hope that someone help me by telling me what's causing all these blue screens, I got last week.

I have analyzed dmp files and are in the posts below. I just be reformatted my hard drive and I was wondering if it was a specific driver, that I should be looking at, or if it was a hardware problem. I hope you can help!

    Hello

I also suggest that you need to check the modules of RAM with Memtest86. You can download a CD image and burn it to a CD. Then you have a startup disk where you can start from.
Memtest86 is really easy to use and find most of the problems of RAM.

In my opinion it may be also due to drive HARD, maybe bad sectors. HARD drive you can test also, but that's why you should Drive Fitness Test or another test tool. Use Google to find, the test is also freeware and you can download an ISO image of a bootable disc.

    Good luck!

  • Equium A110-276: multimedia keys do not work with Vista

How to reinstall the software of the multimedia buttons on the right side of the laptop under Windows Vista? because when I install windows vista buttons no longer work... Multimedia buttons: the WMPlayer, stop, play/pause, buttons next and previous... a nyonw got a software or you have the same problem?

    Hello

I checked the Vista download page and your computer laptop A110 (PSAB2) is not listed there. Usually, you need Toshiba controls but with Vista this tool is not available separately. I assume that it is a part of the package of added value.

Have you already installed whatever it be downloaded from Toshiba download page http://pc-support.toshiba-europe.com/vista/?

  • Equium A110-276 unable to shut down or Hibernate

With the ac adapter connected to the laptop, I am unable to shut down or Hibernate. When to stop or go into hibernation, the computer seems to do everything right until the power is off. When the power is off there is a delay of two seconds after which re-booting the computer again. This problem doesn't happen with the ac adapter removed from the computer (drums only).

Problem started after my husband inadvertantly connected adapter while the computer has boot the system. Have you looked at the BIOS settings and everything is ok; looked at the power in the control panel settings and all looks ok.

    Can someone please help?

    Hello

AFAIK the Toshiba Power saver controls things standby and hibernation.
You must first delete your energy savings, and then after removing own and after restarting again you must install the version of the Toshiba driver page.

If that does not solve the problem, you should try to update the BIOS. But be careful. Don't forget to use the good BIOS and the correct procedure of updating the BIOS!
