Equium P300 - control buttons do not work currently running Win XP

Hi, I'm looking for help with a problem with a laptop Equium P300.

This is my brother's laptop, he bought about 18 months ago, it came with Vista, he did not want what he preferred to have XP, so I changed the XP operating system by using the drivers available on the Toshiba Web site, update the appropriate drivers.

This has worked well for the last 18 months, however, recently, when the laptop is off, touch-sensitive shortcut keys remain lit, even when disconnected from the power supply and do not work.
Previously, if it has been disabled and you press one of the keys shortcut the laptop turns on but is no longer doing this.

I wonder if anyone has had this experience before?
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or even what the cause of the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Keith

Hello

You use Win XP on this laptop, then you must update the BIOS because there is a special BIOS for Win XP!
In addition, the Toshiba multimedia control buttons are controlled by tool controls of Toshiba. You can download it from the page of the Toshiba driver.

Regarding the buttons of enlightenment;
AFAIK you can enabled and disable in the BIOS itself!
Check the BIOS settings,

Welcome them

    Hello

The problem is that you need install Microsoft patches before you continue installing the audio driver.

I found some useful tips and advice in this forum and it seems that you need to install the
KB888111 and KB835221 hotfix before installing the sound driver.

    Hello everyone

I have Windows Vista 64-bit installed on my Qosmio F30, but before operation buttons do not work.
I tried to use the 32-bit configuration of Vista drivers, but when I press it, I got the following error: "this function not taken in charge.

So please can someone help me to overcome this problem.

    Hello

You cannot use these Toshiba control buttons (play, pause, etc.) because the necessary drivers are not installed.

You will need a compatible Vista value added package, but it seems that Toshiba page does not provide the 64-bit VAP but only the 32-bit version.
The problem is that the software for Vista 32 bit does not work on Vista 64 bit OS.

In my opinion so there's nothing to do right now

  • Equium A100 av buttons do not work properly

I have a satellite a100 with play buttons pause and f/r on the left side of the keyboard. Suddenly and without apparent reason, two of them refused to work. Only the stop button and the button of the internet will continue to operate? It would be a software problem or do you not think that the buttons are broken inside the machine?

    Hello

I don t think that the laptop or command buttons are broken. In my opinion the Toshiba control utility will not work. Why? Who knows? Maybe there's something wrong with the registry entries.

I recommend you to download the Toshiba control tool and the common modules of the driver page.
First remove the old controls of the operating system. Then restart the computer, reinstall the common modules and the new command buttons Toshiba utility.
After restarting the laptop buttons should again work.

Good luck and have a guy day ;)

  • Headphone control buttons does not work

    Hello

I just used my V - Moda Crossfade LP to listen to the music and tried my control buttons. They do not work so I tried a few Ks AKG and buttons do not work also. Do I have to download an app or?

A solution would be really nice!

    Hi Chris9292,

As far as I know, these models are manufactured for Apple devices. There could be some compatibility issues at a Xperia device with buttons and the microphone. For example, if you click on the following link:
    http://v-Moda.com/crossfade-LP/

They include the following: cable microphone 3 remote buttons control calls and music, as well as the volume on most smartphones and tablets, including the latest Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, iPod and Macbook (only compatible with Apple products volume)

A third party may be accessory need more power than the phone can provide some. (If possible), I suggest that you connect Sony headphones to use this device to see if you encounter the same behavior.

  • Control buttons do not work after the new installation OS on Equium A100-147

After Installing Win XP manually, I am facing problem for the multimedia keys on the left side of the laptop work.

I am able to access the first button to launch Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player but still keys Play/Stop / > /.< not="" working="" with="" windows="" media="">

I read in these forums that these keys work only with WinDVD or Windows Media Player with CD/DVD in. But I was able to use these keys with MP3 files in Windows Media Player.

I don't want to use the restore CD.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hello

Of course you can use it with mp3 files. The files are probably listed in the WMP library, and you can use all of the buttons. There is nothing unusual.

If you cannot use all those buttons in WMP when music CD is in the drive or you if the WMP library is open I recommend you remove TOSHIBA controls reboot the device and install again. Maybe it will work again.

    Hello

Are you talking about the function F1 - F9 keys?
These buttons work as part of the FN command; That is, Fn + F5

The value added package so that the utility Support Toshiba Flash card must be installed in order to use flash cards (the menu on the screen indicating the function buttons)

These pieces of software can be downloaded here:

  • Qosmio G40: Vista Ultimate - control buttons do not work properly

    Hello friends,

I have a Qosmio G40 for a few months and everything works well until now.
The problem is related to the front control panel.

If I use Windows Media Player, PLAY/STOP/PAUSE/FORWARD/BACKWARD buttons work well, but if I try to use the other buttons like REC (in any case) or turning on LEDS or DOLBY, the button makes the usual sound, but nothing happens, does not open any program that is supposed to open.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening. I tried to look for any software configuration of these buttons but can't seem to find.

My system is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

    Best regards

    Hello

The European driver Toshiba page provides the AV controller Manager
This tool allows you to customize and TOSHIBA AV Control button preset settings.

Maybe you should install this tool and it should check again.

In addition, it would be advisable to reinstall the VAP

    Check it out!

One of my friends had the similar problem and he has reinstalled the VFR too.

He used the recovery disc and then everything worked again

I don't know why this happened, but maybe it has something to do with MS updates

In addition, you will need to install the Toshiba c. 2.48.2.2C controls.

    Hello
But if you used CD recovery provided then the program must be installed. If this isn't the case, then just look here and download the software:

    Then it should work.

  • Control buttons do not work on Satellite A300 with Win XP

    Hello

A few days ago, I bought a new Toshiba A300-1MX.
I had windows XP installed. Service Pack 3. BIOS is version 1.50 (told in the BIOS).

The problem: my brilliant media keys do not work. They simply do not respond.
    Anyone with any suggestions?

I downloaded the driver for models commute for XP and the utility hotkey for XP, and after installing it, the FN keys work (ESC, F1-5-6-7-10-11) (although that might not work F2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 12).

    Thank you people.
    Sascha

Because the A300-1MX belongs to the series PSAGCE, you must choose and download the XP drivers for this model.

I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and there is a BIOS 1.40 only. So Don t understand why you talk about 1.50 Bios.

Second, Toshiba media buttons will work if you install the Toshiba utility controls on the page.
Finally and above all, you need the common Modules for the FN buttons work.
Only FN as F9 keys for example need an additional tool like Touch Pad on / off Utility
The Fn F2 or F3 FN will work if a power gain has been installed and hibernation is enabled.

So, as you can see you need more tools!

  • Window control buttons does not work

In each open window of the Min/Max/close buttons are broken. They appear, react to the mouse over, but are not min/max/close when you click on it. It is quite possible, I chose a weird option when messing around in the preferences, but it seems weird to leave in a menu.

Shortcuts keyboard seem to work very well, but do a right-click on the title of the window in the bar of tasks leads to the open window, min/max/close not either.

    Help?

It looks like maybe a whole lot of file system got corrupted (those that control windows functions) - and it's kind of logic because it would make sense that they are somehow in the same place.  I hope that SFC or chkdsk can repair corruption and fix the problem - otherwise we will have to do a re-install (but we'll wait and see what happens with the rest of the procedures before launch us the firearm).

I'm sorry the system restore does not work - this is one of the best tools to deal with this type of problem (this is why I normally suggest it first).

Good luck and thanks for the update.

    Hello

I know what has been said before, but I couldn't find any solution that would work in my case.

I have U400 (PSU40E) with Vista SP2 installed on my system.
I have problems with quick launch buttons (Media Player, next song, etc.).

    Description of the problem:
    * 1 backlight button doesn't work (media player button)
    * No quicklaunch button works
    * media player button is lit even when the computer is completely shut down
    * problem not SP2 as it was also present with SP1

    So far attempted:
    Reinstalling Drivers chipset
    relocation of VAP
    * track the stages of http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=127504

You have the same problems with Toshiba command buttons by using the image of preinstalled Toshiba?
I think that the image of Toshiba would solve this problem

I have a U400 with XP and Vista OS (dual boot) and all my buttons work properly; XP and Vista.

So it must be a problem with your base of registry or something like that
