  To resolve this problem, you must clear the existing proxy settings by performing the following steps:

  1. open the start menu, select run, type cmd and press ENTER.
  2. to display the current, proxy settings, at the command prompt, type Proxycfg.exe, and then press ENTER to run the command.
  3. to clear the existing proxy settings, type Proxycfg-d, and then press ENTER.
  4. Finally, ensure that the Background Intelligent Transfer Service is running on the computer by following these steps:
  1. open the start menu, select run, type Services.msc and press ENTER.
  2. scroll through the Services window and double-click on Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
  3. If the service does not, on the general tab, click the Start button.
  5 re-run the update of Windows Vista on the PC.

     HKEY_USERS\. DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
  4. In the details pane of the registry editor, search for AppData. This key value must be % USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming.
  5. If the value is not defined % USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming, right-click AppData in the details pane, and then click change.
  6. Enter %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming in the value data box, and then click OK.
  7. Close the registry editor.
