: Error at the start of the disk system check "Windows is unable to read the disc.

Original title: Probem with Partition

My laptop has a 'C' and 'E' of the hard drives. The system works on 'C' drive 'E' is mainly used for personal files/documents/pictures/etc.. For some reason, the 'E' drive is unreadable/corrupted. The properties option displays no space left "ALL BLUE". The check disk option does not work and it says that Windows cannot read the disk.

I don't know what happened. One minute, he was working, then it is not.

Ideas and solutions will be appreciated.

Moreover, from the computer goes straight to the disk check. Loads of messages about unable to read are displayed.

I am running Vista SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro.

Hi Louis Harrison.

1. what exactly happens when you open the E drive?

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Check the permissions on E:
a. Click Start, click computer.
b. right-click on E:, and then click Properties.
c. click on the Security tab, select your username under "names of users and groups" and check if it has "Full control" if she's not here, and then give full control access.

Step 2: Look for disk errors
a. see check your hard drive for errors
b. restart the computer and check the result.

  • CS5 trial install error - insert the disc?

I have successfully downloaded a Photoshop CS5 trial, but when trying to install the progress bar stops at 0% and I get a message that reads "Please insert photoshop cs5 disk to continue. Obviously I don't have the disk, because it is a downloadable trial. When I cancel the installation, I get a long list of error codes that starts like this:

I stumbled on one or two other people who have this problem, but especially windows machines, so I failed to find an answer to this problem.  a few explanations I've found are too technical for me to understand, I'm not a computer genius. One thing I noticed is that sharing options and permissions in the menu 'get info' install folder are grayed out and cannot be changed. By clicking on the padlock does not allow me to make changes as usual. Access to my user (admin) privileges are read, write, and read only for 'personal' and 'everyone '. Don't know if it's something to do with it, but I read another case where changing these settings solves the problem. I have tried to re - download the trial and move to new, but that has not worked.

Help with this problem would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I think that this happens if there is more than a mounted Installer. Have you tried to restart your entire system, reassembly of the installer, and then try to reinstall?

  • Error-insert the disc when try to open the flash drive.

Original title: why connect my USB drive as an external drive.

When the flash drive is plugged into the USB port, it seems that it will be added as a flash drive, but then the following equipment added window indicates that an external hard drive has been added.  When I go into windows Explorer to open the drive in Explorer mode, it says to insert the disc.

    Hi JimScottATO,

    We will try this.

First of all, make sure that you are connected under an administrator account on your computer. Then plug in your USB key.

Click START then right click on my computer , then click MANAGE

In the new window, click MANAGEMENT OF DISKS

Find the name of your flash drive and right click.

Click on the letter of change of road and railways

And then change the drive letter to something not already taken by another drive on the computer, such as "x" or "v".

  • my system shows an error with the disc of windows-no legend

my xp os will be faced with a problem that shows with the legend "windows-no disk", and the error code is "exception processing message c000013 parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75bf7c".

It's a shame that we don't know anything about your system, but it's the way things work here so I can give you some general tips about this message:

If you mean see messages like this:

No disk, Exception Processing Message c0000013 parameters 75b6bf7c 475b6bf7c 75b6bf7c

Some people think that people there may be to not to use the device safely remove feature (and maybe), but I never use Safely Remove Hardware with external USB devices and I don't have this message for you if you can't understand it and other things work very well, you can tell XP simply can't show this message when there is no reason.

Until you can determine what the 'real' problem is with your hardware, you can disable the pop-up message by making a registry adjustment.

Before making changes to the registry, back up your registry with this free and easy to use tool popular:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ERUNT.html

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Regedit

Click OK to open the registry editor, navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows

In the right pane, check the value of the ErrorMode setting.

If ErrorMode is set to 0, double click on ErrorMode and set 2 (2 = disabled).

Click OK to save the changes, and then click file, exit to close the registry editor.

Reboot your system and check the things now.

2 to the parameter ErrorMode stops at pop - up message but still material error log in the Event Viewer log.

  • When I tried to re install Windows XP, I received an "unexpected error" at the end of the installation. The computer then restarts and it gives me the error again.

    Hello

I did a clean install on winxp pro, it ended by an "unexpected error", it will not install, shows me the error and restart try to reinstall and same error. I checked around and it could be due to the intallation disk which was scratched and unable to read the files (I tried the disk image and failed). I made a copy of the disc as soon as possible, but it is bootable. I tried putting in the cd copied, tried to locate the file but could not (don't kn OW the drive and folder).

Is there a way to make the copy bootable cd? (in my pc, I made a copy of the Setup disk) or is it all the same to overcome this obstacle?

    Thanks in advance.

I installed a CD using Windows Media Player AutoPlay as my default for audio CD the 1st song plays, but when I select the next song, I get a red X icon and an error saying the disc cannot be read and it climbs to the 3rd song. So, if I select another song, I get several red X icons on several songs. It happens with all prerecorded CDs that I install. The disks are clean and new and everything worked fine before, but I had my Windows Vista Home Premium reloaded recently. I don't remember if the player has worked properly for reloading. Why can it read well enough to still play some songs if it cannot read the disc. I'm getting confused. Can someone help me sort through this and help me make it work? I'm not too computer, so be gentle. Thank you... Dave

  • Error message: Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your player...

I have one of the same type of disc engraved the other day without problem. Tried to burn a CD today the progress achieved 99%, then I got the error message. Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try to insert another type of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive.

    Hi David,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you with this problem.

According to the problem description, you were not able to burn a DVD with Windows Media Player.

You get the error that the disc is not compatible with your drive.

Let me ask you a question.

    (1) what is the type of DVD or CD you want to create?
    (2) don't you make changes to your computer before this problem?

I would suggest a few troubleshooting methods. Run the Windows Media Performance troubleshooting tool and follow the steps in the link to burn a CD or a DVD.

Method 1: Run Windows Media Player Performance convenience store.

Please follow the steps below to do so.

    (a) key Windows + W keys on your desk.
    (b) write the Troubleshooting in the search box in the upper right.
    (c) select the Troubleshooting option after the search.
    (d) select the option of Performance of Windows Media Player .
    (e) click Next to perform the resolution of the problems of performance of Windows Media Player and follow the steps.

Method 2: Follow the steps in the link here and burn the CD or DVD.

Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player

  • Need expert help! CD player does not read the contents of the disc. Help!

I searched and tried everything what we can imagine and impossible to find a solution. I can also restore because I don't really know this error at startup. Here are the symptoms and fixes I've tried. If there is someone out there who could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

    System:, I have XP w/SP3 installed. Dual-Core 3.0 G w / 3G P5N72T - MB Ram, HD 300 G, Asus CD/DVD Drive.

    Symptoms:

    • I had my CD player connected via PATA ribbon cable and my hard drive connected via a SATA cable.
    • My CD player will not autorun when an installation disc is installed.
    • My CD player will not read or display the contents of the disc when I use the file Explorer.
    • My letter of CD drive is D:\ and always appear as one of the discs.
    • When I use the command "run" and type: D:\install or D:\setup a windows "disk is not formatted" error appears stating "Windows is unable to read the disc. The disk might be corrupted or it could be in a form that is not compatible with windows.
    • My Green CD player will sweep on and I can hear it turn every time I try to explore the files or after I insert a disc, but she never autoruns, or displays content.
    • I decided to buy a new SATA CD drive and installed, unfortunately it does not work either exact problems remain.
    • I have two CD drives to another computer and they both work. So I know this isn't the disc or the lens.
    • I ran the utility Microsoft Fix It and she finds nothing wrong.
    • I ran the TweakUI to make safe autoplay features are on.
    • I did all the registry fixes proposed by microsoft and online forums. i.e. upper and lower, filters etc.
    • I removed the device from Device Manager and reinstalled.
    • I ran a virus, spyware, malware, and everything is clean.
    • I have the latest version of the system bios and all settings are fine. Most are on Auto that are associated with the detection.
    • Type of device DMA modes are selected in automatic detection.
    • If I could read a disc that I could try to reinstall windows XP, but it is not an option now until my CD player is fixed!
    • I don't have any installed like Nero buring CD software.
    • I actually installed Nero Light to see if it would read a disc, and of course I can see the disk and copy its content to my hard drive or take an image of the disk.
    • I tried to rename the drive, disconnect the drive.
    • I'm sure I tried other things, but can't remember right now!

Thanks for your help in advance!
    Mike

    Hi msavage2000,

It seems you have tried most of the steps to solve this problem. However, we would like to know if the drive does recognize the drive?

As we know readers work, I would like you to try a new PATA/IDE cable and check the result.

  • The disc you have inserted not readable by this computer. What?

I have been using an external hard drive (usb) for a few months. As I was falling images to save the disk I got an error that the disc is not readable. I have important files out there that has not been supported until a second source, how to make my computer to recognize the drive without formatting! I can also see it on my disk utility, but it won't allow me to repair the disc until I have format. What are my options?

Try resetting the SMC and LANDAU with disconnected JEP, then re - connect and test. If you used another drive as your Time Machine backup, then the DHM has probably also been backup on it. If she has no HD doesn't have, so you can try the recovery of data such as DiskWarrior or DataRescue software and so those who fail, you may contact a data recovery service. Go on, ALWAYS make sure you have a redundant backup of all your data.
