I downloaded a program called Driver Checker - then updated all my drivers. Now, I can't use my wireless connection! I restarted. I've probably got the wrong driver? How can I get the right one back please? Steve ps I also got:

And now you know why these programs "driver checker" are useless. I hope that you do not have anything for her. Yes, you must install the correct drivers for your wireless network card. General information of pilots:
The first law of Driver Updates is "if it's not broken, don't fix it". Normally if everything works, you want to leave things as they are. The exception is that heavy players usually want to update their video and sound drivers for every last bit of absolute performance of the equipment to get the best frame rate. If you are not one of these people, you need not update your drivers, if there is no problem you're trying to solve.
Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:
1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).
Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.
To find out what hardware is in your computer:
1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

http://www.gtopala.com/ - System Information for Windows
If you have installed the drivers from Windows Update, you can roll them back:

JohnWhenever I try to connect to the internet, he says I am 'offline '. I uncheck in offline mode in tools and in the file. It keeps coming back to 'in offline mode. Regarding the Working Offline symptom, my guess is that you have another software that is intercepting a command prompt and in responding to default from the command prompt, which unfortunately is offline. There is still a low probability that the guest is can naturually cause but do not then seen that any entry you take is interpreted as choose the guest work offline option but there is no other way that he might happen as always as you seem to be implying IMO.
So, have you tried to make a start in safe mode with networking? In this way, you could at least see the command prompt, understand how it causes your symptoms and respond manually one way or the other.
Probably this part of your symptoms will disappear as soon as you get your major fixed network problems, so this is the right forum to do so.
However, I think you should describe your network configuration. For example what you see may explain the presence of a wireless router that connected locally before had established an Internet connection through the modem. The address of the router is what you would see your DNS address but he wouldn't able to provide search services until the rest of the connection has been made.
If this scenario describes yours, instead of trying to connect to the Internet immediately, try to connect to the router to use its diagnostics to check whether there is a connection to the Internet, for example to use his address in an address bar of IE. Then you can go back to a window cmd and do the checks for DNS connectivity, by example of ipconfig/all and nslookup ping. Then only you would try do something remotely with your browser (for example something requiring a reverse DNS lookup) and thus avoid the symptom of Working Offline.
I normally answer questions in the forum, IE and noticed your message while he was there, so I answer here now in any case.
