Error code 66A, 800706BE and 800706BA when installing updates.

What should I do? All updates are important, and some have been waiting for a long time now that I have not had time to find solutions (and I'm still you wonder why should it be me who find solutions to AUTOMATIC updates...)

Please advice clearly, I'm not a tech genius!

Hello
  • Who is the update that you are trying to install?

You can use the following methods that can help you solve your problem:

Method 1:

I suggest to fix the .net framework functionality in Windows and then try to install the update.

Steps to repair Microsoft .net Framework

a. Click Start, and click Control Panel.

b. navigate to the program and features.

c. scroll down for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile, do a right click.

d. it will give you a choice of uninstall/change, click it.

e. then it will give a choice to repair it, choose repair. It will take about 4 to 10 minutes to repair (with my PC), your experience may vary.

f. When finished, open Windows update and update again.

Method 2:
a. Click Start and type Services in the search bar and click on enter.
b. go to the following Service and make sure the following boot parameters are enabled:

  • Remote procedure call (RPC) - automatic
  • Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator - Manual

c. If you need to change one or two parameters, restart and check again to make sure that the two settings are still in effect.

Method 3:

If this isn't the case, perform the methods listed in the section below and check if that helps to install the updates successfully. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/940520
