If you have provided the name of the program, it would be a great help.

Also, what version of the program is it?

Including the architecture of Windows 7 enterprise use you, 32 or 64 bits?

Have you checked the Web site of the manufacturer for a new version or an update for the Windows 7 support program or to find out if it supports Windows 7 in all?

Have you tried to install the program in compatibility mode?

Also, did you try right click on the installer and click on run as administrator?

You can also try to disable all security temporarily as your Antivirus software and see if the installation ends.

Also, you can try turning user account control temporarily and see if it installs.

  • Problem with Windows update during the installation of the printer

I tried several times to install an older printer to the Epson (Stylus Photo 925) on a computer running Windows XP Professional.  When I get to the part of the installation where I select the printer from a list in Windows this printer is not available, so I chose to Windows Update the list.  I've done several times, and the list of Epson printers is actually reduced after selecting the 'Windows Update' button.  Its unusual because a few weeks ago, I did the same configuration for a new machine of Windows 7 and Windows Update added this printer to the list.

I should add that my printer is on a print server if the installation is a bit more detailed than just plugged in the USB cable and installation.

  • During the installation of a program, receive the error message that Windows Installer is not installed properly on Vista

I tried to install a program and I got an error message that says "Windows Installer" is not installed correctly and I need to contact the support staff.  I get also a message when I log that says steetings.ini is occupied by another program and it will not allow the sidebar to come.

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to troubleshoot the problem with Windows Installer:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml.

For the issue of the Sidebar, do a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I hope someone has a suggestion for this problem... I just bought a new laptop and Windows 7 Professional came installed on it.

    Thank you

    Linney thanks for your response!

The file I'm trying to install is an exe file (so the SIG file is embedded in the exe file).

I tried the option "Run As Administrator" and it did not work.  However, you gave me an idea that has provided a work around that allowed me to install the program.

Once this dialog box is displayed with all the control switches, rather than press 'OK', I left on the screen and went in the 'temp' folder and find the MSI program I tried to install (I cross referenced the timestamp of when I tried to install it to find).

Once I found the updated file, I clicked it, and he proceeded to install the program... I have not had any other problems with the installation.

So, there's something wrong with the way that the exe file have been created and how the files extracted from the msi file (these are files of Intel and Lenovo - driver updates - so I think they do these things) or there is a problem with Windows Installer.

For now, at least, I have a work around I use until I find a solution to this problem of permanent

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer!

I hope this can help someone else in the future

  • Problem with Windows Update after the new installation of Windows 7 Pro the Lenovo ThinkPad X 200

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. The product key is easy to find on the sticker of the ThinkPad. However, the version of Windows is hidden (for example, I can't check that my ThinkPad had originally installed Windows 7 Pro). I was able to install by using a Pro Win 7 SP1 CD ROM I bought for another installation. I used the ThinkPad I was trying to make the new facility on the product key. I was able to activate the Windows 7 Pro using the phone call and my cell phone. I checked the activation! However, I have problems with Windows update. The product key may be a different version of Windows 7. If so, why did it install and activate OK? Y at - it a fix for this problem or I have to buy a new version of Windows 7 Pro? • Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x 86) does not open with Windows Installer

Using Win XP Service Pack 3. While trying to install a 3rd package of the party that informed me that MS Visual C++ was either absent or damaged. So I downloaded vcredist_x86.exe. When I tried to open it, Windows Installer came and demanded that I insert a CD for the file that Win Installer, should be in the format of .msi file when you locate the file.

How can I bypass Win Installer or how Win Installer stop demanding leader .msi format when the file format is .exe. If not, how can I get the self-extracting vcredist_x86.exe program without using Win Installer?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Windows Installer is required to install any application on the system. If the Windows Installer is damaged, then you cannot install any application on the system and .msi is the extension of the Windows Installer file.

    ·        Where you downloaded the Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (x 86)?

    ·        Apart from that, you are able to install other programs on the system without any problems?

    ·        What is the exact error message that you encounter during the installation of the file?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to download the Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (x 86) from the link below, and then perform a clean boot and then try to install it on the system and check if the problem is solved or not. Follow the steps mentioned below.

You could try to go to the MICROSOFT website, go to KNOWLAGE database and in the search bar, try the search for WINDOWS INSTALLER. Look for any version that is newer than the one you have. If this fails, try searching on GOOGLE. You can also try to do an update to WINDOWS VISTA.

  • Accidentally deleted Windows 7 during the attempt to dual boot with Ubuntu

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Service number: ADMIN NOTE: maintain the label removed by privacy policy >

In trying to dual boot my system with Ubuntu, I accidentally erased Windows 7 during the partition. I bought my system used in a store and now I need a way to get Windows 7. I don't want to pay too much for the support. I talked to a Dell technician and they said for security systems that they charged $120 for each case. I don't know how true it is or if there are exceptions. I'm not quite willing to pay $120 for support, because I paid only about US $300 for the system. If I were asked to pay US $120 for it, I might as well buy a new one right? It is not that I am not willing to pay for support, but if the charge is a significant percentage of the value of the system, I am not prepared to pay for it.

Any help you can give me in this regard will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Sun

You can try Windows 10 TH2 by yourself... If you like it then you don't need to pay Windows 7 media and/or to obtain from an unofficial source.

There are always positive and negative comments on versions of Windows. Windows ME, Vista and 8 in particular had the worst critics... In my opinion Windows 10 is a good successor to Windows 7 (Windows 8 was not).

If you don't like it then you can get the DVD on eBay. The restorediscs is probably just copied a DVD to reinstall Dell Windows 7 send. There are debates or no eBay or these sources media buy is authentic or not. The license is tied to the Windows 7 COA affixed to your computer, so from a technical point of view it does not matter where you get the installation media.

  • Problem with Windows Installer (I think)

Hey I just got a new 'game' PC with all the good things like i7 processor nvidia GTS 250 graphics card. So I guessed I would setup games. Games were installed very well the problems started when I tried to run SteamInstall.msi he looks ready to install for 1 second and then close and nothing happen. Even try to do once again nothing. So I gave up with it.

Then I installed cod4, codwaw and download for both patches. When I try to install the patches it starts normal and after extractinng saying "" ".msi or msu or something it get stuck on the preparation for installation on both cod4, codwaw games and I think about others too... '".

So I guess that's my Windows Installer problem... ? Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (problems on SP1 also)

    Yoris,
I think that if you had a problem with Windows Installer, then you would have also had a problem installing the games themselves.  If after installing just the game, you are able to start the game, then you will need to determine if you really need the patches you install.  If they fix game issues and do not add any content, then you may not even need of patches.  If it turns out that you do not have the patches and they are self extracting\installing files and then save them to your desktop and then right click and select run as administrator and see if that helps.  You can also check with Activision support , because this can be a problem they know.
