  I don't know about you but there is a problem of contact between AC adapter slot and motherboard. If the power adapter is recognized sporadically, I have no other explanation.

  Hold on! Have you tried to boot from the recovery DVD or have you tried to boot under Windows OS?

  I put t know exactly what could be wrong but sometimes a lens player could malfunction and could not calibrate correctly. In this case some mediums are not readable.

  I'm glad that the hard drive is seen now.  To the extent where the DVD player, if you have purchased a new DVD player for the laptop, and you have it installed, then there is something else involved here.  In this MANUAL, it seems that it is just a simple operation change out.  Must be another reason it does not work or is recognized in the BIOS.
