Error "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working" how to open Lightroom?

I just reset my pc following the failure of Windows 10. I reinstalled all my programs downloaded, including Lightroom.

When I try to open Lightroom, the following message shows on the screen;

"Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly.

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

IV ' e tried UN installing and download it again, but I still get the same message.

You must disable the GPU in the Lightroom preferences.

Open Control Panel > go to Device Manager > look under the graphics card for the graphic card > right click and disable.

Now,.

Open Lightroom

Go to Lightroom preferences in the Edit menu

Click the performance tab

Deselect the graphics processor

Restart Lightroom

Open and check if it works fine, then go back to Device Manager and activate the graphic processor.

Let us know if that helps.

Kind regards

Mohit

    Hi Craig,.

Please provide a detailed account of your question. You, the efforts are very much appreciated!

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    a. you did any important changes made to the computer just before the problem occurred?

    b. what fixit did you run, when you say "Run FIXIT"?

You have tried most of the linear troubleshooting, it can be concluded that the question could arise also following a conflict of third-party software that impede the performance of Adobe Photoshop CC. To diagnose the problem, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

It is possible that the application has not been uninstalled properly and have hampered after the new installation. I suggest to try to start the next fixit and then try to install the program Photoshop CC.

The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

The question could also arise due to a conflict of third-party software, so, I would be as you suggest clean boot of the system once and then try to install the program in a boot environment.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.
How to perform a clean boot in Windows

If the problem does not occur in the boot, you can determine which applications and services on the computer is causing this issue.

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

Since you get an 0xc0000005 error code, you can deal with some Windows system files to address faulty. A lot of Photoshop depends on the use of the existing Windows files to work. It could be that the files requiring these specific adjustments are missing or damaged. Try to run a repair of Windows system (using the SFC Scannow command) or follow the instructions here to reinstall the necessary files: How to remove and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries. • Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working (Windows 7, 64-bit)

I am trying to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit Windows 7. Everytime I open the program, I get an error saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working", immediately after the startup screen goes away and the main GUI opens. The only option on the error is "close the program".

I'm on a computer with a processor i7 and 12 GB of memory. I have two Nvidia GTS 250 video cards, four monitors running.

During the last day, I reformatted my computer and reinstalled Windows twice. I reinstalled the CS5 Master Suite several times that I can remember. I also downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Nvidia video card.

I keep having the same problem whenever I try to open all of the programs in the suite CS5.

The only time where as I got near the do function was immediately after installing new Nvidia drivers, before restarting my computer. I could open only once without it breaking, once I restarted my computer, Photoshop kept giving me the same error everytime I try to open it.

I don't have any other software installed on my computer. This is a new installation of Windows 7.

I was on the phone with Adobe technical support for about an hour and a half, and I still have to get one unique suggestion other than to try with my unplugged network cable installation. Other than that, they seem to be fond of the transfer me back and forth between departments (and asking me to repeat all my information every time).

As you can probably, I am very frustrated at this point and would be very happy to suggestions.

    Thank you

    Trevor

    My scenario and history:

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition and now Windows 7 Ultimate

NVidia Quadro Fx 4500 screwing 4 monitors total SLi on or off - makes no difference.  Drivers are irrelevant.

    2 x Xeon 5160 (so total 4 cores)

    24 GB RAM

    PS CS 4 or 5

    4 monitors - Yep it's the thing 4 monitor.

Fails every time that you describe.

Comment - if you remote desktop on the computer - and so, indeed, use a single monitor - PS works fine.

A WORKAROUND solution for 4 or 5 - I don't consider not that difficult because you lose some features, but it gets you 99% it and is the same workaround for CS4 or 5

    Go to: Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit) \Plug-ins\Extensions\ (or CS4 - according to version)

    Look for the file:

    ScriptingSupport.8li

Disable this extension by renaming the file with a tilde before the name of the file.  So:

    ~ScriptingSupport.8li

Start Photoshop - it works and is essentially functional.

The only real drawback I found is that disable this script extension means that you cannot use some of the scripts integrated under FILE - SCRIPTS - larger PIA for me to be that of the Contact Sheet Builder no longer works.  But as I now use Lightroom to create planks-contacts - this is not a big loss.  Other features script - I'm sure is applied - but not to the point I find PS unusable.

ADOBE - if you read this - it was this extesión now for the last two editions of the PS.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working

I have Windows 7 I just installed Adobe photoshop CS5 Extended. It starts fine but when I start to open an image I get the message

Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working windows it will stop.

Any ideas of what is the problem.

Mylenium, why do you feel it is necessary to run the first time as an administrator?  You know installation failures that will leave files or registry entries with a bad permissions?  I have not heard of this behavior with new versions; Photoshop has certainly experienced feature UAC Windows for quite a long time.

Rjleys , I suggest that you try (before the opening of a picture) go into Edition - Preferences - Performance and disabling the setting of drawing OpenGL use [].   Close, and then restart Photoshop after making this change.

If this works around the problem, you must update your video drivers on the website of the manufacturer of your video card.  Maybe it's that OpenGL operations that Photoshop is making can cause an error in your drivers, resulting in a drop in demand.

What type of video card you have?
