Error code "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please see your administrator. "
Where are located the restrictions? This happens in OUTLOOK 2007 every time a link in an e-mail message is used. I hope has occurred since the recent upgrade Windows 7 Home of Vista (didn't happen under Vista with Outlook 2007) where the # $$ % is the correct seting to activate links?
Please see my response in this thread:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effort on this computer. "Please contact your system administrator."

read this information on the Defender:
· If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default
the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender
and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware
It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do
If the above does not apply to your machine to read the information on the below link on how to disable the windows defender service in vista or make an autostart to enable
and here is the method to remove it from startup in vista
http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/remove-Windows-Defender-from-Vista-system-startup/
and this is how you would normally activate or disable windows defender in vista from within defenders of own and options tools

and read this information to microsoft:
Error message when you run Windows Defender: «Error 0x800106ba»

and if you need to change startup programs read this information on the other methods of doing it without using defender
using msconfig read this tutorial:
How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista
Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup
http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html
and also try this FREE program Autoruns:
This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. d. on the tab programs, under Internet programs, click on set programs, then "set your default programs, select your e-mail program and click"set this program as default.
e. click OK, and then close the dialog boxes.
f. Similarly, you will need to set Internet Explorer by default and make sure the problem is resolved. If you are using Outlook, and then try the steps in the following article:

Original title: Error message
I created several hyperlinks in excel spreadsheets over the years. I created a refrencing today a location in the same workbook as the hyperlink and several places of the week refrencing last on my hard drive. None of the links work now.
All hyperlinks have worked in the past. Today, I got an error message "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. "that's me, since this is my personal office. I made no changes in Excel or Windows.
Possible reasons?
Where still look to find and fix this problem. I think it's a matter of windows and not a problem of office. I have winows 7 Home Premium and Office 2010.
I just receive the same error message when you try to follow a link in an e-mail to a Web page.

Hi I_GHall
It seems that you receive the message you want to software conflicts. I suggest you try to disable either the Avira antivirus and windows defender and then check if the problem resolves.
If you disable any security software for troubleshooting temporarily, so don't forget to activate after troubleshooting is completed that your computer will be at risk.
See the help link - below
