Equium A60 - after reinstalling XP the FN keys not working not

I'm completely lost as to the use of this site, but I don't know that I will be corrected.

I have a satellite AE60-199... PSA67E I reloaded with XP. The only thing that seems to not work is for example the function keys. FN + Esc to mute, etc. I tried to download on the site all kinds of archives, but nothing helped.

Can you tell me what particular progs I'm looking for? I loaded things like the hotkeys etc & it does not appear to have a common module so I'm stuck & stuffed.

Thank you in advance.

I just reinstalled Windows Vista, and when I enter the product key, I thought that my key is already used.  How to solve this?  My Windows product key sticker is on my computer.

    Hi Christian,

It comes by default. In fact, you are using the product key, not someone else. The problem is easily solved. See this link on my site for more details:http://vistasupport.mvps.org/product_key_already_in_use.htm

As far as I know, it must be part of the package of added value.

  • the Z key stopped working

I had a v.2.0 keyboard Microsoft Wireless Laser 6000 for many years. It is connected to my laptop Lenovo via cables to the dock go Lan.

A month ago, the z key stopped working. Well on the cell. I tried all sorts of troubleshooting. New driver. Reconnect the docking, cleaning and more.

    Still no go.

    Help. Thank you.

You can only replace the keyboard. It is a material, after a few years, that is expected to fail, it's not your fault nor the fault of the manufacturer. It is located.

  • Switch to the correct encryption certificate I get the error: "Key not valid for use is specified state."

    Used
    Now cannot open encrypted files.

When you try to pass the correct encryption certificate I get the error:
"Key not valid for use is specified state."

    See this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/keeping-passwords-secure-microsoft-policy-on/39f56ef0-5d68-41ad-9daa-6e6019c25d37

It is as it's supposed to as an anti theft precautions. I mean that data is encrypted, if somebody stole your hard drive and the hard drive boots and the other account it can receive data.

If you not export recovery certificates and encrypting the data, you cannot redo the decryption.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/back-up-EFS-certificate#1TC=Windows-7

If it's a default domain recovery agent. admin area. If it's home, to look for recovery certified you have exported.

But third-party tools are there if you can remember old password the is to encrypt you can recover. But they are not free... and premium software is not be recommended or guided through support free forum due to the effort of preventing unnecessary advertising.

You can do you own research about recovering data... just try to get you using the favorite search engine... "Restore access to encrypted EFS format files" or "Advanced EFS Data Recovery.

Many more free guides will be available... Just keep in mind this is not a method to escape... you must remember your old password at least for decryption in the case where you export a certificate.

  • EliteBook 2570p: Windows 7 Pro OEM activation error after reinstall onto the new HARD drive

    Greetings!

I had to replace my laptop HARD drive and then clean installed windows iso downloads, burned on a dvd.

I first tried Windows 10 (build 1511), then Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with SP1. Or activate using the key OEM COA sticker.

I tried MS activation of phone also, but they said that they could not generate a confirmation key. They tried to transfer me to "get windows up and running support" but could not get through.

The first activation says invalid key without being connected to the internet, which makes me wonder if there is an inconsistency between my product key and SLIC data, (which I do not have much understanding).

The service 'Ask Tech' at Microsoft tried to sell me a license at a high cost, which I don't think I should need because I have the license OEM Windows 10 retail.

I don't have HP recovery disks (and did not expect to need).

    Any advice would be welcome!

The problem is that you should NOT use Win7 ISO downloads to reinstall your PC.  Given that your PC came with a preinstalled HP Win7 OEM version, and is NOT available for download, I have to assume that what you used to reinstall a retail version.

And the problem is that the commercial version only lights up with a retail key.  The product key that came with your PC and is printed on the COA sticker, is a key to OEM HP product - and that cannot be used to activate any other than the version from HP OEM version of Win7.

Your best bet at this point, is to restore your PC using HP recovery media - and then perform the upgrade of Win10 after that.

It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Equium A60-199: question on the colors of the button power/powerlight

I was wondering if someone could explain why the power button on my Equium A60-199 changed from its usual blue to a Pink/Purple mix, and also why usually green power light on the front of the laptop has changed to amber.

    Thank you.

If the powerbutton is Pink/Purple and your amber powerlight, that means that your machine is in mode. This happens usually when the computer has been configured with a power that leaves your machine goes mode sleep after using only not in a period of time.

Or you have vista and click on the button in the Startmenu which supposedly should stop the machine but rather switch to standby.

    That's all.

  • Equium A60: After BIOS update device will beep several times and turns off

    Hello

I downloaded the windows BIOS update for my Equium A60 (dated 11/15/05) and ran the executable by following the instructions, after ensuring that the current AC has been connected, etc.. The update has got a little more to halfway when the computer turns off suddenly.

Now when I try to turn back on it just a few beeps and turns off again. It seems to me that the BIOS is screwed. Is there anything I can do to get my machine to run?

    Thank you
    Phil

    Hi Phil,

Unfortunately, it seems that if the BIOS of your laptop is corrupted. Unfortunately, he didn't there has no easy way for you to correct yourself and you will need to take the phone to your nearest Toshiba Service agent who has the necessary specialized equipment to reflash your CMOS with a new BIOS chip.

    Kind regards

  • Equium A60: How to get the display on TV?

Can someone give me details on how I can get my Equium A60 (with ATI7000 graphics card) display appears on my TV? I tried to use the S-video out to TV s-video but the ATI displays tab said that the TV is not connected. I tried to boot up the laptop with the TV on but it makes no difference.

    Thank you

It is important to activate the s-video option on some TV.
Then the TV should show up as connected in the properties of ATI Mobility under the view tab

In addition, you must use the FN + F5 key combination to switch to the TV

  • Equium A60-155: error of the Symantec antivirus

I have an error message from my anti-virus from Symantec that definitions of files are corrupt - this happens whenever the laptop is used - any ideas why it is doing this?

I tried different antivirus solutions... McAfee, AVG, Norton etc. but they all have similar problems - not loading correctly, errors in programs or just dropped.

I also reinstalled Symantec but which has not been set. I have also reinstalled the OS several times but it makes no difference.

I tried to live with the Norton Security 2004, delivered with the laptop, but that will keep not itself no longer updated, and when I try the update, it just falls and accidents - and it's the image came with the laptop without any change made.
This version of Norton also tends to make the laptop run like a 268.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

    Hello

As far as know license update Norton Anti Virus that has been pre-installed on the unit is available for 1 year. I think that after 12 months it of not possible update the file to virus definition, or you need to buy an additional license.
But I don't think it's responsible for the strange problem.

I put t understand this recovery procedure doesn't solve this problem.
Have you had a second partition? Maybe you have a virus on the second partition?
    Unfortunately I m of ideas. :(
