  Hi, I get the above error when trying to move a file that I downloaded. He asks me to administrator rights, which i can approve (despite me being the only user on the computer.

  The file is an update of an independent program for which I have downloaded several updates for any incident before. I was also on the Forum here, and no one else has had this problem with the file.

  I managed a temporary solution - work around rather than fix - download the patch directly on the desktop, unzip and copy paste n from there. Hope that helps.

  The format of archive is unknown or damaged

  I am able to download and extract the file with no problems - try another machine or clear the browser cache/history before downloding the patch.

  You may have a corrupt hotfix package or may have downloaded the wrong fix for your operating system platform. You must make sure that the hotfix you download is X 64 (64 bit) and not a 32-bit (X 86) as you're running vista 64-bit operating system.

  Please see if you can copy the file downloaded to another computer and try to unpack.  Or try to download another package and see if you can decompress this file.

  This package contains the TC00569300A.exe file.
  It is also a package, so you should be able to unpack this TC00569300A.exe by right-clicking on the file and choosing the option: extract or unpack here. I use the WinRAR tool to unzip the zipped packages.
  After the exe was unzipped, you will see the setup.exe.

  The BCd is the Vista bootloader which is necessary to load and start the Vista operating system.
  It seems that it is not found and so Vista will not start.

  The next error message saying: BOOTMGR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart would confirm my hypothesis.

  You said that your system slows down considerably.

  Possibly the HARD drive is faulty. I have only this one explanation.

  Can you post more information about this behavior? What version of BIOS you are using at the moment and what BIOS update you try exactly?

  BIOS update requires administrator privileges, so you must run the update as an administrator. Also unzip all the files to zip archive before you start the update.

  May I ask * why * you want to update the BIOS?
