  Download the updates manually and Save -

  Update of security for Microsoft Works 8 (KB973636)

  Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB972363)

  When the download is completed, close all open programs and browsers.
  Install the updates in the order that they were presented.
  If KB963736 was presented first in the list of updates, install first.

  For KB972363, right-click on it, choose "Run as Administrator", enter a password if one is used or click continue to install.

  To get the Windows error meets during updates, you can try to read the Windowsupdate.log file using the http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=902093 article

  Also try the few measures available under article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058, the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798 and the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906602 if they relate to your error.

  The solution is at the bottom of the page that gave you Bill Smithers. It involves the use of the .NET Framework cleanup tool.

  Here, I'll give it to you in a step by step easy procedure...

  First try this...
  Download and run the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool , then visit Windows Update and let it try to reinstall updates. Once it's done, scan again with Windows Update to ensure that they properly installed.

  If this does not fix it try this...

  Uninstall the .NET Framework 1.1. Then download the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool
  In the drop-down list box, select 1.1 and clean.
  Reinstall .NET Framework 1.1
  Download and install. NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
  Visit Windows Update or Microsoft Update and let it install the rest of the 1.1 updates, including KB2833941.
