  • Error message "Access is denied" when trying to install or update the drivers

Original title: Impossible to install new drivers on my system

    Hey guys,.

I have a strange problem. I can't install a new driver on my system can't update all the old drivers. In safe mode, I am able to install any driver, I need, but when I restart later to normal mode, new drivers cannot run.

When I try to install a driver, I get the following message:

Again, this is not specific for the USB MTP device, I get this message for EVERY new driver that I try to install.

    PS:

    Windows updates fail also.

What I read online error 'Access denied.' has something to do with the registry values... but I don't know exactly. Already tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, all the controls for viruses, malware and adware are out own... Don't know what else to try

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Vlad Ostrovsky

Thank you for your quick response, but I already managed to solve this problem.

Who still has the same problem in the future:

It turns out that I had some kind of malware that block access to directories and files system. I used the software "Malware Bytes" (they have a free trial version), and there are lots of malware other programs did not. After cleaning and restarted my computer, everything was back to normal!

    Thank you

  • 2689 error when trying to install iTunes.

    Original title: 2689 error

Whenever I try to download and set up iTunes, I get an error message 2689. It refers specifically to QuickTime, and at some point, the message says "picure.viewer resources not a valid path" or words to that effect. I don't have this problem with any other program or application.

Follow this Apple article and then see if you can uninstall iTunes and all other components, including QuickTime.
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1925

In some rare cases, it may be necessary remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime and software components on your computer before you reinstall iTunes.

Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. QuickTime
    3. Apple Software Update
    4. Apple Mobile Device Support
    5. Hello
    6. Application of Apple Support (iTunes 9 or later)

Then download a new version that you currently have is maybe damaged.
You can download from this web site.
    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/download/

The latest version is iTunes 10.1.2.
