error 'iaStorA.sys' on the Satellite U940-108

Hello

I have a portable Satellite U940-108. I had to replace the hard drive failure.
After retrieving the backup of the following Win 8.1, start the laptop the error message system: System Thread Exception unhandled (iaStorA.sys).

This error also occurs if Win 8.1 is installed with an installation CD, and then the drivers are loaded.
I have updated the drivers to the latest version.

I beg your help.
A welcome message.
Jordi Miralles.

After the HARD disk has been removed and replaced the RAID configuration is lost and must be rebuilt.
I don t know exactly the procedure, but in order to use the RAID feature that is controlled by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology, the RAID must be to rebuild and this can be done by the service provider accredited with special tools and method.

After that, I guess that this error will go away.

  • Windows XP Professional Setup copy iaStor.sys then the OS says that it cannot copy the file iaStor.sys.

After the RAID 0 disk partitioning, installing Windows says it will copy the files in the file system. The first file is iaStor.sys. My SATA CD drive runs for a few seconds, then there is a long pause, then the OS says that it cannot copy the file iaStor.sys. He goes on to say that I should check that there is a CD in the drive. Any ideas?

Here's the solution to this problem:

    1. in the disk driver (a:\) root directory create a directory called holiday of $ $OEM existing files as they are, we will not delete or replace anything.

    2. in the directory $ $OEM you have created, create another directory called TEXTMODE

    3. copy all the driver files located in the root directory to the A:\$OEM$\TEXTMODE subdirectory, try to reinstall, it should now work.

    Hello

I guess you want to install the operating system (which one?) on the internal mSATA SSD 32GB?
This mSATA SSD is used for caching (hybrid boot) to start Windows faster 8.

I recommend you to install the second operating system on the HARD drive.
To do this you must create the new partition that could be used for the installation of the OS.

Then boot from the Windows installation disc and install the OS 2nd on the new partition.

    Hello

In my opinion, this is Microsoft related question to verify please what Microsoft write-http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358

In my opinion, you should follow:
-If you can start your laptop OS start and create recovery media first (image backup recovery)
-install the recovery media using HARD drive option or created a support of recovery-http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm
-After doing this, you will have good rework plant and OS parameters
-disable the automatic updates of Windows. Do manyally after you ve been informed of available updates
-do not optional updates for some updates of available drivers
-a list of important updates and install only a part of it
-After restarting the laptop computer do it again.

You know that's not easy to say what was wrong with the updates Windows. Just, without panic. ;)

I want to ride on my own laptop: toshiba Satellite C70D-A-108 & replace the cpu current part number E1-2100 processor AMD EM2100ICJ23HM / Socket BGA769 (FT3) this link & configurations of my computer laptop http://www.toshiba.fr/laptops/satellite/c70/satellite-c70d-a-108/

I want to just inquire if this replacement is possible or not & if the motherboard adaptable to the processor a6-5200 or not

Thank you for your attention, I expect to have a response as soon as possible to soon.

    Hello

At first, I must say that it is user in the forum and here you can chat with others who have laptops Toshiba and want to share their own experiences. Unfortunately here you won't get official Toshiba support.

Generally, replacement of the CPU is very delicate issue and quite often discussed on this forum. The fact is that Toshiba and other manufacturers of portable computers do not support these updates.
Toshiba has offered a few document on this matter and you can read it on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Unfortunately I can't provide accurate information on the CPU that you can use, but I assume that you have the new laptop model so CPU upgrade makes no sense to me. It's quite risky upgrade that will void your warranty. What you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and seek advice. They should have valid information about hardware compatibility.

  • Errors of memory to the Satellite P105-s6177

    Hi all

I have Toshiba Satellite P105-s6177. He was showing classic symptoms of disorders of memory for months - I get random patterned like MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bsod BAD_POOL_HEADER and a few others, I don't quite remember, especially something on a page in a fault zone unpaged. He lived several reformats nothing doesn't. I ran the windows memory test and it said that I had a RAM error within seconds of starting.

Recently, I tried to reformat since the backup drives that Toshiba came with the computer and the computer got a BSOD in the middle of the restructuring process. I tried for a few times more and get what Google tells me is a RAM error. I pulled out a piece of RAM, tried, replaced the RAM pulled the other piece, try and get errors of memory. I apologize because I don't remember the name of the specific error that I receive, I will try to provide as soon as possible.

Basically, I cut down to either the two pieces of RAM being corrupted or virus in the BIOS, simulating a RAM error. Is there a way I can test it for a virus in the BIOS? Currently, I can not even the computer to boot, it has no operating system installed on it because of the fiasco of reformatting. The most I can do, is bring up a command prompt.

Thank you for your time and attention.

And why don't you try to get the new RAM module and test it? For me, it's the best thing you can do now.
There must be some problems with the RAM addressing.

  • Dual boot Linux - Windows on the Satellite U940

    Hello to everyone.

I'm pretty new to this forum and I have a Toshiba Satellite nine U940-10N? Using Linux for the past 2 years, I would install a debian wheezy on this distribution.

Only Debian has been installed on my old computer, so I'm net really uncomfortable with dual boot especially with the ssd.

I really don't like windows, but I still sometimes work on this subject.

Don't you think it would be better to install linux on the system system, as I've seen on most threads, with only the/home on the HARD drive? Or do you think it would be interesting to build another raid as if it was now for windows? You want better performance and speed this way.

Another question: is it possible to have a data to ext4 partition and make windows to see or what I write to ntfs? I noticed that the written on linux with gparted fat32 and ntfs are not recognized by windows 8.
Those are my questions for now.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

First let's look at your situation - U940-10N will probably be a unit Win8, right?
If YES - then the BIOS must be configured for a UEFI boot.
    Secure boot can be disabled.

It seems Debian is not so far in supporting UEFI / EFI start modes.
Look at this ad from back in October:

    http://www.debian.org/devel/Debian-Installer/news/2012/20121018

So, you'll need to make sure that your debian flavor may start in UEFI boot mode.
If this isn't the case, you will have problems getting the two OS' (Debian and Win8) live side by side and start-up without problem.

Then, you will need to ensure that Debian is able to install a bootloader that takes account of Windows 8 and is able to start this OS.

Storage looking, I tried to install Fedora on a system of double storage (SSD + HDD).
I installed the OS on the SSD and my structure of the House was placed on the HARD drive.
    It worked very well.
I think that this also provides better performance, but I have no real statistics to back it up.

Ext4 is not supported by Windows out of the box, but there is an existing driver that implements ext2, 3, 4 support for Windows: http://www.ext2fsd.com/

If you ask me, I'd rather have Linux to access an NTFS partition that having Windows trying to write on a partition Ext2/3/4. I have full confidence in the NTFS from Linux support, but not the reverse.

If Fat and NTFS partitions are not recognized by Windows, check that partitions Fat32 or NTFS.
Maybe it's that the file systems are NTFS / Fat but the partitions have signatures of Linux.

    Hope this helps

  • Impossible to install Linux on the Satellite U940-103

I'm trying to figure out how to install linux on my u940-103.
I can boot in live mode (i.e. with fedora and ubuntu too) but in the procedure of installation of the system asks me if I want to install windows alognside, it just went to the partition screen but I do not see any partition.

Another fact: when I start the pc doesn't have ask me if I want to boot from "uefi usb", just usb...

    Any idea?

    Hello

    What you want to achieve?

Get Fedora / Ubuntu alongside Win8 or get rid of Windows and have the space for Linux?

  • Error recovery disc on the Satellite A200 - not enough of space

After reformatting my laptop toshiba recovery disks will not reload windows because it says that I don't have enough space on my hard drive.

The error message is the following:
There is not enough space on S3A6134D502. You need extra 2.34 GB to copy these files.
    S3A6134D502
    Free space: 1.42 GB
    Total size: 1.46 GB

It seems that he has created a new partition which allows to load windows on the partition being too small.

Problem is that you have modified the standard settings for the recovery procedure.
First partition on the disk HARD is called WinRE partition and this partition has a capacity of 1.5 GB.
When you start the recovery procedure and simply click OK or NEXT all went well.

I guess you have chosen configuration option and click on the second option to install the operating system on an existing partition.

What you probably want to do is to install the OS on the C partition only in the second hope or all other partitions will not be deleted or formatted. Right?
I tested several times on P200 and A200.

It won't work then only option is to erase the whole HARD drive and before recovery installation starts all existing data and partitions will be deleted and formatted.
So before you begin installation OS Backup all important data and install OS without changing anything.

  • Re: How to change the Satellite L650-108 screen resolution greater than 1024 x 768

You just bought a new 108 L650, but I cannot fix the upper to 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
    It should be 1366 x 768.

Right-click on the desktop and choosing the resolution of the screen only gives you the opportunity to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. I can't find anyway to get it to the correct resolution.

    Help would be most appreciated.
