Error code 80242FFF when you try to install security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista (KB2699988)

They did not work.  So, will you be able to help me find a solution?

    Hello

    1. is that the copy of windows is enabled?

2 is the issue limited to the installation of a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista (KB2699988)?

I suggest to perform the steps in the following article and check.

Method 1: run the Windows update troubleshooting tool and check.

The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

Method 2: I suggest you to put the computer in a clean boot state and check if Windows update installs successfully.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Vista will not be updated to the Service Pack 1 or 2

I have Vista and have windows automatically updates.  Of course, it is never updated with the Service Pack 1 or 2, and when I go to Windows updates, it says I have no updates available.  Recently I had trouble with my anti-virus software, and they said it was because my computer has not been updated.  I didn't know that I was not common.   However, I get error Code 80070002 when I try to install Service Pack 1, so SP2 cannot be downloaded until I get this one.  I tried everything I could find as an aid, but they were especially when people had problems years ago, when it came out.  What can I do?

    Hi kimber222,

If these steps are not successful, the next step is and InPlace upgrade. This process is an alternative to reinstalling the operating system. During the process, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost.

Run a repair installation will restore your current install of Windows to the version of the installtion CD/DVD. You will have to reinstall all the updates that are not included on the CD/DVD.

Although this process should not damage files and the applications installed on your computer, it is always safe to make sure that you have a recent backup of your data and how to reinstall all software you have installed.

Fill out the next step for the InPlace upgrade:

    1. Close all open applications.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista CD/DVD intot he computers CD/DVD drive.
    3. In the windows installation program, click install now.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:

Click on start and type Drive: \setup.exein the box to start the search.

Note The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.

    List programs, click Setup.exe.

In the settings window, click install now.

    1. click on connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).

    2. type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.

If there is no anti-virus installed on your computer, it is likely infected. You need to clean it up before you can install an antivirus and certainly you don't want to try to install a Service Pack on an infected computer.

You need to clean it up first.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed. If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I had to do a restore system with xp home edition. Trying to update from sp1 which has been downloaded to the thumb drive and sent to my office at the top of the page. starts to load, and then tells me that the server did not respond. I am connected

You do not start with a service pack earlier and go to the top. You only download the latest service pack. The latest service pack for Windows XP Home Edition is Service Pack 3.

Go to Windows Update and see if you can find it there.

If this isn't the case, then you can manually download it here:

It is a CD image file that requires you to burn to a CD or use a virtual CD/DVD software like Virtual CloneDrive. This allows you to open the ISO file as if it was a real CD inserted into your DVD drive. All you have to do is double-click the ISO file, once you have installed this program. Run the configuration file.

Still seems to be a problem Adobe must answer, especially with the new CC version and update to come Monday, I bet that there will be a lot of discussion of this problem the week next in the forums.
