• Equium P200-178-backlight of the screen is not

  One of my friends has an Equium P200-178 and the backlight on the screen has failed.
  Unfortunately, the machine is out of its warranty of three weeks and we are very, very far from a repair shop.

  Googling the problem indicates that the inverter may have failed, but how get you to it?
  I removed all the screws that I see on the case, but there still disintegrates. I don't want to take the risk of breaking.

  The FL inverter is a small part that controls the screen's backlight and it s close the TFT screen.

  Usually it s not advisable to disassemble these portable High-Tech, because this procedure is difficult and you could damage other parts.

  However, it seems that you are already on the job and portable computer s covers are already deleted.

  It gets very frustrating, because it means that I can not read cd or dvd on my laptop.

  These CPU updates is not supported by Toshiba and so there is no official list of processors, they will work in Equium P200. No one has tested the other processors in this model

  I'm trying to help fix a friends laptop which is a Toshiba Equium L20-197.

  The screen got damaged and is the only thing wrong with it.
  I searched for the LCD on the net and so far have not been very successful.

  So I was wondering if anyone here knows other models 15 "LCD Panel that fits without modding or solder?

  Also I noticed that it uses the integrated GFX ATI Express 200 so maybe the laptop take a 32-bit Control Panel using the same cable?

  To find new LCD Panel replacement is very easy. Use Google and put a few words like LCD L20 and you will find a lot of shops online to where you can order the new replacement screen.

• Two questions with Equium P200-178

  Hi all

  I've owned my faithful * P200-178 * (PSPB2E-001002AV) for a few years now with no problems until recently. It has windows vista Home premium installed.

  First of all the built-in wireless (PA3613U-1MPC) stopped working after that a "friend" he fell! The switch works ok, but the light no longer works. I reinstalled the driver and it did make a difference. A message appears saying that the wireless adapter was not installed during the installation of the software. I even tried a model from the same wireless adapter and it does not work. What is strange, it is when you use free configuration that he knows that the switch is either on or off, but can't find the adapter. The Device Manager also can not find.

  Second, after that my children has uploaded an image to their homework the notebook had a nervous breakdown! I have all the latest antivirus software and check the system on a regular basis. The image has been printed and has now been removed. I used to put the laptop and turn it off with the power switch and not by windows, stop facilities. This no longer works. After lifting the lid, press the power button / nothing happens. However pressing the icon of music "in a box with 6 Sparks coming from it" (sorry for the pathetic description) the portable lights. Windows Vitsa appears and first seems to be ok. During boot a message saying:

  WHAT CAN I DO IF ANYTHING TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS / QUESTIONS?

  In my opinion in the first case, there must be some physical damage and I do not think there is something you can do to fix it. I guess that laptop must be disassembled and port/switch WLAN must be controlled by technicians.

  About second question I can not say much, but in my opinion you should back up all your important data and reinstall the OS using recovery media delivered. With clean OS preinstalled, you can test the WLAN functionality again and the functionality of the power button.

  I know that this is a more radical method, but do what you will be able to test the functionality of the laptop with the State factory and without some strange files or entries in OS preinstalled.

  What do you think of all this?

  Well, as far as I know the HARD drive recovery procedure is the same procedure as the use of the Recovery DVD.
  In both cases the laptop will be set to factory settings which means that you will get the same data on the HARD drive as on the first day of purchase
  So it need to format the HARD drive and should restore again uses the image of Toshiba.

  But if you want to know if the second partition will be deleted and then created again and then store a small file on the second partition and then perform the procedure of HARD drive recovery.

  After installing the OS has finished go to the second partition and check if the same file that is always present on the second partition.

  You can try to remove the adapter AC/DC and battery. Wait one hour and then reconnect the adapter AC/DC and battery.

  If it doesn t work the laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop. I think that the motherboard could be defective.

  Hi all

  I have an Equium P200 1ir and my screen has been crazy, color errors everywhere.
  I followed the problem down to be a cut wire in the cable of the internal lcd screen.

  My question is: where can I buy a cable lcd screen replacement for this machine that the screen itself is fine.

  I have searched all over the web and have had no joy. If possible can someone Toshiba advise me to buy the lead...

  Hi new to this forum... got the Equium P200-178 since last year and everything was very well, how ever I downloaded the program Tempo which alerts me up to dates, but when I supported the update for my computer, extract the files then run update the computer some how will then says that it is impossible to install the program on my computer. Y at - it anthing I could do wrong. Any help would be great.

  To be honest, if your laptop works well and stabile, you need not update. The single update can be useful, and this is the package of added value.

• P200-178 will not recognise printer network

  Any help is appreciated with this. We bought an Equium P200-178 to replace an older laptop, but we also currently have a desktop computer. These two share, via a reuter, an Epson Stylus DX6000 printer without no problem running. Two laptops to our grandson also connect via the network to the printer without any problems. When I try to connect the P200 to this printer using the "Add Printer Wizard" I repeatedly receive messages that it is impossible to find this printer. The connection with the Netgear reuter is listed as 'excellent' and we're all perplexed by this. No doubt there is something very simple which has been neglected, but unable to understand what something is.

• Satellite P200-178 had problems opening the game

  HI I am new to laptops and do not know much about computers, I bought an equium p200-178 on Friday.
  Having not used vista before that I was just looking around on it and thought, I want to play cards which is preinstalled, then I had problems at the opening of the game.

  It starts in a small window, so I enlarged it and started to play then all of a sudden the window returned to the small window so I have contributed the most it once again and it's once again.

  I called pcworld and was on the phone for 25mins A £1.50 per minute; They said to take it back because it was old 2 hours with the techguys in less than 24 hours and it's still they have reinstalled from start with the reboot disk.
  Then they said to try the view model. It was the same, and they said that it must be a bug on each of them and gave me a refund.
  Has anyone else had the same problems?

  I guess that it is a matter simply of game or the game does not support the common preinstalled graphics card driver!

  Have you checked if the game is Vista compatible? Please don t be angry with me, but these things need to be tested as the first!

  A lot of games does not support versions of different graphics card driver.
  I recommend using and testing drivers of different graphics cards if the game cannot start or is not running properly.

  You can rotate the screen in different position.
  AFAIK, display position can be enabled by using the ctrl + shift + R key combination.
  This really works on laptops with nVidia cards.

  Other graphics cards could use another association as CTRL + ALT and upward or to the LEFT or down or to the RIGHT
