Error 54 on udp multicast cRIO

I'm trying to get a data broadcasting cRIO-9075 on a network with UDP. I opened the UDP multicast examples and they work fine when I run them on my development computer. When I deploy and run the examples on the controller for cRIO, however, I get either "error 54 - network address is incorrect" if trying to use the example send/receive or perform UDP opened in read/write mode, or "Error 59 - the network is down, unreachable or has been reset" if I try to use just send UDP or UDP open write-only.

I use a valid multicast IP address located in the region of multicast (234.5.6.7 as in the example), have tried several ports, (0, 58432, 50001...) and we tried with my firewall disabled, connection internet Wi - Fi and bluetooth all disabled. The cRIO is connected directly to your PC via a cable network right development, although I'm sure that my network card is untangle break detection as the rest of the connection works fine.

Anyone have any ideas on how to debug this? I slightly touched a wall of bricks here, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dan,.

I have a number of steps that you can try:

(1) would you be able to reformat the cRIO, then reinstall the software of MAX?

(2) try setting static IP address and choose an IP address.

(3) then try to set the default Gateway to the IP address of the computer.

I look forward to hear from you,

  • required firmware on cRIO for UDP Multicast

    Hello

I would like to run this excerpt on a cRIO system:

(open a port for the UDP multicast messages).

On a standard PC with Win7 that it works, I can send and receive messages without problem.

But on a cRIO, I get an error 54 ('bad network address'). Until the devil?

The cRIO is implemented with this software (LV2011SP1):

I want to reduce memory consumption, so chose not to install the recommended all packages.

I suspect that there is something missing. Is what part of the package?

I found a solution (or is a workaround solution?)...

Need wire entry "network address" Open UDP service. It seems that the cRIO does not know that it is the own IP address:

A correction more: you should only use "String to IP" on the cRIO. When used as indicated above, it gives error 54 on the PC! Arrrgghhh...

The following solution: put the StringToIP node within the ConditionalDiagramDisable structure already in use

  • Several Applications using UDP Multicast Open (read only) on the same port

    Hi all

Currently, I am trying to build a system that has the following architecture:

    RF Server = "1-9 A/D '-> «UDP Multicast (write-only) 1-9"»

Workstation operator = "QTY (N) Data Display Apps all need independently to access one of the 9 UDP multicasts at a time.

Essentially, I have 9 items of antenna that all digitized and distributed via UDP separate multicast address and port. On the receive side I need to be able to have the N number of data display applications where everyone can select the antenna element he wants to get data from. My current goal for N is 7 and the worst case for the data rate is 3.75 MSps IQ rates on each display.

My question is whether or not it is possible to have several "UDP Multicast Open (read only)" on the same port but one by application Data Display? Also, are there limitations with this.

On my local machine I tried a bit with the example 'UDP Multicast Sender.vi' and "UDP Multicast Reciever.vi". I created a "UDP Multicast Reciever2.vi" as another application that listens on the same port/Multicast address as the original receiver. No errors are thrown when you run the receivers and both receivers get the data string sent by the sender at the same time. Can I send data/a. 'PC'-> 'Router Ethernet'-> 'PC with receiver UDP N' reliable evidence? If so, that's fine, because it would be relatively easy to implement. BTW, I do not fear with occasional loss of data what is happening with UDP.

If this does not work, I am also curious to know which deals with data deduplication. For example, two applications by subscribing to the same Multicast address and port does the router send two copies (which increases network traffic)? Or, the Windows operating system get a single UDP packet to the port and replicate in two independent applications?

Below (or attached) are the two methods I thought. If multiple readers of UDP does not work so I thought I'd do a DataSocket "Data Distribution layer" between the incoming UDP sockets and display data on the workstation applications. This would add a bit of memory/processor to the PC workstation, but I know the DataSocket server of NOR can handle a sender unique multiple receiver architecture.

    Thank you

    Tim S.

    Hi Tim,.

The number of concurrent applications, get data on the same port UDP will probably be a limitation of the OS as well. If I had to guess, I would say that 7 of the applications should work correctly. In fact, the memory/CPU bottlenecks are probably the limit on how many simultaneous readers we have, especially since the capablities of PC hardware differ from one computer to the other. I doubt that the OS has a strict limit.

  • API for UDP multicast and UPnP

Can someone kindly tell me that, don't the JDE provides the api for UPnP directly? or the api for "MulticastSocket" or "Connection UDP Multicast", which is used by UPnP?

    Thanks in advance!

If you're still having problems, you can ensure that you don't have spaces or special characters in one of your names in VI. And check all references to the paths absolute or relative to your subVIs.

The Advanced tab of the Build executable window has a few options that you can try to change. You can uncheck 'Copy error code files' and check the 'use LabVIEW 8.x file layout' options. A final step would be to turn on debugging see if that clears the error message.

  • error 54 in udp write when sending to the IP 127.0.0.1!

    Hello friends!

I installed labview 2012 and my projects (I've written in labview 2010) have some problems of incompatibility.

one of them is error 54 (the network address is incorrect etc...) trying to send data to myself - to the IP 127.0.0.1

in labview 2010, it was OK. now, it's a mistake.

    can anyone help?

I found the problem with the help of your answer.

in "open udp" - node address net - I plugged the string (of course with the str function ip) constant that contains my network card ip address.

I removed that and the problem disappeared.

but it's strange because in labview 2010, it worked this way.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Problems with multicast UDP passage from 2009 to 2010

I have Windows 7 laptop computers of switching and reclassification of LABVIEW, LABVIEW 2010 2009. One of the vi, I developed in 2009 works fine on the old laptop, but with the new laptop and LABVIEW 2010 the UDP Multicast open read-only block throws error 59: the network is down, unreachable, or has been reset. The entries in the UDP Multicast Open are multicast addr: "224.0.0.1" (converted to an IP address with a chain of blocked IP addresses: 3758096385) and port: 20103.

I can monitor the UDP traffic with wireshark and check that everything works correctly. I can even run the old system at the same time without any problem, but the new system gets error 59. I checked all network settings, including turning off the windows firewall.

Anyone know of any questions that I might have missed?

Try to build an EXE file of the machine running on the machine of 2010 and 2009.

If it works OK, then the problem on the side of the barrier LabVIEW, if it fails, then it's a Windows problem.

"Unreachable" almost always means a problem of installation of the system.

  • IPSec VPN via UDP fails on WRT610N

    Hello

Using a Cisco VPN, user can connect, but after have connected you to all stops internet connectivity.
    IPsec uses UDP (NAT/PAT).
Anyway to turn it on? The router VPN Passthroughs are all enabled, I even turned on the UDP multicast filter...
    Nowhere else in configure anything?
The VPN profile works on the old WRT54G and a SMC router so I guess that's the WRT610N which has a problem?
    Thank you!

It should not make any difference for the connection if the relay is activated or not. The connection goes through the port UDP ISAKMP 450 that should always work. Disabling the VPN passthrough block ESP IP protocol that is used for data transfer. Your VPN client must then automatically encapsulation UDP Port 4500, which should work fine.

If the connection does not work once you turn off the pull-out decision, I'd say it's a bug. That should never happen. Check the logs in the client to see what happens, maybe, that there was a suspicion.

  • IP directed broadcast to the

Cisco routers have a feature called the IP-directed broadcast. It is the ability to send a UDP multicast from a device on a VLAN and forward it to a different VLAN.
(Of the Cisco's Web site: allows the redirection of directed broadcasts.) When it is enabled on an interface, the interface will respond to messages that are sent to its subnet. )

How could I get that working the prosecure UTM50?

For the moment, I inter VLAN routing active.

If the IGMP Protocol then the router supports. Simply configure the IGMP Protocol tab. Must run a recent firmware beta for the feature (don't know off the top of my head what firmware the feature has been added to initially).

I said I can't do any operation on the interface wlan0 via SSH (no message such as unknown interface wlan0) and the proxy of my company block access to the web configuration of the network card...

But the main problem is this infinite cone. Why?

    Hi afghow,

The message "no network adapter found" could be the result of:

    -Bad IP configuration.

What is your computer IP address and the cRIO one? (you use DHCP or static?)

    -A problem with your firewall

Have you tried disabling your firewall in order to access the parameters of myRIO?

    Hello

After copy of project and re-Assembly, I fell into a large number of problems. LabVIEW is suspended, MAX crio error, no communication to my cRIO-9074, etc.

I formatted the drive and re-installed the software Labview and now at least MAX has no errors, IP adr. Ok.

    VI does not run.

How can I fix this problem?

    Greetings, Frank

    Hi Frank,.

It looks that your VI using the NI Scan Engine Advanced IO access API (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8071)

This component is not installed by default, you must add it as you have formatted your cRIO.

The excerpt below if the link above with installation instructions document:

«Support for the API to access IO advance must be installed on the objective of the measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).» Expand the target under remote, devices right click on softwareand select Add/Remove programs. Select custom software installation and install the component called NI Scan Engine Advanced IO access 1.0. »

    I hope this helps!

  • SMU-8234 generalist?

I have an SMU-1082 chassis with a spare slot.  The SMU-8234 usable in any location and act as a general use Gigabit Ethernet TCP/IP, UDP multicast interface and all that?  I don't need because it is said to use as the GigE Vision interface, I may just need IO of the additional network through LabView RT and Windows 7 (Dual boot or separate hard drives).

    Thank you

    Robert

    Hi xl600,.

The SMU-8234 can be used as a normal GigE interface.  It comes with the Vision software which helps in applications related to the vision, but it will be a functional GigE interface for your SMU system and must be used for vision.

  • global variables shared between several targets of RT

    Hello

I'm looking for some information about variables shared between RT communication network.

Scenario: a PXI 'master' and several 'slave' PXIs running that screw RT. data is available in the form of a cluster of definied type on each slave PXIs (inside a non deterministic while loop). I guess I create global variables of network shared for each PXI slaves. A variable for each slave. I only write data in these variables in one place (above mentioned, while loops), on the PXIs slave. I need to read that data in a way with loss (I just need that value the most recent, as tags) from the master PXI.

Question: can I simply use "network shared variable" settings by default? I mean, I do not enable the option RT FIFO (single element), because I think that for a cluster that is a no go in the case of RT (variable length)?

What do you think? Or would you have better idea how to share data between slaves and masters RT targets (I do not have deterministic/losless transmissions, only these last values)?

I think that the way to proceed is to use the shared Variable Aliasing/binding - they allow you to 'link' shared variables in any of the multiple targets. https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Bind-Alias-shared-variable-to-scan-engine-variable/td-p/3290043.

You can also use shared variables of programming access to access running on another target: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvconcepts/usingdynvarapi/

With regard to the other methods - you could always disseminate data via UDP multicast (or with a TCP/IP connection manager).

  • You can apply to browser on Java 802.11 interface?

I read very useful thread set on foot by Peter Strange "connect your BlackBerry - http connections and plug in the world" and came across mention of the means to create connections. I understand a relevant post to this thread, but also a knowledge of the developers below Base artitcle.

What I'm trying to understand: Imagine writing a Java application that will call the browser BlackBerry "BOLD" and pass it a URL. This URL may contain arguments that control whether the browser connects via WiFi or network service provider?

    What I want to do:

    (1) listen on the interface 802.11 UDP multicast (from industrial equipment) messages that tell me my "BOLD" app that it is in an appropriate environment.

    (2) say "BOLD" to go do a DNS query on the 802.11 interface, get its own IP address on this WiFi 802.11 interface.

    (3) then on this interface WiFi 802.11 do a GET or POST from the browser.

    Is this possible?
