    A few months ago, I started getting a message when I tried to stop that I had to install 3 updates first.  The problem is installation has failed each time and the message "install 3 downloads" has been causing a delay important whenever I stopped while he goes through the motions of installing the updates.  But they do not have to install each time (according to the update on the computer folder.  I tried all the patches 'easy' and reluctant to mess with the patch that says am ' attention otherwise you will really cause a problem.  How can I solve this problem?

    Try the following steps to resolve the problem:

    Method 1: Temporarily disable any security (including firewalls) software and check if the problem persists.

    I get an error code 643 trying to apply the following two updates by using Windows Update in Windows 7 Home Premium;

    -Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64-based Systems (KB954430)
    -Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64-based Systems (KB973688)

    I tried to update more than 10 times without success.  I get the error details: Code 643 for updates.

    Each update else installed very well so far.

    AMD Athlon Neo X 2 Dual Core processor l.335 1.60 GHz
    4 GB OF RAM

    I noticed that there is no file msxml4.dll on my Windows/system32 folder.

    I have just run into the same problem!

    Todays Nov 25/09 windows automatic update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64 systems (KB973688).
    Installation status: failed
    Error details: Code 643
    Update type: Important

    Processor Core 7 920 Windows 7 standard upgrade to Vista Ultimate.
    Ouch again. That's the second problem with W7. Wasen can't able to install Flight Sim in windows7 says component MSXML 4.0 SP2 is not installed, please reinstall Flight sim to restore or repair, does that twice, but it does not work. This failure of XML Core Services could be linked to the MCXML 4.o problem?

    I followed all the commits that I can find, but not of specific solutions.

    I'm having the same problem (Vista). I can't find a solution validated for the error code 643 for the fix described.  I keep being told that the installation has failed.
