  I have the same problem two days ago. However, I had installed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) at the beginning when I bought my computer Dell (dec 2010) (I have not used McAfee). Two days ago, I ran backup on my disk network as usual and got the error message, but I noticed that the MSE has detected a threat to java. I decided to uninstall all downloads in two days ago, and the most important was to run a COMPLETE SCAN of MSE. He caught 3 java threats and withdrawn. After that, I ran backup again and it worked perfectly. I hope that this experience will help someone when I post my response.

  My computer is a desktop i-5, Dell, Windows 7 Ultimate, my network drive is connected to Linksys E3000 of Seagate.

  Note 2: I went through the so-called "reparse points" and without success.

  Note 3: Download those that I uninstalled everything came from Apple (please don't hurt me I don't like Apple.) I just wanted to test in all circumstances.)

  Exactly the same problem and same solution: run Full scan in MSE (which found a few 'malware' which is associated javea), then uninstall java worked well!
