CD/dvd drive reads all discs
I have Dell inspiron 6000 with windows XP home. My Cd/DVD drive was working fine. Able to play any disc. Now, recently, he stopped recognizising all disks. I tried to get back the driver, updating the driver, uninstalling the driver and reload the driver, without success. I remember, previously, that I had similar problem a few years back when I downloaded the SP3 and microsft corrected using my computer remotely. I don't know what they were doing. But again today same problem. Microsoft will not help as they say now want to pay now. Could you help to get my cd/dvd drive works again. Thank you

It reads CD but not DVD at all.
No DVD - R and DVD not yet regular. I checked the DVD region.
I reinstalled the driver and also tried with different software.
What can I do?
Help, please!Hello
It is possible that your DVD drive incorrect region settings.
In this case, it is not able to watch all possible movies to DVD from different regions.
Of course, you can change the settings for 4 times. But after this change, the parameters have been set and it is not possible to change more. -

my dvd player reads all movies what do I do to get it working.
my dvd player reads all movies what do I do to get it working.
I had this happen to my DVD player recently. The problem was that the disc I was trying to see it used a copy protection system is not yet implemented by my DVD player. Normally, I don't have the DVD player connected to the network, so he had not received the updates of the firmware since I bought the player. After that I connected it, you download an update of the firmware and I could see the movie.
My recommendation to you is to see if the manufacturer of the DVD drive has an update of the firmware of your player on the website of the company and, if so, has it, then test again.

Satellite L755-1N6 CD/DVD drive reads scans to disk but no disc inserted
Hi all!
Yesterday, I bought a brand new Satellite L755-1N6 and I must say that I am very satisfied with this product.
Of course, except one thing...For some reason any my Player CD OFTEN reads/scans / searches (?) for CD/DVD even if no disc is inside! It's large notebook, but frequent ringing of CD drive is very very annoying and it is not normal.
He's trying to 'read cd' for approximately every 5 minutes (give or take a few minutes). I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. If please, if anyone has experienced this problem and do you know what this is all about?
BTW I have disabled Autoplay setting, although I think that it doesn't matter anyway.
It happened at least twice while I was writing this post...Hello
Have you noticed some click sound coming from the CD/DVD drive?
I found this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=64919It is very similar to that described in your thread.
Disable the + Toshiba PC Health Monitor + in msconfig Startup tab and restart the device.
Then test if the sound has disappeared. -

CD rw-cd rom drive... not reading all discs.
OK, so I bought a studio of dell in January. 2009... it came with a regular training who rewrote the CD and reads the DVD. and a blue ray player. My Blue Ray works for everything, including burning cds\dvds. the standard drive reads cds and dvds but not CDs software, also would not read any kind of cd serious if it had music, photos, video, or software. After one of three days he would have completely read only new music CD. I didn't care to send the com for a new cdrom drive and they would eventually wipe my drive which I had installed new programs. which allow only install once. so I stopped completely to help this drive after unsuccessfully for the dell Diagnostics Web page. now im wondering if I should just replace the drive of CD-ROM. my com. said very well his work through all the tests of systems etc... Thank you
Hello
1. are you able to use these discs without any problem on the other computer?
2 have. what troubleshooting steps you tried?

Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
