Error Code 80071AA7 application Microsoft update - Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista (KB2618444) ""updates can not be configured. " Changes in return ".

OK, I'll be back and I see your scary prognosis. I guess it would take some time to complete because it invovled five years of updates from McAfee to be reinstalled. If it takes about an hour, I should be able to get this done.

I have reviewed your steps again and have a question before I enter into it-

Given that this procedure you built has several reboots, how can I stop Windows trying to do the update of KB2618444 during each reboot of the tel? According to your interior, the update in question should be attempted that after reinstalling McAfee is carried out correctly, right?

See you soon.

Repost...

The computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All your personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Given that this procedure you built has several reboots, how can I stop Windows trying to do the update of KB2618444 during each reboot of the tel?

Don't worry about this. In any event, step #11 "purges" the queue KB2618444.

Comment: IMHO, McAfee Security Center is one of the worst (if not the worst) & most precarious security market suites. A casual survey of the malware removal forums shows that AVG Free is installed on most of the computers infected with the suite McAfee runs a close second.

[There is a reason that so many ISPs around the world offer McAfee Security Suite as a freebie: customers get this that they don't pay for.]

If it was my computer, I would install Microsoft Security Essentials (free) instead of reinstalling the suite McAfee at the #3-Oui stage, even if the subscription does not expire until September 2013.

  • get the 0x400110020000100b error code while making the recovery of the system for windows vista 32 bit.

I tried to do a system restore on my laptop using the included recovery disks and had this error 0x400110020000100B. The drive looked pretty beaten last week so I ordered a new series. Now, when I got to put disc 2 in (to 80% full) I get the same error.  I called customer service and he took me through the process of F9, nothing works and I also tried the F11 approach that made me not the case.  I'm frustrated because I don't really have the money for a new laptop computer.

Laptop is a HP Pavilion DV6700.

    Hello:

See if you can make your own Vista installation disc if you can read the product key 25 character on the bottom of your laptop.

    Here's how:

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

  • Date security upward for Windows Vista (KB2644615)

Date of security upward for Windows Vista (KB2644615) has my computer in a loop of the installation, how to fix this?

    Hello

    Method 1:

You can run the fix - it from the following link.
The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

    Method 2:
I suggest to temporarily disable the antivirus installed on your computer program and then try to install the updates. Check out the following link.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software
NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:
    Step 1:

Try to put your computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install Windows vista service pack 1 manually.
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. Read the following article.

  • Why Microsoft did remove the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to fix it?

No Option to install repair - SAD

    Hello

Why Microsoft removed the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair.

I recently had a problem where Vista Business 64-bit would only boot to a black screen with a mobile cursor - KSOD.   Who, in searching the Web I found is a fairly common problem with Vista.  I discovered that my only option was about to reinstall Vista CLEAN and all the other programs I had installed under it.  I can't believe that Microsoft released the 'repair installation option"similar to that of Windows XP, where you can hit the"R"key during installation and we left with nothing but the"System Restore"options and"Startup Repair ".  Neither of which has helped in my situation.  Since then, this was a dual system boot with XP Pro, then any restore point has been removed from the partition to Vista anytime, I started another recognized problem, by Microsoft, which Microsoft has made no significant effort to fix, in addition to recommending that you hide the partion Vista in XP - a whole of XP.  That beats a little the entire purpose of dual boot.

As I tried to start in safe mode, it left me at the same point as a normal boot - black screen with a cursor.  I tried ctrl + alt + delete and nothing. Two Windows RE options did not help me.  This left me no option but to the completely reinstall Vista.   Why Microsoft did remove the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair.. Please don't tell me that it is because Vista uses an image file instead of an installation as XP system.   I see no other reason for not allowing the upgrade of outside BONE in addition to Microsofts greed and paranoia that he can transform the operating system easier to install illegally.  I hope that some third party has actually changed the Vista installation routine to allow you to install Vista on itself, because as it is, it's really hard for me to even recommend Vista as the operating system or install any where else, if not the only recourse after loading OS, is to reinstall completely.

Adobe, Autodesk, and almost all other software publishers... allow you to perform a "REPAIR" of their software installation, if something prevents you to load after installation.  Even MS Office has a routine repair.  Ms has an internal version of the Setup routine which allows outside the OS upgrade option that you want to "Upgrade" / repair? ".  If not, why?

    -Todd w.

"Why Microsoft removed the ability for Windows Vista to install on herself from one location other than being inside the BONE you want to repair."

«.. . After using XP's repair function, the operating system itself would become less stable and frankly not in a good state of repair. »

    As Todd, is the answer.

"This response does not hold water as on one of my computers I've been running Windows XP for about four years now, after a repair install.

Then, you were lucky.  Try to replace the system files on a computer that does not start even at a desk or safe mode usually will get a return to office, but will probably repeat the same problem in a few weeks.  Tech professional would only use this function to retrieve the data before a complete reinstallation.

    Liz

    Hi Liz,

Sorry, you have problems getting your patches installed. I have a number of things for you to look at.  First of all, your Background Intelligent Transfer Services set to Automaticand started and Windows Update ? You can check these settings by typing services.msc in the search box of the start menu.

Sometimes in order to get patches to install correctly, you must perform these tasks manually.

    (1) Download Center to visit Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.
    (2) search for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB979309).
    3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run.  You must accept the agreement and then click on continue.
    (4) repeat this process for each download of updates Windows could not install.
    (5) to rerun the update from Microsoft, click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

    Hope this helps,

    Barbara

  • Update for Windows Vista x 64 works not

I have not seen any activity in the program of automatic update at least 6 months.  Then I manually ran and a window opens and freezes.  Then I tried the search and the site of Microsoft for patch with no results.  I was just trying the "stand-alone installation of Windows Update" and only he stuck to "Preparation has completed.

I checked http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946414 with any result.

    Hi BlackForge,

You can try first to rename the folder c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution in safe mode in the account administrator, but before trying to stop the services I mentioned in the previous post. They will ideally stop in safe mode.

Another step, you can try is to clean boot of windows. To do this, follow the link below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once you put the computer in a clean boot state, try windows updates.

In addition you can try is to add windows update to the list of trusted web sites. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. open Internet Explorer
    2. click on tools.
    3. click on security
    4. click on "Trusted Sites".
    5. clear the "Enable Protected Mode" check box.
    6. click on 'Sites '.
    7. in the add this Web site to the type of area: https//*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
    8. click on 'Add '.
9 make sure that 'Require a secure server' is not checked.
    10. close.

I hope your problem will be solved for these measures.
