Equium A60: CD and DVD reading problem

I have a laptop that uses a carpet Equium A60 * a UJ-811 t dvd/cd-rw. For some reason any all of a sudden when I play a music CD or a DVD it jumps slightly. On audio, it's like a constant ripple, and the video jumps a few images every few seconds. Don't have an idea why its doing so. Any help appreciated. see you soon

Hello

He s strange. It s easy to tell why it occurs. For me, it looks like a constantly driving rotation. You have other problems to drive with no media music or a movie?
Other possibilities that you can see are the properties of the drive.
Please see the properties of the drive. You will find a hardware tab. Please select here your player and press the properties button. In the Properties tab, please check if digital playback is enabled. You should also try to disable this option and check if this problem occurs again.

    Hello
Normally, you can run Ram PC2700 in collaboration with am Ram PC2100.

Faster memory will adapt its speed to the slower.

The PC2700 is downwards compatible way.

So, in this case, you can buy this memory without problem

  • EQUIUM A60 bed burned DVD but not CD and not all Audio CD

Well the problems really in the title of the topic. my laptop has problems reading all burning CDs and, when it is really play up, the Audio CD. He has no problem reading DVD burned but which is very strange. any ideas?
    Thank you
    Matt

I have no idea why this happen but it is very strange. It looks like that your laptop wont play media only if it is in a bad mood. For that matter, it is not easy to give simple diagnosis or explanation.

As you know the drive feature depends on many factors: empty media producer, some readers are really picky and very sensitive in reading different things, perhaps, the lens must be clean. Maybe does not format on the media and you need to install "special" stuff. Believe me on this path it is not easy to say anything.

You can try to check the Toshiba download page and to know if the firmware is available.

Sorry, but I can't tell you more about this path.

  • Satellite A60 - recovery and install xp problem

I have a laptop A60 which is slightly more than 1 year.

A couple of days, about 2 minutes after the start, the screen flashed with a new window (I was unable to see the content, it's appeared and disappeared so fast), then the laptop turned off.

I rebooted, could not boot into winxp I received the error message (please report this problem as a load dll required) missing file. The missing files were all of the system folder.

I then tried the recovery dvd. Everything looked fine, however, he kept failing at windows startup.

Whenever I start the machine now, I get the toshiba logo, which now has lines of Red pixels in the columns towards the bottom of the screen. The same effect occurs when I try to recover using the recovery dvd.

After trying this for some time, I tried to install my own copy of XP home. The laptop starts, attempts to load the files needed for the installation of winxp, gets to the core of the dll and stops with an error 4 impossible to continue.

The recovery cd and winxp cd are in good working condition - validated it on other machines.

Once, the winxp set up did go to the options page so I chose the repair console. I was able to run fixmbr and fixboot. It worked, then I could use the recovery dvd and successfully recovered it. About 2 minutes later, once he had everything installed, I got a blue screen of death and had to re-boot - to see that I was back to the initial situation.

I then used fdisk to set up new partitions. ]

Now, if I try the recovery cd, the laptop starts to load the ghost file and then the screen turns white after a while - the same thing with trying to install a new copy of xp.
I still get the red on the screen pixels when I try the recovery cd and when I start the machine and get the toshiba logo. However, when I try to install xp from my drive, the red lines, points, appear not at all.

My feeling is that I had a master seed virus and need a new hard drive.

Can someone please advise me on this... What do you think that is the problem? If you think it's a virus master seed aswell, can you please tell me what you know how I can fix this or I have to buy a new hard drive. What a RAM problem or a problem with the hard drive controller?

For now, I am going through several thoughts, but keep coming back to the boot virus master = new hard drive!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Paul,.

In this case, my inclination is to suspect the RAM modules. This is based on the assumption that the screen initial 'splash' is not on the hard disk but is stored in the CMOS chip. The fact that your get the Red pixels when it appears would indicate a problem until the hard drive is still accessible.

If you have restored your system using the recovery CD then the Master Boot Record will also have been restored (and is not infected).

Of course, it is perfectly possible that your hard drive may also have problems that would explain the symptoms that you experience when you try to restore you system, but want to try simply to clean the dust from your CPU radiator (with a vacuum cleaner hose) before you try to restore again.

The restore process causes a lot of heat to be generated, and you may well find that it is having a negative effect on your laptop.

  • Satellite X 200-HD - DVD reading problems

    Hello

    I recently acquired a Satellite X 200.
I decided to upgrade to the latest drivers and applications available on the website of Dutch support.
Since I now have my first HD-DVD player, I also bought the latest Harry Potter on HD - DVD.

Reading with no upgrade did not work, so I've upgraded to the HD-DVD player more recent.
Reading worked just fine now, but when I upgraded to all the other stuff (Broadcom decoder, drivers NVidia, etc.), reading crashes after a few seconds.
I have now restored almost everything and I can replay the film very well, but of course I would really like to keep my drivers up-to-date. Anyone here with similar experiences and (hopefully) a solution?

Another problem I have is when I plug in my TV via HDMI, playback stops.
The TV is not HD, but can perfectly HD signals downsample. I have an XBox 360 connected that I've tested this with, but with the Toshiba, it just won't play.
    Again, all tips are welcome...

    Maurice

    Hello

I suggest reinstall you the entire system and update your BIOS because it is possible that the software are somewhat overloaded or your system has too many things that probably isn't necessary.

Especially the problem could probably be a corrupted driver then please try for example a display driver on the European driver download site, maybe better than the Dutch versions work.

I guess the problem is somewhere in the search on the display drivers, since the question really looks like them.
Is your X 200 a SLI machine? If this isn't the case, then you could try this site www.laptopvideo2go.com because they have more real pilots and they set up drivers for mobile system.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A35-S1593: DVD reading problem

    Hello.

    I have a SAT. A35 S1593. There a UJDA750 dvd/cdrw rom in it.
I did some research about my problem, but I STILL can't get a direct answer from all the research Ive done. So... I come to you.

I started to have problems playing DVDs. Now I can read at all. I can read burned CD and can burn CDs, I can even listen to CDs of reg with no problems.
The problem is with the DVD. No matter what I do, other drivers, codecs, or firmware, I still have to make it work.

    What is c?
Try to use the restore CD say you.
Ive tried, and it will not read anything.
The CD is good, I can put it in one of my other machines, and it will read.

Frustrated and out of warranty, I thought I would load windows XP Pro on it, I thought that the worst case it would not read the CD either. ........
I was wrong it read and load Win Xp on it. Hoping that just maybe Winxp fix it.

Hell I couldn't put it to its original state as do I lose.
What else can I do to get this drive working and restore it to its state of OEM.

    Thanks in advance

    ~ Kuma

    Hi Ronn

This seems to be a hardware problem.
I would say that the lens of the drive cannot calibrate properly in the right position and so the DVD cannot be recognized.
Each CD or DVD supports the different features and properties so the lens must calibrate to manage every single support.
If this is not possible then the CD or DVD cannot be read or written

Unfortunately, these failures occur due to the stress of the material and that replacement can help to solve these problems.

    Greetings

  • Equium A60 - standby and Hibernate function does not

I have a Toshiba Equium (or Satellite) laptop A60 - bought in 2004.

The problem that I have with him, it is that the sleep feature is very + capricious. Times it usually works. At worst it's working only a small proportion of the time. Very bad moments it never works at all.

When startup fails I open the screen and the computer turn on, I hear the fan and hard drive, but the screen is just black display (although the backlight is on in the background).
Sometimes, the mouse pointer is visible at the center of a black screen Uni and at other times small forests of window are visible - but the screen is still black.
The computer is in a State of brain death, and I have to turn it off and restart to get it working again.

I've been through this forum looking for ideas and tried without notable success the following:
    Disabling wake-up-on-LAN
    * I have already installed the latest version of the BIOS.

I need to know how to solve this problem because my A60 is getting old and so it tends to become very hot if left running for a long period at a time.

    The total number is A60 - PSA67E 00200D8J

I am running Windows XP is installed on original Toshiba drive - but with 5 years ' worth of Microsoft updates added on top. When I tried to reinstall the operation usually on the eve of the OS works, but by the time wherever I installed all the extras (drivers card wireless firewall, AV,...), it goes back to be unreliable again.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

    > When the night before fails, I open the screen and the computer turn on, I hear the fan and hard drive, but the screen is just black display (although the backlight is on in the background).
    > When I tried to reinstall the operation usually on the eve of the OS works

This means that after the installation of a new OS everything seems to work properly but after a short time the night before fails again one generally, this occurs when the laptop gets hot.
    Is this good?

Hmm I think you should check if the high temperature does not affect the functionality of the laptop
This is perhaps the main reason for your question.
So I recommend to clean the vents and to remove dust using the jet of compressed air (you can get it from most computer resellers)

In very rare cases, it would be helpful to renew the thermal grease which is placed between the cooling module and CPU.
But this must be done ONLY by a mobile technician because the procedure of disassembly is really complicated.

Update the display driver too. This could help to resolve the problem with the black screen.

  • Equium A60 Win XP SP3 update problem

Of the major problems upgrading a re-installation of SP2 to SP3. Had to re - install because of stability issues. I tried all the many solutions proposed in article Microsoft ID:822798 without success. Installation of the SP3 pack always gets the part passing through and still gives me the error dialog update SP3 "failed to install catalog files. SP2 is stable, but simply will not be upgraded. I tried a variety of approaches, including a try immediately after re-installing XP SP2 with + without any security software or loaded drivers, but same problem no matter what approach.

I'm running the original BIOS - is an update V 1.90 likely to solve anything. I was tought not too touch BIOS upgrade, unless she has a performance advantage?

    Hi mate

How about including the SP2 and SP3 and building new Win XP disk in Win XP installation disc?

You can use a software called nLite. It allows you to integrate the drivers and updates on win xp disk.

After that, you can use the new disk to reinstall new OS

  • Equium A60-155 recovery DVDs

My laptop has become very slow, so I decided to reformat. I put the recovery dvd to and followed the instructions and everything was goin' fine until about 60 to 70% of the way in which the process my laptop just turned itself off. Rather puzzled I lit it again and the process began early on but my laptop turns off even earlier that she had done before. Anyone know wot can I do to get my laptop working again - I hope that it is a minor problem that is fixable.

    Hello

Well, it s a strange question. You format the whole HARD drive?
I m not sure but maybe the HARD drive has a defect. You should try to recover the operating system on the second partition. If it doesn't works, I suppose that it s something wrong with the recovery DVD or HARD drive. In this case, you must contact the ASP.

  • Equium a60 - 155 and ac power

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me.

    I have 2 questions.

    (1) I charged the battery last night and left in the laptop from one day to the next, with the laptop turned off. This morning, I ran out of battery, and he said I got 97% battery and less than 2 hours of running time. My question is would it be of rejected in the course of the night? The battery is supposed to last 3 hours. In addition, the battery should be left in when the laptop is not used, or does it take to preserve memory?

    (2) currently, I use the laptop power AC, with the battery off. The charging light has gone green, which indicates that he is responsible. The manual advises removing the battery if you use the power supply to avoid damage - is there a way around that, it's pretty annoying to keep taking the battery everytime I want to use this

    Can anyone help
    Sorry it was long!
    Sam

    Hello

As far as I know the battery is important for the backup battery. It is also possible that your battery may be empty after a few days if the laptop is not in use. I read somewhere that it is possible that battery may 15% loss of capacity during the night.

If you are working with current alternative, you can remove your battery. I also do the same thing. I know, it's may be complicated, but there is no other way except laptop battery.

    Good bye
