Error code stand-alone Installer
Recently installed Windows 7 Proffesional as a clean install, Windows update has failed then ran Installer standalone and got the 0x802400e error code.
Having a 64 bit version of Windows 7 and PC has less than 12 months.
Have not been able to find an answer to what this error code means so that can try to solve the problem.

Stand-alone installation of Windows 7 problem
I have just installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit and then installed an upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate on a new desktop computer.
All up and running.
When I download and try to install Service Pack 1 - KB947821-v34 - x 64, I encounter this error
Windows Update Standalone install.
"Setup has detected the error: 0xc8000222.
I also have the same error message when I try to install XP Mode.
WindowsXPMode-en-us (1) installs OK (installed first)
Windows6. 1 - KB958559 - x 64-RefreshPkg (Virtual PC) - error: 0xc8000222
I also downloaded the Microsoft troubleshoot and get this message
"A problem is preventing the troubleshooting tool to start.

Hello. I noticed that no new updates have been installed on my computer (with the exception of all updates for Windows Defender but also the recent Microsoft .NET Framework Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework family updates). Everything else, like security updates, have failed since January 13, 2009. I saw someone else who has had this problem for 9 months. The error code is 8E5E0147. Wndows update download and try to install the updates. However, once completed, it says "failed". I worry because my computer is not updated for April fool virus. Can I get any help here? I heard people say that maybe I need to ask a Windows installation CD.

I think I found the answer. My Norton Internet security and Antivirus had expired. When I got Windows security updates, I had no program to receive these updates. I renewed my subscription, and everything worked. It has not been easy. However. I had to keep doing updates on Norton security until I received the message "no new updates were found" after that, I got all the new definitions and update of WIndows was allowed to install thanks to the new KB for your help.

I am extremely exhausted; I tried everything I know for 4-5 hours trying to solve this problem. I am not versed in computer engineering, but I try to fix things for me before I ask for help.
I have
A 32-bit Vista (Home, SP2) system
MS Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 Redistributable respectively (if it matters)
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4 Client Profile
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Version (if it matters)I recently found access to my laptop after 1 year + and started the update of all my old programs, plugins, etc etc Windows Updater has been able to update some components, but not all. First of all, I realized that I couldn't update and install updates to some progs & apps when I tried to update Java, and it's install not can run due to problems of 'Internet connection '. I was able to update MS Security Essentials and toolkit ahead of the healthcare system (ASC) and so I ran every possible scanner to fix any problems I have on my system.
Had spent a day and I ran Windows Updater again because there are more updates to install and still some installed once and others don't, especially Vista updates. Then I started getting the 80072edf error Code. I tried a solution of Microsoft Community and 'Microsoft Fix It' downloaded and tried to run from here but it starts to give me the same error code. I searched for an alternative and tried to run ReimageRepair.exe of but wasn't able to install. I also did the firewall exceptions are in place, but of no use.
I tried to update the old drivers that I could have. I ran Driver Manager CSA and found that I needed to update my network card driver Realtek Realtek RTL8102E Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) 6.250 version. I downloaded the version 6.251 file but I do not know how to upgrade because there was no installation file.
I think that the driver may be related to my problem, or I may have a runtime problem, a problem of Visual C++, a problem of .NET Framework or something else. I don't know what is the purpose of the any of these programs, but I just need to upgrade my PC and have access to applications such as MSN Messenger, including convenience store said it was a question key Ports, which he could not solve.
