  I recently purchased Office 2010, and when I went to install it, it looks like "error" and then cancel the installation.

  After reviewing the various things on my computer, I noticed that my windows update service was not working (I don't know how long this has been the case)

  It gives me just error 80070424 everytime I try to use it.

  I tried checking services, and everything worked...

  When I checked these forums, I noticed that someone with a similar problem was invited to enter the following in the command line:

  net stop wuauserv, and then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll, then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll, and then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wudriver.dll, and then press enter
  regsvr32 wups2.dll then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll, then press enter
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuwebv.dll, and then press enter
  net start wuauserv, and then press enter

  When I tried, the following happened:

  net stop wuauserv-success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll - success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll - success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll - success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wudriver.dll - unsuccessful
  regsvr32 wups2.dll - success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll - success
  regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuwebv.dll - success
  net start wuauserv-success

  If this is the problem, how should I do? (If not, what else can I try?)

  (Also, if there is nothing to do with why I can't install office, please tell me)

  Thank you for your message.  Error 80070426 usually refers to a Non-genuine problem.  I'll move this thread Forum install & Activate.  In the meantime, give phone activation suddenly.

  1. Click Start, and then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
  2. press enter on your keyboard
  3. Select your country.
  4. Select the option to activate the phone, then call and hold to a real person.
