Error installing 32 bit application in Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter edition
Hi all
I have a software that worked very well in a 32-bit of Windows Server 2008, I installed the same software in a 64-bit Windows server 2012 R2.
I get an "error 48 error loading the dll" error when I run.
I tried to register the dll through command regsvr32. I get an error "dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found."
I checked the dependence of the dll with other files you use Depends.exe
I tried to copy the dll in the other place, but none of them worked.
I still get the same error when I run the application.
Please help us with this if you know the solution.
Forgive me if this isn't the correct phase and guide me to the correct page.
Thanks in advance.

Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter: Activate the virtual machines on a host KVM
Hello
I bought four licenses for sale at retail of Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter. With the license of data center, I have the right to install a number of Windows Server R2 instances unmlimited 2012 on the physical machine with the associated license.
The question now is: How can I activate Windows in virtual machines?
As virtualization host, I use KVM, AVMA is not possible. I need a KMS host key to set up a KMS host. I tried to use my product key for the retail license but the VMAT does not accept the key, because it's a KMS - no key. Where should I paste my product key for the KMS host key?
Kind regards
Thomas

Suspension of consistent application on Windows Server 2012 invited with U2 ESXi 5.0
We lack ESXi 5.0 U2 (build 1254542) and we are going to have problems making consistent application paused on our virtual machines that are running Windows Server 2012.
We use Acronis vmProtect, and he throws warnings on our VMS in 2012 on the SQL Writer is not not available. I contacted the Acronis support and they said that it is a problem with the suspension of consistent application.
When I take a snapshot of a VM 2012 (verification of the ability to perform a capture instant consistent application) capture instant full fine without errors or warnings. But when I look at the vss_manifests zip file that is created, there is only a single file (backup.xml) with a single line.
When I take a snapshot of the suspended application on our virtual machines that are running server 2008, the vss_manifests zip file also contains files for each of the VSS writers.
I checked the disc. EnableUUID is set to true (the virtual machines created on ESXi 5.0 U2 with Virtual Machine Version 8). I have even manually it specified.
I checked that the virtual machines use only SCSI disks (there is only 1 disc) and is not a GPT disk or dynamic within the guest OS. It is a thin disc put into service, if that matters.
I checked VMWare Tools is installed on the client, and I tried to reinstall it.
Is there something else I should look for consistent suspension with applications working on Windows Server 2012?
What do I need to run ESXi 5.1 for this to work? (Or could I just install the latest version of VMWare Tools manually?)
If I have to run ESXi 5.1, 5.0 to 5.1 ESXi licenses are worth? (We have the 5 Essentials license Server vCenter).
If I have to run ESXi 5.1, must I also improve our vCenter Server installation of 5 to 5.1?
Thank you
We've finally updated to 5.5 and everything seems to work fine now.

Install OfficeJet Pro 8610 on Windows Server 2012
Hello
I'm trying to install the drivers for a Pro OfficeJet 8610 on a system running Windows Server 2012. I installed the drivers from here (after choosing Windows 2012 for the operating system): http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Officejet-Pro-8610-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/53...
First of all, I tried to install using the GUI (Setup.exe) but ran into an error indicating that the operating system was not compatible.
I did some research and discovered that these drivers must be installed by using the command line and the command msiexec.exe. I tried to do it by using the following command-line (with administrator privileges): msiexec.exe /i PATHTOMSI
However, when I do that, it gives me ALWAYS an error of incompatible operating system. Don't know what to do here.
Here is a link to the Post on the HP Forum explaining the need for a command line install: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/installing-Pro-8610-Windows-server-2008rt-X64/m-p/426...
Thank you.
I ended up soliving this problem myself while tinkering around.
I went through the process of adding a new printer through the devices window and printers.
I said my printer was not listend so opted to manually configure a printer. I have created a new local port and he just called the name of the printer. He then invited for drivers. I chose the disc and then navigated to the folder where I had extracted the printer drivers. Selected this file and the drivers installed.
This example gets the drivers installed in the system. Windows should then automatically recognize/install the printer if it is plugged.
Mind you, I had to do that only for printing on a desktop connection remote. If you need the real HP software installed to print AND scan, this will not work for this.

I installed the free trial of windows server 2012 and will not start
I could download it without errors, burn the ISO image to a CD. The installation process was not interrupted and without errors looks like. I was able to create the admin password and sign in. As soon as I log in, I get this window cmd.exe. He said c: \users\administrator. Something has gone wrong? If this is not the case, how does move?
I'm not an IT professional but I'm ready to learn personnel, is also learning project, but it seems that the server welcome me friendly.Support is located in the Windows Server Forums:

Hello
We have 2 security groups, 1 to provide desktop access remotely located in "remote desktop users"and 2. To provide administrative access to the group "Administrators".
We have few users who are not part of the Administrators group, they can only access the machine as they are the Group of the party "remote desktop users".
We do not want to add a few "remote desktop users" to the "Administrators group" to run an application as an administrator, so is it possible in windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise to provide these users admin access only to run this unique application... They should not be able to do anything but him running this application as admin...
Its only for a few users selected not all who has remote access to this computer...
Thank you

Windows Server 2012 R2 - HF ALL them do not install as "does not apply to this computer.
Hello
A general question about patch installs.
I have several servers which are all Windows 2012 R2. They don't have internet connections, so I have to install the patches manually. I have download the HF from the download page of the ISO (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/913086) every month. I collect them and install in a facility in bulk during a release cycle (once or twice a year). I just realized that no. HF have installed since JUNE 2014. Each HF that appears in the directory WindowsServer2012R2 do not settle with a message "the update is not applicable to your computer. Which is fine if that was true, but... I get this message for each HF ISO since June 2014. NOT a single HF, it's applicable to my computer. Would this be the case? No HF apply to my 2012 since June of 2014 server systems?
This is my system information, and below that is the result of any attempt to install 95 HF

12 c install on Windows Server 2012 fails on creating user
Hello
Tried to install 12 c EE on Windows Server 2012 using the interactive Setup program.
On step 8 of 13 in the Setup is the screen specify user Oracle home.
I selected 'Create a new Windows user' and entered oracle as user name.
Things seem to be process fine until she apparently didn't try to create the oracle user.
An excerpt from the journal of the installActions.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Solved! It is the value of password that I have provided the Oracle installer to create the new user of windows.
The value was acceptable for the oracle Installer, but was not acceptable for Windows as a valid password.
A better password and installation continued.

Cost of upgrading Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials
I recently purchased Windows Server 2012 Essentials for use as a small home server. I have not yet installed the software yet since Server 2012 R2 Essentials will be published shortly. I do agree with Microsoft Software Assurance (SA) because it is unaffordable for my use case.
This news post tackles the new R2 software costs:
http://www.ZDNet.com/Microsoft-ups-price-on-Windows-Server-2012-R2-Datacenter-by-28-percent-7000019168/Is it really true that there will be absolutely no discount 2012 Essentials to the 2012 R2 Essentials Server server upgrade? In other words, if I want to use R2, I lost only $425 on the previous version?
I'm perfectly willing to pay for the new features, but if this is actually true, it probably is the straw that will break all the time about my relationship with Microsoft. First Windows 8, forcing me to Microsoft of viscerally uncomfortable mold UI 'Modern' (I went back to Windows 7 like everyone else), then Windows 8.1 that does nothing to address my concerns and now the news that the piece remaining of the Microsoft software that is actually good is unaffordable - it's just too.
I sincerely hope that this information is incorrect, and there will be a path to a reasonable level for customers like me who cannot afford SA and cannot afford another $500 on the server software. Honestly, if this is the case I will consider seriously to switch to Linux.
Please tell me that there was a mistake. I hope that we are not at an impasse in our 30-year relationship, Microsoft...
(Apparently there is no category for the Windows Server in the Microsoft community (why?), so I'm posting here in the hope to get a response.
