Original title: upgrade to Windows 7 in Safe Mode?
IM currently running XP Media Edition and experiencing a BSOD that says "INVALID_PROCESS_DETACH_ATTEMPT" which produces usually a minute or two, I have to connect to XP. Can I upgrade to Windows 7 in safe mode to try to resolve this problem. Nothing else has worked. I tried to last good config, etc. of restore point, and I get this BSOD. Help, please.
Hi DanRiordan,
1. you receive an error with the error code?
2 have you made any hardware changes or software on the computer before this problem?
It is not possible to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows XP operating system.
I suggest you to run chkdsk from the Recovery Console and check if you are able to boot to the desktop.
At the Recovery Console prompt, type which Suits, and then press ENTER:
CHKDSK [/ p]: [/ r]
Note: At first, try to run chkdsk/p & check if it helps. Later, you can run chkdsk/r.

Satellite L450D-128: how to fix intermittent errors blue screen Crash?
My computer suffered several errors blue screen for a month, and I need help to fix it. I've already posted this question on the forums of Windows 7, but received no reply and therefore no help.
I use a Satellite L450D-128. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
According to the .dmp files, most of the accidents were caused by the ntoskrnl.exe file that is part of the windows OS.Can someone tell me the best way to look at/fix this file?
Hello
The ntoskrnl.exe seems to be part of the kernel to boot Microsoft.
In my view this file or this process should not create a BSOD
Have you checked if the new installation of the OS could solve this problem?Given that the BSOD may be linked to serious problems or hardware problem
Therefore, you should try new fresh OS installation to check if the system is not affected
Otherwise I recommend that you check the RAM modules (perhaps running a memtest86 +)What do you think of this?

Satellite A300D-1EI - error blue screen display - drivers did not have
I bought my laptop about a month ago.
Everything is working great except two errors 'blue screen' caused by the graphics card. Both were when the laptop was connected to the TV via the S-video port.
First was when the computer screen turns off after 15 minutes while watching a movie on resume says that the display drivers did not have, and then I got the blue screen. Then I updated the site Web of ATI display drivers and set the computer screen goes out.All were ok with no problems, until last night when I got another message that the display drivers did not follow a blue screen.
I wonder if this is problem to drive or there is a problem with my graphics card.
System information:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T8400 CPU @ 2.26 GHz
Memory (RAM live): 3.00 GB
System type: 32-bit Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470If long you use ATI driver ATI support page it is not possible to say anything on this subject.
This driver is not tested and Toshiba does not offer any help on this matter. So what you can do is to install OS using recovery media and see what will happen in the future. Please test extensively with the own operating system preinstalled. Do not install anything that can have some negative influence this game or additional applications, codecs or something similar.
Test it please and tell us if the problem persists.

STOP: 0x0000007e (0xc000001d, ox8537008 0xba4c3508 0xba4c3204) and the system would not come to the top.
Error blue screen STOP: 0x0000007e. I powercycled the sys, unable to choose for sure (keys do not work when you try to select a mode) sys is trying just to go back to the blue screen. Help, please
Symptoms: Booted computer, loaded the raid drivers and showed at the start screen XP for half a second then to BSOD with a Stop error Code 0x0000007E - see also a lot of users (0xC0000001D, 0 x-, etc.) as well.
Solution:
1 boot from your Windows XP CD and start the recovery console. You may need to press F6 while RC loads in order to load the SATA drivers. you will have a prompt c:\WINDOWS to the console.
2. type: CD $NtUninstallKB977165$ \spuninst (it's the update, I had to uninstall to get out of the boot loop, other updates can be uninstalled by changing the name of the directory to $NtUninstallKBCODE$, where KBCODE is the code KB)
3. type: BATCH spuninst.txt
4. type: exit
Don't forget to configure your system to boot from the HD before resuming. I hope this helps. Saved me a lot of hassle today.

NMI:Parity error blue screen
I have problem with blue screen with any program at any time. It is as it should be a hardware problem. When I run the Diagnostics on my computer everything seems to check out OK.
Hello drichardson3,
· You get this error blue screen randomly on your computer?
· What exactly is the diagnostic test that you have run on the computer?
The checking of NMI Parity error is an error related to a defective hardware on your computer. This is mainly caused by a faulty RAM.
To resolve this problem, you may need to check on the RAM, I suggest you contact the manufacturer of your computer to check the hardware that does not work properly.
Thank you

The attached file of the DMP is the MANUALLY_INITIATED_CRASH1 (deaddead) bug check.
This indicates that the user has deliberately launched a crash dump from the keyboard or the kernel debugger.
It's very interesting to see, because it is as I said a bug MANUALLY initiated only control. Have you implemented the registry key-crash keys and perform the crash yourself?
With PS/2 keyboards, you must activate the crash initiated by keyboard in the registry. In the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parametersregistry key, create a value called CrashOnCtrlScrolland equal to a REG_DWORD value 0x01.
With USB keyboards, you must activate the crash initiated by keyboard in the registry. In the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\kbdhid\Parameters, registry key create a value called CrashOnCtrlScrolland equal to a REG_DWORD value 0x01.

Error blue screen of Windows 8
Hello, I have a few problems with Windows... First I hade error 0cx000000f, which I was unable to start windows, and which I have fixed formatting my computer and reinstall windows (in fact, I installed a downloadable version of windows which I activated with my personal product key). It seemed made for the first time, but then I restarted computer and I got another blue screen, the "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"... I tried hard to solve this problem, but the onl thing I can once again formatted my pc and reinstall Windows 8, but when I restart error comes back. When the error affects PC I can not even boot Windows 8 DVD... Please someone help me...
Hey! It seems that I fixed that! Now, I'm writing about it so if somone had the same problem can try to repair it this way. It seems that I was right to think that BIOS and operating system are not compatible...
To fix the error, I followed these steps:
1. I went to the BIOS and secure boot disabled to enable legacy support... (F10 > System Configuration > start... Options)
2. I used a bootable, Gparted software, which actually start by pressing F9, then DVD internal, I formatted all my volumes of HARD drive, then I deleted all the volumes to have just a left volume...
3. I used the DVD of Windows 8.1 to run "Recovery" and then used prompt to convert my GPT HARD drive - recovery > Troubleshoot > advanced > guest > diskpart (then write the commands following..) > select 'your own number volume' volume > clean > convert GPT... (the mistake that I did before, it's that I tried to install win 8 which can be installed on a HDD MBR but needs a HDD GPT to will work perfectly, and I was caught in the MBR format before somehow)
4. I installed Windows 8.1 (from DVD) and the drivers in my PC and it seems now work very well, even if I am still unable to use start secure even if UEFI is installed, but that's okay as long as it...
At least the error was the uncompatibility between the operating system (win 8) and the wrong format of drive (MBR) that I used to install Windows 8, system that was obviously too old for the version of BIOS and the BIOS (version 25) last...

Receiver errors blue screen on LG phone to the computer connection.
Original title: HOW to connect the phone to the pc if BSoD?
Hello, need an expert.
So here's the problem, when I connect my LG to pc immediately * beeps * and here comes from the blue screen. Since I have this, I traveled around the internet looking for something that can help, no use. Have you tried a lot of programs and bugs, but the problem is still happening. I ve noticed that, in some sites * quite similar like this * people ask them the file that is located in Windows / minidump or something... and he could somehow tell where is the problem. Who wants my minidump file: D?HelloThank you for the question to Microsoft Community. I'll give my best to help you. From your problem description, I understand that you receive blue screen errors when connecting LG phone to the computer.1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2. What is the model number of your LG cell phone?
3. what edition XP and the Service Pack that you are using?
4. what application antivirus do you use?You can perform the methods suggested below and check if they will help you solve the problem.Method 1: I suggest to download, install the updates of windows, pack service available for your computer and check to see if you receive the blue screen errors.Method 2: If you have not installed the latest drivers for LG Mobile, I recommend you to install the driver from the link below.
Click on the following link, select your mobile model number, download and install the drivers for XP.
http://www.LG.com/HK/support/product/support-product.jspMethod 3: Refer to the steps in the following link.

In addition, you can share the Minidump for further research:a. Please click Start, click Run, type "% SystemRoot%\Minidump" (without the quotes).
b go to your desktop, right-click on it and create a new folder named "Dump".
c. copy all the files in memory dump (it looks like Mini092003 - 01.DMP) in Minidump in this folder.Share it with Sky Drive.See the below mentioned link to download files using skydrive.

Whenever I receive an email containing a link to U-Tube, or try to connect to a position of U-Tube by link via my browser, it starts to open up and then freezes. The computer shuts down after briefly showing a blue error screen.
This happens if the browser is IE, Firefox, Google, or Google Chrome.I tried the system restore, but it will not go to any control point before this event began, about four weeks ago.I also tried Mats_Run.Codec.exe, MS Automated Troubleshooting service, nothing helps. You would get further faster and with less effort, if we know a little more about your system and you can eliminate the 'try' things.
What is your system brand and model?
What is your version of XP and the Service Pack?
You will always be to 'catch' the BSOD if you do this:
XP is configured to restart automatically on some system failures, you will need to disable this feature for the information of the blue screen of death (BSOD) will remain on the screen for you to see.
You must also configure XP to create a memory for each BSOD dump file, so you'll have a crash dump file to watch later if debugging more is necessary.
If your system crashes later, the information you need will always be on the screen and then you can use the information in the dump files memory to understand what the problem is and fix it.
Disable automatic restart in case of system error
XP restarts on system failure, so automatically configure your system so it does not, then you can see the error message.
Configure your system does not automatically restart on system failure
Right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings.
In the system failure section:
Put a check mark in the box "write an event to the system log.
Put a check mark in the box "send an administrative alert.
Uncheck 'automatically restart '.In the Write debugging information section select:
Partial dump (64 KB)
Set the directory small dumpster:
%SystemRoot%\Minidump
Click OK, OK.
Restart your computer.
The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see. Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters. If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you. We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like. This sounds like a video driver issue, so we can see what you have for your system, audio and video drivers.
If you need help to know what your video driver and audio situation, and where to get possible improvements to your video and sound drivers, follow these steps:
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
Msinfo32
Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
For more audio information, expand components, click on Sound Device, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
If you want to get more information on your BSOD, follow these steps:
Download BlueScreenView here:Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files. If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).BlueScreenView tries to find the right driver or module that caused the blue screen by looking inside the stack of the accident. However, be aware that the driver detection mechanism is not 100% reliable, and you should also look in the lower pane, that display all drivers/modules found in the stack.Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files. Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt. Open BSOD.txt with a text editor, copy the text and paste it in your next reply. Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:==================================================Dump file: Mini062110 - 01.dmpCrash time: 21/06/2010-11:51:31Bug Check String: MANUALLY_INITIATED_CRASHBug check code: 0x000000e2Parameter 1: 0x00000000Parameter 2: 0x00000000Parameter 3: 0x00000000Parameter 4: 0x00000000Caused by the driver: i8042prt.sysCaused by the address: i8042prt.sys + 27fbDescription of the file: i8042 Port driverProduct name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating SystemCompany: Microsoft CorporationFile version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413 - 2108)Processor: 32-bitComputer name:Full path: C:\WINDOWS\minidump\Mini062110-01.dmp==================================================Send the information of the last 5 memory dumps (if you don't have 5 memory dumps yet, send the newest, you have).
