  • Vista - Error Code: 0X80070B7 (could not install Service Pack 2)

Cannot install SP2. 0x80070b7 error code. Also can't install the system tool, but no error code.

Automatic update of Windows attempted to load 4 updates recently, but an error message came up saying that it could not install SP2. The code was 0x80070b7. I tried to install SP1, in the case who had not worked for a long time, but the message is that the 'SP1 Setup is already running. I tried to install the tool of analysis, but all I get is a message saying KB947821 could not be installed. My computer still works until all this happened, and now it crashes after a few minutes of walking. It will be release after 20-30 minutes for a minute or two and then lock up again. Obviously, something happened in automatic installation and now the laptop is somewhere between facilities. I'm away for two weeks and are in desperate need of my computer. What can I do?

I get an error code 9370001 ever time I try to update my home premium 32-bit systememember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Try to download and install manually by download on your desktop and install them one by one. Insert the number of KB to get updates on the right and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  Disable your security software.  Then try the updates again. Once this is done (if it worked) don't forget to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

800F0816 - express package has not been completely downloaded. The status of the operation was recorded while the package is downloaded. An express package is a package that you are installing by using Windows Update. With these packages, only the files needed for that specific computer are downloaded and installed (unlike when all is downloaded to a computer).

For a 'solution offline' you can try to manually download each update to the computer you are currently using and then transfer to the portable touched with a USB key.
Then see if they install correctly. Given that we do not know all the edits concerned... open Windows Update in Control Panel, and then click View update history link to see updates try to install.
Note that the KB numbers are updated and post them in this thread or,
go to the Microsoft Download Center, enter the KB numbers in the field to Search all Download Center , click the magnifying glass to search and download for Vista updates that correspond to the architecture of the system. (The architecture of the system is displayed when you open System in Control Panel and look at the side of System: type.)

Save updates. When the downloads have finished, close the browser and all other open programs and install them one at a time. Suggest that each time you are prompted to restart.

You can configure the phone assigned to the clean boot. Then see if the connection is restored, the updates can be downloaded and installed-

Each manufacturer is different things about the recovery partition.  You need to contact the computer manufacturer (online - they can publish procedures - or by telephone) for instructions on how to use the recovery disk (there are probably a combination of special keys at boot that activates the process).  Keep in mind that this type of resettlement will completely eliminate your primary system partition, so don't forget to backup your important data until you try it.
