Hello

I don't know exactly where you can find a correct setting on this unit, but it must be somewhere in the mouse properties.

Please also check the model of laptop. Equium M40 does not for me. Just A60. Give us please the right laptop model.

    Hello

I have problems with the touchpad of my laptop Equium A210-1AS.
After some time of use of the mouse becomes unusable and just starts bouncing around the screen and becomes uncontrollable.

The only solution then is to unplug the laptop and turn the power off, re start the touchpad works again.

I use Windows Vista and downloaded the latest touchpad drivers.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    This problem very strange s.
Could you please tell me if this problem occurs after you reinstall the OS from the Toshiba Recovery CD?
I read on several forums of Vista that some Microsoft Vista updates may have a bad influence on the touchpad driver
Therefore, it would be very interesting to know if this problem appears immediately after the use of the recovery CD.

  • Equium M50-164 - Touchpad problem if an AC/DC adapter is connected

    Hello

Can anyone help? My Toshiba Equium M50-164 has intermittent problems with the touchpad. Sometimes its fine, sometimes the cursor will jump around the screen, out of control, then comes oneself, the problem goes away when I remove the power cable and returns when it is reconnected.

Other times it is fine with the power cable plugged, it suggests maybe the power supply causing a problem for me, but I was hoping that someone with more experience could give me some advice.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You are using an original from Toshiba AC adapter or to a 3rd party manufacturing?

It's not easy to say what the reason is, it could be a problem of AC adapter or motherboard.
I think the best way is to contact you nearest authorized service provider. Go to them with the laptop and the AC adapter and ask a technician for help. They can check the laptop and the material.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite P300-1 year - Touchpad problem with AC adapter / CC

I have a laptop Satellite P300-1 year and from the beginning (two weeks)
I have a touchpad problem: it will not immediately responsive and the pointer shakes when pressing the key. Very often, it freezes for only one or two seconds.

It's VERY annoying. A USB mouse works perfectly.
I tried to reinstall the drivers of the ALPS, tried Synaptics ones, just try Windows Vista drivers: no way.

Now, I found the reason: this question is present only when the laptop is powered by the AC adapter / CC.
With the battery, the touchpad is perfect.

I contacted Toshiba Service and thay said that they do not change the AC adapter if I don't mean before a full system restore!
Is it not more simple just try with a new adapter and then only, if the problem persists, try more drastic procedures?

    Anyone had this same problem?

    > I contacted Toshiba Service and thay said that they do not change the AC adapter if I don't mean before a full system restore! Is it not more simple just try with a new adapter and then only, if the problem persists, try more drastic procedures?

The point is that your laptop should be always verified using the Toshiba factory setting.
Why? Because the ASP wants to make sure that this issue is not related to a software problem (compatibility problems with applications 3rd part). Software problems are not covered by the warranty.

In addition the ASP will always recover the laptop before the verification of the pieces of equipment to malfunction. Therefore, you should always back up your data from the HARD disk until you send the laptop to check.

I recommend you to reinstall the operating system using the Toshiba recover disc and then check if the problem appears.
If yes you can contact ASP and could provide all the necessary details for only one technician.

    Good bye

    Hello

Each part of the laptop can be ordered.
I find that the Equium M40 supports the universal AC adapter PA3283U-2ACA 15V 5A 75W 100-240V AC 50-60 Hz auto adjustment

This or any other compatible parts, you can order the ASP in your country or several dealers online from the computer/laptop.

    Greetings

I'm having a problem with the computer laptop girls :(

When you start the lappy up to 60% of the time once the desktop and its loading bits in the lower right the right pointer disappears and we cannot do anything with the machine outside turn off using the power button.

If we continue trying to start the machine, eventually it will work normally. It's just like a random event: S

I have been through the forums and the FAQ etc, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers touchpad etc and tried some of the corrections mentioned on these forums, but nothing seems to solve the problem, for example the bios, chipset drivers...

    Wouldn't be a windows problem?
Is it worth taking the time to go through the process of running a start-up in minimal mode and looking for a service does not, or reinstall a full windows? or is it something that I didn't think?

Any help and ideas would be fantastic thanks :)

You can start a computer laptop in SafeMode (F8 at startup) and check if there is the same problem with the touchpad and pointer?

  • Equium M40 - cursor usually frozen - Touchpad very erratic

My cursor seems to freeze when the laptop is turned on for awhile (heat?) and then suddenly works again after days and days of frost. Have reinstalled the drivers (which worked for 24 hours), sent to Toshiba last week who has reinstalled everything and it worked again for 24 hours only, has been slain for worked days and now it suddenly after all the frozen screen and he would answer no to the keyboard either so I had to turn off at the power button but I have done this before and it didn't work before - WITHOUT RHYME or REASON. This is a brand new machine. WHAT CAN I DO? It makes me mental.

    Hey richie

It's not easy to say what exactly is the problem. Maybe your unit switches to hot?
It is also very important, that this laptop should be free of any objects that can cover the ventilation openings. There should be place around the unit so he cans "breath". Sometimes can help to update BIOS. You can also change the performance of the processor and method of cooling of the unit in Toshiba power saver utility.
    Maybe it helps.

  • Equium A100-027 touchpad not responding

I have an equium a100-027 and today the touchpad was funny.
For example, I went to move and sometimes it wouldn't be no move, moved very little, or when he moved quickly moved to around to the same place that it was before.

I assumed that maybe it's just that my computer has been used too much memory or something. But then later, it no longer responds. I restarted my computer and the same problem, it does not move.

Before anyone suggests, I in fact checked all the settings for it. I know there is a shortcut (fn + f9) to turn it off.
However, I already checked and it is activated.
I am falling quickly with this computer, six months old and already had two problems with it.

Anyone can suggest a way to solve this problem, or should he be returned to be repaired?

If it must be returned, how should I do this?
I bought of Dixons, and when I came down to them with my last number, they said they have no responsibility and I had to call "the tech guy".

This ended up being A £1.50 tech support number overcharge, which I'm not call again.
This laptop has only 6 months, clearly under warranty. I don't have to pay who knows how much on a phone call just to get it fixed.

Sorry if this sounds like a hangover, just in a bad mood with this computer at the minute.
    Thanks for any help! =-)

    Hello

I see that you're desperate. Sorry to hear this story.
But before you send this laptop to any point of service, you must reinstall the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

This procedure will put the laptop to factory settings!

If the touchpad does not work after reinstalling new contact ASP in your country.
The service provider authorized in your country will be able to help you and if your warranty is valid, everything must be done for free.

I can't believe that the appeal could cost about £1.5 because it s a common phone number.

If you want to find the ASP please check this:

  • Equium M50: Defective Touchpad

Hello, I have a laptop Equium M50. The touchpad works very well when I'm working on the battery, but as soon as I connect to the grid it becomes erratic and intermittent. Does anyone know what is the problem?

    Thank you, John.

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall the driver for the touchpad and the utility?
But it could also be a hardware malfunction.
One of my friends had a similar problem. One day, it was not possible to get the touchpad under control. The cursor has jumped and it was not possible to do anything.
The Toshiba service partner has solved the problem.

  • Satellite M40 startup / shutdown problems!

For almost 3 months now, my Satellite M40 * don't power up * unless it is completely and absolutely * cold *. It freezes at the beginning.

Every time I have shut down or restart my laptop, I have to wait about 25 minutes, so I can start it up again. What is happening is stops at the "* Toshiba" logo * screen, from the beginning and he * gel *. I have to press the power button until it turns the power off.

It's a fact: the laptop is * NOT * extremely hot. Its temperatures are * regular *, I've been monitoring for some time now. If overheating is not the problem here.

-It also won't stop; it freezes again in the * ' Windows is shutting down * ' display messages... and it freezes.

-I know that another user of this forum who has had the same problem, but access to its wire has alleged that closed just because some have said of him/her to format and install the OS again. This is * NOT * a software problem! I have tried myself, for all its worth.

-Today I have updated the * BIOS * also, it has not solved anything.

So, knowing that I'm not the only one to have this kind of trouble with M40, what to do? Just buy a new one after 2 years?

    Hello Ricardo

Let's be realistic. It is really possible that software is not the problem but tell me please what you can do in such situation. Not much. In another thread, the guy wrote quite reasonable notice. All you can do is make clean OS install and hope it helps.

I agree with you that problem described is certainly hardware related issue but you can not do much and portable must be verified by the service. Using specific diagnostic tools, they can say with certainty what can be the problem.

I don't really understand your last sentence. To be honest on this forum I have seen similar topics but unrelated to the M40 and it's really pointless to understand as untimely M40.

  • Satellite M40 PSM40E - big problem

    Model: Satellite M40-237 (PSM40E)

To start from the beginning. Around a year ago, the laptop began to restart occasionally. Overheating is not the cause, sometimes randomly - even when I just turn on the laptop. I searched the net for the question and found that many laptops Toshiba have reboot problem. It seems that if the portable computer "thinks" it's overheating as sometimes it is not just a reboot, it stops, but leave the cooler work.

Since there is no solution to the problem I just use the phone normally, ignoring the ocassional restarts. Sometimes, he would spend months before it restarts, sometimes it would happen a few times a day. Recently, it has started to happen a lot, so I decided to clean the laptop again to make it East of cooling perfectly. Coolers are clean and I applied a new thermal paste on the processor, chipset and graphics card. When I turned it on it has restarted several times and then it worked fine for a few days.

Today it restarted again, to be precise, he stops and left cooler work (although it was obviously not overheating). I turned it off by removing the battery and it works again, something I've done many times before, when this happens - usually it stops just restart later. But this time it would be closed again, I turned and he left like that for awhile.

And here's the last problem, something that has never happened before. Now when I turn on the turn it restarts immediatelyover and more. It goes no further than the toshiba welcome screen I can see briefly.

I tried a few things to eliminate a potential cause of this problem:
-It works with or without battery
    -removed the optical drive
    -removed HARD drive
-removed/changed the order of the RAM chips

It just keeps restarting, so as much as I think the problem might be connected with:
-power - maybe my diet started to malfunction about a year ago when this problem started, and it's completely broke down somewhere now?
-battery - it is a lot (it's on about 40% of the original force), this could be the problem? But, the tour should work without the battery at all, so I don't see how
-motherboard - something could be broken on the motherboard, this case, it is virtually impossible to find and repair the fault
-temperature sensors - they are showing the correct time but since the round is underway down to 'cool', there is perhaps a problem that makes the tour think it is overheating. If this is the case, is it possible to disable the detectors somehow?

If you have experience with something similar or tips please answer. As it is, it seems that I can just recover the removable parts and throw everything in the garbage :-/

    HELO drool

Long story. What to say? Friend of mine has Satellite M40 for a year now and it still works fine without any serious problems. May be time to cleaning it but he must know what he wants to do with his laptop.

In any case when the is in your sentence followed by validation
    > so I decided to clean the laptop again so that it cools perfectly. Coolers are clean and I applied a new thermal paste on the processor, chipset and graphics card.
is there for me, end of story. Laptop has been opened, no one knows what you did exactly, did you all following some manuals.

Sorry but I do not see a solution for you. Or you can ask for professional help and pay for it or sell the laptop on eBay. Please do not throw it garbage. ;) earn money with it.

The Split X 2 HP with processor i5 and WIndows 8.1

I bought a x 2 split this last November and I had a problem of re-occurred since I got it. During use, the mouse will often freeze and my touchpad does not work. Can you please tell me how to fix this? I am a student engineer and I need my computer works fine for my work. Thank you

    Hello

I recently used a Split 13D x 2 that has the same problem and the next seems to correct the problem.

Open windows control panel and open the Device Manager.  Expand "Controllers of Bus USB" and you should find 2 entries for "Generic USB Hub".  Right-click on that 1 and select Properties, then select the tab power management and Remove the tick in the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".  Click Ok to save the setting.

Do the same for the 2nd "USB hub generic.

    Once completed, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

I currently have problems touchpad and mouse.

I used my wireless mouse once and my trachpad has stopped working compltetely.

I have seen that it is a common problem but Ive tried everything and nothing works. a hard reset worked once to get my mouse works again without the wireless mouse but when I need to click top of cushion does nothing.

  • Satellite Z30 - A - 1 d 0: No. Wlan after fashion 'sleep' / touchpad problem

    Hello!

I bought this laptop in early September and I am super happy with it, but there are two little things that annoy me and I was not able to fix yet:

    (1) exit standby or sleep mode, it is re - connect never automatically for the wireless on it's, I have to do it manually every time. Windows wireless works well, so this isn't it, but what is?

    (2) sometimes the touchpad will stop working randomly and I have to use a mouse or restart to fix it. I reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad. Turning the touchpad/disable using function keys does not resolve the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 pilot was published on the Intel page, and looks like this driver is more recent than the one provided in the Toshiba page.

Here you can get the latest version of the driver:

  • Satellite L505-13W - FN keys were not and touchpad problem

    Hello everyone,

I have two questions and I'd highly appreciate your help.

First, when I got the laptop he used to have a Fn bar that comes down from the top of the screen when I press the Fn, it shows all the keys Fn, now it disappeared. I need to get it back, I almost tried everything and nothing is there yet.

Second, the touchpad is a zoom no more when I apply the 2 fingers in and out, he used to do that before.

    My laptop is Satellite L505-13W

    Thanks in advance

    Hi abdouni,.

    1. I think that the problem is related to Toshiba Value added Package, and Flash Cards Support utility. These two tools control FN keys and cards Flash appears if you press the FN key.
You can download it from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Regarding the installation: first remove these two tools and reboot the laptop. Now, install the package of added value and stop and start again. Install the Flash Cards Support utility and do a restart. Now, the FN keys should work again.

    2. it could be related to value added package too to check my ad.
If it s does not work, reinstall the driver for the touchpad.
