What happens if something can do to remedy this?

    Hello

Just to put you in tune with my problem.

They sent me two more host regional centres 3 and 2.0.

I plugged the 2.0 directly into a filter and then into the master socket.  All the lights were blue.

Then, I plugged the phone line on the same filter and got a tone.

As soon as I checked tone BB light has started flashing on the new homepage Hub2.0.

I then plugged a filter separated from older style (came with my BT Voyager 220V router) of the phone line then connected the filter to an old outlet that I haven't used for more than 10 years.

BB blue light stayed stable on the 2.0.

I was able to make a call on my phone without the BB stall DECT.

I tried 5 filters total on the BB line and the phone, which came with each of the new hubs.

It was just a fluke that I thought to use the old style filter that I used when my old router was in place.

I received a phone call this morning BT say they had gone as far as they could go with their tests and were sending a technician to check the master socket and internal wiring, with a warning that there will be a surcharge of £99 if my son was at fault.

You can imagine what I told them to do?

You were correct in your assumption that it is almost always the filter that is causing the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • HTTP error 12029 has something to do with my configuration of firewall for Windows XP. My internet will not pass by for my mainframe... Suggestions?

    See title

XP behaves a little differently from Windows 7 or Vista.  The first edition (before Service Pack 1) had a lot of questions and by releasing SP1, you could not make it back in the original XP.   There are four packs of service out there for XP so you can search the Internet and make sure that the latest service pack is on your machine. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322389

Assuming that you have the latest, the firewall is available mainly to keep people on the internet to take advantage of open ports and such that your application can use for internet communication, so when you configure firewall rules, you have set up for most of the inbound rules.   If there are viruses on your machine, you can configure outgoing rules, but it would be better to run a fix for the virus.

Knowing that the firewall is designed to protect you from the internet, it might be useful to check if the firewall you have installed is sophisticated enough to enable rules that block your machine to go to the internet (outbound rules).

But your problem is 12029 who is likely related to internet explore.  You can try a question that was answered on this subject http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-windows_update/error-12029-in-ie-8/47a865dc-3237-4e07-84a9-d9fb20a766e3

I created a VM 2 R2 W2K8-64 and a teacher-WXP-SP3 on my VM Worstation 7. They work very well. Now, I tried to take this VM 2 our VM Server 2.0.2 where I have more memory on my lapop and to put them in the inventory. Converter running is overkill for this task: a single copy is fine.

You just need a small edit in the file vmx VMserver cannot manage VMs who have enabled the feature of Thinprint.

Open the vmx file and remove these lines:

    Serial0.FileType = "thinprint".
    Serial0.present = 'TRUE '.

And now you know why these programs "driver checker" are useless. I hope that you do not have anything for her. Yes, you must install the correct drivers for your wireless network card. General information of pilots:

The first law of Driver Updates is "if it's not broken, don't fix it". Normally if everything works, you want to leave things as they are. The exception is that heavy players usually want to update their video and sound drivers for every last bit of absolute performance of the equipment to get the best frame rate. If you are not one of these people, you need not update your drivers, if there is no problem you're trying to solve.

Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

  • "due to an unidentified problem, windows cannot display windows firewall settings" fixed but still can not visit some sites and the laptop now turns off the coast on me. What should I do?

I have an Apire one laptop with Windows xp service pace 3. I had to restore it to factory about 3 years ago. Some time after that the sound system began to slow and the Synaptics mouse stop working properly. I can move the pointer, but the left click does not work. It works in safe mode but not in normal windows. I used the Acer eRecovery for correct, but it did not work. I tried to download the driver for the mouse on the internet, but some how it could stop the download. I gave up at tring to fix. Some time in late March or early April, I couldn't access internet and after 22:30. I ran the diagnosis that is provided by internet explore and he said that the HTTP and HTTPS worked but the FTP did not work. AVG later told me my firewall is disabled and there was the possibility to reactivate it and I did. After internet explore stop allowing you to enter certain sites that I wanted to enter, I ran the Diagnostics again and he told me that a firewall client has been the cause of the problem. I tried to control my firewall setting, but had that "due to a problem not identified, windows cannot display the firewall settings". I thought AVG was the problem, so I have unintalled then he returned and attempted to access the firewall but got the same message. I typed in Google MySapce and found this site. I followed a few directions given to others in the thread started by joecarpenter33 and discovered that my firewall has been deleted and Base filtering engine has been deleted also. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes ANti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition and tdsskiller. MBAM has found a Trojan. The results of the analysis is less to:

    Hello

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

To start the computer in safe mode: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 2.

If the steps above do not help, then try to scan the computer using Windows defender in offline mode and check if that helps.

Search for spyware and other potentially unwanted software: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Scan-for-spyware-and-other-potentially-unwanted-software

What is Windows Defender Offline? : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 3.

You can create a new user account and check. Once the new user account works fine, then copy the data from the old user account for the user account.

  • Cannot make connection HTTp. Winsock reset necessary. Tried the Fix - it!

    Hello

We are running Windows XP SP3.

These days, Internet explorer will not display the page (other browsers do not work either!). Antivirus programs can update and Skype works so I know we have a connectivity.

I tried the troubleshooting thing that provides Internet Explorer and it says to a Winsock reset. I downloaded Microsoft Fix - it 50203 with another computer on a CD and ran it, but it has not solved the problem. Network Diagnostics also said that it is successfully connected to www.microsoft.com andFTP.Microsoft.comsite, but under HTTP it says there is an error 12029 connecting towww.microsoft.com and that he could not make an HTTP connection. System Restore does not work for some reason any.

What should I do now? Any help is appreciated!

Another thing, I have to add is that we did a scan for malware and it found several Trojan horses that have been deleted but unfortunately it did not help!

The sound of symptoms as some ports are allowed to pass through (Skype probably uses a single port and updates Antivirus probably use FTP (port 21)), while the other ports are not allowed to pass.  See if you can connect to https:// sites.  This symptom can occur from a few sources.  One is a firewall.  Check your firewall settings and make sure that there are no blocks on http: Protocol (port 80).  Another is filtering TCP/IP you can set on your network card.  Even if the following article indicates to Windows 2000, it seems to apply as well for XP.  Make sure that there is no check in the box for "enable TCP/IP filtering:

"How to configure filtering in Windows 2000 TCP/IP.

A third cause is a corrupted - stack, usually caused by a bad deletion of malware.  In these cases, I find that one of the following programs freeware can sometimes fix this, when nothing else can.

  • IE 8 does not connect to internet

I've looked through the different answers here and couldn't really find something that takes care of my question.

I have never really used IE and I only found it does not work, because one of my games cannot connect to patch (Age of Conan).

Someone on the Forum game suggested that it deals with Internet Explorer. I am able to connect to the internet using Firefox very well and have no problem using Windows Live Messenger.

My OP is Win XP. I checked my firewall and added some AoC and IE as exceptions. I also checked everything under the advanced firewall settings (FTP server, Web server, etc).

This is the part of the IE Diagnostics log.

    HTTP, HTTPS, FTP connectivity

Info HTTPS: Successfully connected to www.microsoft.com.
Info FTP (passive): connected to FTP.Microsoft.com.
warn HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com: a connection with the server could not be established
warn HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.hotmail.com: a connection with the server could not be established
error Could not make an HTTP connection.
Info Redirect the user to support call

So, how to connect with IE? My internet works fine, is not just IE.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I'm on cable internet and I use a router. I did have problems patching the game before.

Thank you, Lorien. I used your 3rd suggestion and ran the Microsoft fix it solution that resets all my IE settings and everything works fine now!

Hello I've just updated a few weeks ago a TZ100W a TZ205 and an NSA-240 of 5.8.4.1 5.9.1.1 - 39o and after they have all the same problem all users with XP, VISTA, and WIndows Server 2003 stopped to connect to the Sonicwall NETextender using, I tried version 7.5.216 and 7.5.225 without success. I get the error: the server is not accessible. For users with windows 8, 8.1 and 10, it works fine. I tried searching on the internet but found nothing!

If someone could help me I would be very happy!

The newspaper of the events of my new installation of Win 7 SP1 64 bit (clean installation with all updates), I find several entries for the above error:

    and also (less often):

"Failed to retrieve automatic update of the third-party root certificate: error: this network connection does not exist..".
