erratic uncontrollable movement on the monitor screen

The erratic movement, as if everything on the screen moves vertically or rolling. It takes 15-20 minutes, then returns to normal. Meanwhile I can nothing except try to close the screen or shut down the computer. This happens several times during the day.

Hi Sandra,.

Here are a few things that you try.

1. make sure that the wires to the screen of the central unit are connected correctly. (If you are using a desktop computer)

2 start the computer in safe mode and try to correct the blink rate.

Safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Correct monitor flicker rate: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

3. If the problem persists, try to uninstall and reinstall the adpaters screen.

a. click Start , and then type DEVMGMT. SMC in the startup search box and press ENTER.
b. click the forward arrow of graphics cards, make a right click on the video driver , and then click Uninstall.
c. you may be prompted to uninstall the driver software, please insert a check mark to have the driver is completely removed from the system.
d. restart the computer.

Windows will automatically try to install the video drivers. If this isn't the case, please visit the computer manufacturer to download the latest display drivers.

4. try to run a full scan on the computer to ensure that it is virus-free.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Just to check if the monitor is defective:

Press the menu button on the screen and bring up the onscreen menu. If this menu moves then the problem may be with the monitor.

Hope this information is useful. If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • CTRL-Alt-2 moves to the second screen windows - how to disable

    Hello

I have a new computer to dual screen in Windows 8.  When I do Ctrl + Alt + 2, my current window is moved to the screen 2 (and equivalent to 1).  Does anyone know if it is a shortcut of Windows 8 or another utility?  I have a nVidia graphics card and the 7200LE Panel is not shortcut (besides the stereoscopic 3D features that are disabled).

The problem is that Windows seems to treat the key ALT GR (right Alt key for the keyboard layout of the French-Canada) as a combination of Ctrl + Alt, then when I press Alt Gr + 2 to type the symbol @, my window also moves to the second screen.  The equivalent problem is when I type the ± symbol (AltGr + 1 gives my character, and move the window), but this isn't as big a problem.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to disable the Ctrl + Alt + 2 sets of shortcuts, or how to make windows treat differently the keys Ctrl + Alt, AltGr do let me know.

    Thank you
    IM

I had the same problem, and in my case it was a third-party application that came with a USB to DVI adapter.

The utility is called "MCTDUtil.exe" and is in "\Program Files".

It has a visible icon called "Super Utility".  There, you have a menu called "Multi Display Control Panel".  The Ctrl-Alt-1 and Ctrl-Alt-2 are mapped to do exactly this: move the window being displayed 1 and 2 respectively.  You can disable the feature of this Panel.

I suspect that this utility is not necessary and can be removed.

  • Captivate 7 How have hit (right arrow) to make the simulation to move to the next screen

I'm building a simulation and need some keystrokes to create the action to move to the next screen.  Example: The user is prompted to press the right arrow key to make the screen to move to the next screen.  I have to be able to set up failure messages when the user presses an invalid key.  I don't know what I should use.  I tried text boxes, but they need to be entered in the text.  Thanks in advance

CTRL is a combination key... will not work as a shortcut key, even for ALT and SHIFT. System expects another key in combination with these keys.

  • Windows move to the main screen when sleeping Satellite-S50T-B

Satellite S50T-B, Windows 8.1. Whenever my laptop sleeps, it moves all the icons and windows open on the secondary external monitor on the laptop monitor. Like a lover double screen, it's extremely annoying. I keep having to set up my work space.

I expect that there is a bug in the video driver, which means that she sees the monitor off as a result of the command 'sleep' of the laptop as a monitor "unplugged" and it is reported to the operating system for the operating system moves all the icons and windows on the main screen, so when I turn again, they are all in the wrong place.

Please note that the disappearance of the screen as a direct result of it being sent a sleep command should not be interpreted in any way other than the monitor to sleep as said.

The graphics driver is old way... When can we expect an update?
When I can see a fix for this frustrating problem?

    Hello

If you would google for this problem, you will find a lot of discussions and information about this system.

From my point of few this issue is linked to the State in sleep mode. There are the States of sleep mode (S0, S1, S2, S3, S4)

S3 is generally the default standby mode, while the S4 is generally the mode of hibernation by default.

Bad track or show the wrong adapter.  If you connect the monitor to another computer and the screen is pink while the monitor is bad if you connect another monitor well known on your computer and the screen is pink then the graphics card is bad.

  • Help! Picture on the screen is 3 X - 4 X larger than the surface of the monitor screen...

It happened all of a sudden and continued for several days. I use the arrow to 'slide' the image around (no need to click... the screen moves in the opposite direction, "hang" the arrow (rt/lft upwards or downwards.) The arrow also sometimes emits a square made from a dotted line thar emits from it. There is also an audible scratching sound as if he is rubbing against the inside of the glass. I tried to change the DPI in the Control Panel, which only makes the script and forms very small... the background is huge!  I tried also to 'restore' to one hour earlier, at least 10 times... It is never successful and tells me to try again. I recently completed a 30 day trial of Internet Download Manager... I don't have no 'save' as he massaged the things when I was in Chrome (my usual browser). He returned to some company (in Spain) and it's free if I use this shopping deal-maker that they installed. I can't do anything on the net. It takes forever to drag the screen around until a point where I can scroll or click. "I don't know if it's connected, but my extentions 'Scroll up' and quick cleaning for Chrome" do not work, even if enabled. And my icon for the volume control in the taskbar has disappeared and in the Control Panel, the request to replace and "Windows cannot locate the program" should be in C: / / something. Should I destroy the IDM? Are they spoil things? I can't "Restore", which always helped with problems before. Thanks in advance for ANY INFO or suggestions, because I am lost, confused and clumsy in technical applications of the innards of the computer.

  • When I connect the HDTV office moves to the laptop screen HDMI TV.

Original title: taskbar with HDMI output

When I plug my TV in my HDMI output on my laptop, task bar of the window (with the start menu and open programs) always defaults to the TV screen instead of stay on the laptop screen.  Someone knows how can I change the default location for the task bar so that it stays on the screen of the laptop?  Thank you!!

    Hello

The HDMI TV is defined as the main display on your computer monitor. To change the same to your laptop.
    Here's how:
    a. right-click on an empty space on the desktop and click on the screen resolution.
    b. at the top, you will see the current main screen with the Start Menu in the lower left.
NOTE: If you are unsure which monitor who is, then click on the button to display the number on the screen to match with identity.
    c. at the top, click on the numbered display device (ex: monitor, projector or TV HDMI) you want to make your primary display to have its established border highlight.
    d. check the brand that my hand display and click OK to apply.
NOTE: You will notice that when you check this box, the Menu start now we in this numbered display.

    I hope this helps.

  • What is the best program or how to check an image on the monitor screen (contrast/color, etc.)

    Hello

In ACR I adjust the image so that it looks OK to me.

But there are a few differences in the cab and PS visualization of the image (color, contrast, etc.).

In programs like foto-viewer of windows , there is another difference (compared to ACR and PS) > > images have more contrast and darker than the visualization in PS

Another program Irfanview shows the image with less color (saturisation).

I did a test print (in a center of the photo), this picture translates into something between Irfanview and Psalm

    Question:

What is the best program or way to adjust the color / contrast, etc to make me a photo-image (on paper) which is the same as what I see on the screen of the monitor mij.

Probably still a problem with color management.

PS is color managed, will honor an embedded profile (or tag) in an image and to 'bend' the colors according to the color space of image and its supported monitor.  Check the color settings to see if / what that PS takes in what concerns monitor color space and image profiles.  Other programs are not color management and send the RGB values directly to the monitor.

You can't see a difference if the image has an sRGB profile (or none), but that say a picture comes up with its Adobe 1998 color space.  Photoshop will honor but other programs will not, then you will see a net difference of saturation.  Adobe 1998 being a larger color space, it uses small differences between R, G, B to a saturation of the color indicated that would exist in sRGB, so seen in a managed application without colors, the image will appear less saturated than in PS.  And other "Pitfalls" that can cause the effect reverses.

You must have a minimum knowledge of color management to be able to reconcile various appearance of the image between the various applications.

  • T43 will not move past the first screen

My mother gave me this thinkpad because he had a virus (Windows shield Center) and he locked her out of her computer. She could always use Safe Mode, however. When I initially got tried to start, but he walls me an error message "missing hal.dll" and told me to reinstall windows, which I did not.

I thought that this could be a fluke, but now the ThinkPad won't even go past the first screen that says "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue Access IBM button" without worrying if I press that key, or, the function keys.

This is as far as I came. What are my next steps?

This looks like a start of a failure of SouthBridge chips which is very common on these machines.

Remove the keyboard (but keep that he attached), the palmrest and the wireless card.

Turn on the machine, then * gently * press the big square under the slot wireless chip.

If the machine starts normally whenever the square is pressed, a SouthBridge chip failure.

    Good luck.

  • Text for the username variable input area moves to the next screen when you click

I assigned a username variable to a text entry area. If I mouse click inside the text box to enter a name, I am taken to the next screen. In other words, the entry text box seems to act like a button. Is there something I need to change in the Properties window to prevent this?

    Hi Eddie,.

You have 2 possible actions: a by clicking on the button (success), a when you click outside the button (the rest of the slide) which is a failure. And you can attach an action at a time. The default action for both is 'Continue', which means that the head of reading which has been suspended by the button, will continue. You don't want that to happen if the user clicks on the button, but outside the key (like by clicking in the field ETB). This is the reason why recommended Manish allows you to change the action for failure to 'No action', which means that nothing will happen if the user clicks outside the button. He can then click in the text field and type its entry.
