    Hi bbdunford,

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

You may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    (a) the file type is supported by the drive, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

Have already installed a printing device to a laptop connected to a shared printer on the desktop computer.  Installed the HP Universal printing PCL 6 (v 5.6.0). Also have a printer all-in-one wireless inkjet that works successfully from the laptop.

He worked successfully for about a month. Then suddenly would not print, but has continued to communicate with the printer via the office. Wireless printing still works fine.

    Print path

Laptop to router to desktop for printer 1200

    Configuration of the laptop Port

    Port: \\DesktopName\hplaserj

    Port Description: Local

    Printer: HP Universal PCL 6 (v 5.6.0)

    To date:

    1. have you deleted device printing PCL 6 of the laptop, reinstalled.

    2. the footsteps of PCL 6 removed from the register; re-installed the printing device, deleted the old port and created a new port.

    3. just did print no, same error message.

4 repeat step 2, but installed the universal HP PCL 6 driver. Same result and same error message.

Can anyone suggest something else to try or point me in the right direction?

Basically, Shlomi has proposed a solution that worked. Thank you.

    That's what I actually did.

For Windows 7 and 8, HP has apparently developed universal print (UPD) for the old PCL 6 and PCL 5 drivers. Had already downloaded the 64 bit version of the UPD PCL 6. 64 bit versions re-downloaded and re-installed UPD PC5 and PCL 6. It wasn't the problem.

Then I followed the suggestion to connect directly to the printer 1200 via the USB cable.

1 first removed from the registry, references to PCL 6 and PCL 5 printers

    2. then restarted the print spooler (computer-> manage-> services)

    3. Add a printer in devices and printers, this time using the DOT4 port.

4 bingo, could print a test page.

    5. from print properties, change the local port to \\computer name\hplaserj, the shared printer on the wireless network.

7 bingo again. Has been able to print a test page and were able to print additional documents.

Still don't understand what the problem was or what caused it suddenly appear, but it works now.

  • Windows DVD Maker do not accept the wmv files error file is not supported.

    Hello

I just downloaded a video on YouTube using the 'FreeYouTubeDownload' of DVDVideosoft software.  He managed to create a file wmv to me.  I know it works because when I click on the video file and click on 'play', Windows Media Player automatically opens and plays the video.  So far so good.

I want to burn the file on a DVD.  When I open Windows DVD Maker, click on 'Add items' and click on the video file wmv, I get an error message saying that the file is not supported.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. This is my first time using DVD creation.  I checked the DVD Maker for filters, but there aren't any.  What gives?  WMV files are supposed to be supported by DVD Maker, Yes?  My DVD authoring program is defective?  Or is the file that the program created YouTubeDownloader defective?  I think not, because Windows Media Player does not play the video.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Following up on my own question.  Further investigation revealed that from other sources wmv files were working with DVD Maker.  Therefore, the wmv files, created by the freeware program that I used that were not compatible.  I then used the freeware program to create files avi instead, and they were working with DVD Maker.  I did my DVD and all is well.

  • RAW of Nikon D7000 import fail - error: the following files were not imported because they could not be read.

    I'm on a Mac under OS X 10.11.

I connect the camera via USB, open Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC (2015 2.1 - Camera Raw 9.2), click on the button import and display all the. NEF files on the camera.  I check 'in the subfolder"and it by default selects 'by date' with 'Format for a Date' 2015/10 which I accept.  I then select the collection that I want to add to, define rule change in file name and click on the import button blue with all the selected photos.

Import does not work and I get the error: the following files were not imported because they could not be read.

I read in the forums and many people claim that this is due to a problem with file permissions.  The is not the case here.  I am logged in as myself, running Lightroom like myself (the process of Lightroom is held by me) and my entire repertoire belongs to me, including the "2015/10" record he would write in.  In addition, I can manually enter this directory and manually create and delete files and folders with no problems.

So the foregoing proves no problem licensing insofar as the operating system and the file system is concerned, and also proves that this is a specific problem with Lightroom.  Why is it not work?  I pay several hundred dollars a year for a subscription of CC; I need this job.

The error was due to permissions of file after all.  When you import media, must be very carefully considered defects of menu import gear - if you "subfolder" selected, look at the setting for "Destination Folder" - in my case, it was set to ""/ "."  This is the root directory, so it's obvious standard user level permissions won't allow files to be written here, or I wanted to have whatever it is put into memory.  It was particularly easy to miss because it's only a simple slash.  Once I set the destination folder to a location in my directory, import worked well.

  • Error "Cannot read disc" after nc4200 replacement hard drive

    Hi all

I read through the postings but did not see an exact match for the issue I'm having.

My 5 year old needed nc4200 finally a replacement hard drive.  I bought a new 120 GB ATA-6 WD Scorpio Blue 40 GB ATA-7 Toshiba plant.  I was able to clean up a few errors on the old disk and the Partition Magic 8.0 successfully used to copy all the data in a single primary partition on the new 120 GB drive using all available space.

I started with success the drive on the Windows desktop using a separate post of full PC.  When I inserted the new, WD drive in my nc4200 however I got an error "cannot read disc" immediately after the MESSAGE.  The BIOS is a short wee on tests of diagnostic and other information on the hard drive, but I ran with success a test drive in the menu of the BIOS with the net results.

I have advanced and updated the BIOS to version F.0F thinking there may be some 1024 cylinders deliver or other incompatibility big disk, but this new version also shows the error of reading.  At this point, I'm stumped.  Why this new boot in my desktop PC drive but fail in my nc4200?  What do I have to use some tools HP blessed to make this readable disk?

    Thanks in advance!

Well, I guess you can call this one resolved.  I sent the WD Scorpio Blue 120 GB drive (model WD1200BEVE) and ordered a WD Scorpio Blue 80 GB (model WD800BEVE) instead.  I cloned my old Toshiba 50 GB 5400 RPM (model MK6026GAX) with Acronis True Image WD Edition.  I installed the new drive in my nc4200 and pulled upward on the first try!

I'm still not sure why the 120 GB didn't work.  The only thing I noticed is that the done 120 GB one noise rattling and the 80 GB is not then maybe the drive was defective.  I'll never know however, if it was the drive or the size of the drive, that was the question, but I hope that this info will be useful to someone else looking to exchange a HD of aging in a nc4200.

  • Update v5.0 error: cannot read the 'calendar' undefined property

Hi, I have this type Eception error: cannot read property 'calendar' undefined after upgrade to version 5.0 the old version of the project works very well, no idea how to solve this problem?

The new runtime environment has an internal variable called 'data' in the class of symbol. The code in this composition also uses .data to store some values user who modifies the internal state of the symbol at run time and translates into js errors. If you change the name of the data variable to tell _data, it should work. I have already done in the actions.js file, and enclose the copy update here. Please do a double check at the same time, it is used in many places, and I could have missed something that I don't understand the domain logic in the present code a lot.
