  Thank you for your message.  To clarify, you try to clear the same CD?  If Yes, a DVD/CD does not really clear, it's just the unreadable CD.  Data that has been repries on the disc are always repeated, just add to it when you delete and add others.  Please let us know if it helped to solve your problem.

  I have a pavilliondvd6000 hp, it was working fine until I upgraded to the latest version of itunes 9.0.3.15 software once the cd/dvd drive has disappeared, and when I open itunes I get the following message "the registry settings used by the iTunes for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing." This can happen as a result of the installation of other cd burning software. Reinstall itunes"apparently know his problem than itunes and windows but nothing seems to fix. I re installled itunes several times without success. in Device Manager there is no current disk drive. Mr fixit won't fix it. removing the upper and lower drivers in regedit will not solve it. deleting the afs.sys files is not a problem, these files do not exist. However, the drive works, has the power, spins the discs etc. I followed the complex instructions to both the windows and apple and nothing can get back my dvd. any other suggestions?

• DVD drive does not burn/erase RS - Satellite P100-347

  I bought a Toshiba Satellite p100-347 PSPA6E laptop computer. It has a DVD burner with model number: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N (firmware pt06). It has capabilities to burn any DVD (please see example using dvdino: http://tinyurl.com/2hbpqv).

  However, I can't rewrite on my Maxell dvd + rw (1.4 x speed) dvd. whenever I go to a software application to erase a dvd that I wrote on, it says unrecognized format. For example, Nero says "this disc is not rewritable and therefore can not be deleted. Please insert a rewritable disc.

  The disc is rewritable because it says on the cover and also it burns on my friends rewritable dvd burner :(

  As you probably know, readers don t support all kinds of media.
  I mean not every CD - R, DVD - RW, CD + RW, DVD + RW, and so on, average is supported.
  I can confirm these issues in my practical knowledge I tested for several months and many media, I use the TDK on my laptop and only CD or DVD media.
  They work best with my drive...

  But I'll give you a tip:
  You should remove other software burning like sonic, etc if you use Nero. The joint software sometimes makes trouble.

• Equium A110-252 freezes after formatting DVD - RW

  Bought the computer laptop satellite A110-252 a couple of days to replace my desktop computer that mistaken for suicide. I try to create DVDs to play on my DVD, AVI and WMV player using the supplied software ie. InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2.

  The first attempt, converting a small file WMV MPEG-2, burned and played but when I went back to erase/format the disc and burn full disk file had been damaged and marked read-only, windows completely Explorer freeze because he tried to access the D: / drive.

  In addition, all attempts convert and burn the result in no data being burned and the drive being rendered useless later. Did not attempt any burn more that I am running out of discs to test.

  Hmmm, believe me, it of not easy to say what's wrong or why it occurs.

  How have you tried to erase the DVD - RW? What applications did you use?
  It seems that the application caused the laptop freezing.
  Why? Who knows try using another type of DVD - RW and try to use various means to erase the DVD - RW.

  I tried to get my straightened computer, do not make much progress.  I have a Macrium Reflect program that burns an ISO image on a hard drive external.  I struggled to try to get a picture to check out as good.  Finally exasperated trying to burn the data to an ISO partition.  At the time I don't bother to check it out. When I finally checked it (today), it doesn't have to check.  This means that my data Partition is too damaged.  How can I do to solve this?

  I uninstalled virtually everything trying to find th conflicts.  I even went up to get a Vista 32 bit SP2 CD and try to do a repair.  Thought I had fixed the problem, but obviously her whatever it is, does not work.

  I must also tell you that my system restore does not work either.

  I regularly use Reflect and I'm not what you did. When you say
  I think that "Macrium Reflect that burns an ISO image on a hard drive external.
  you mean, Macrium Reflect creates an image of your HARD drive partitions file
  on your external hard drive. It can also burn the image file to a blank space or
  erasable CD/DVD. IME, it does not create ISOs.
   
  That said, it seems that verification errors you see may be due
  partly due to your lack of familiarity with the program Reflect. I suggest you
  post your question in the forums of Macrium, or take advantage of their online
  tutorial to create an image of the partition.

  I taped prog tv in media Center on a dvd - rw.

  How now erase the disc so that I can use it again?

  If you have NERO Burning ROM then put the DVD - RW erase in your burner DVD and go in the NERO program.
  Then proceed as follows:

  1) click on "Recorder"
  2) click on 'Choose recorder' menu drop-down
  3) click on your DVD writer drive in the 'Choose recorder' and then click on the 'OK' button at the bottom of this window.
  4) click on "Recorder" again when you return to the window of NERO Burning ROM,.
  (5) click on "erase rewritable" in the dropdown.
  (6) the "erase a CD - RW" window should come and indicate "Non-rewritable Quick-erase" (if not select it) then click on the button 'Clear' at the bottom of the window. When ceases the burner, the DVD must be erased. You can check it out by clicking "Recorder" in the NERO Burning ROM window and then click on "Medium Info" in the menu drop down.
