  Hi guys,.

  I am running Windows Vista Premium Home 64 bit. This all started when update me my iTune recently and since then it has been a headache after another. Basically, when I try to install iTune, it says that I need to install Apple Application Support first, and when I do that, I get the following message appears:

  "An error occurred during the installation of assembly"Microsoft.VC80, CRT, Version... ". "and it lights up.

  In addition, I also tried to install Vista SP 2 recently but my window update also gives me a pain. I can't get the update because when I try, it says 80070242 error code - Windows Update encountered an unknown error.

  Thanks for the suggestion of Augustine, but the problem is still present. The order went through, but I always feel error 80070424 and is possibly due to a malfunction of Windows Installer Module.

  Suggest you check to see if the Windows Modules Installer service is present, has not been disabled and can be started.
  Right click the computer on the desktop or the Start Menu and choose Manage
  The UAC prompt to enter a password if one is used, then click on continue or Yes.
  If no password is used, click on continue.
  Click the arrow next to Services and Applications
  Click Services in the left frame
  Scroll down the list of Services in the context of e right until you come of Windows Modules Installer .
  If it is present, check under Startup Type to see if it has been disabled.
  The default setting is manual.
  At the top left will be a link to start the service
  Click on it and see if the service can be started.

  If the installer of Modules of Windows is disabled, right click on it and choose Properties .

  I recently had a problem with my iPhone 5 c whose parameters of the carrier completely dropped. I was recommended by my carrier themselves to restore the iPhone via iTunes to recover the carrier settings. Doing this, I was shocked to see "the iPhone"iPhone"could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (50). "and does everytime I try to restore it. It is now stuck in recovery mode!

  I have done through my Macbook and had this message and by Toshiba laptop my father, I got a code (-1) in the same game. The bar on the iPhone is about 60% and then freezes here until you remove it from the computer. He seems to always stop to check the firmware.

  I tried everything I found online (an another USB / firewall from / date iTunes) and none have got any further. Anyone recommend anything else?

  Todays Nov 25/09 windows automatic update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x 64 systems (KB973688).

That's the second problem with W7. Wasen can't able to install Flight Sim in windows7 says component MSXML 4.0 SP2 is not installed, please reinstall Flight sim to restore or repair, does that twice, but it does not work. This failure of XML Core Services could be linked to the MCXML 4.o problem?

  I followed all the commits that I can find, but not of specific solutions.

  I'm having the same problem (Vista). I can't find a solution validated for the error code 643 for the fix described.  I keep being told that the installation has failed.

  Reluctant to do a reinstall of windows.  I had the same problem, find the same useless information on a cure.  I did a reinstall of windows (Vista) and partially by installing the updates of windows I ran into the same problem again, the windows installer does not.  Even from scratch will get not anywhere, leaving you at least your system as it stands leaves can be used instead of a partially updated with no program system.
