Error: lsass.exe. system error.

Original title: "Lsass.exe" is there no solution?

I'm runnng Windows XP, I made the recovery of the PC/3 times now. After recovery, I have to go through the difficult task of all updates and so on. I get usually far in the process, then right after a Windows Update (you are prompted to restart) I get the error message "lsass.exe. system error '. The PC will not boot in any mode to the current and therefore the recovery of the PC again.

The restoration of the first PC was due to a problem of System32 hal.dll.

I don't know if my original problem of system32 or Windows Update is triggering my problem of Lsass.exe.

After reading these forums, it seems to be a problem for many people and there are no answers. A lot of people (like me) thought it was a (i) sass and not a sass (l) so there is even a ton of problems listed under isass.exe.

It seems that any update of Windows after the SP3, triggers this problem. So I delayed install this update, but how long can I keep that upward?

Any ideas how can I fix?

Hello

Method 1.
Try the steps listed in the article below and check.
Error message that you receive when you restart a Windows XP-based computer: "unable to locate component lsass.exe.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/922371

Method 2.
If the problem persists then install the updates one by one and check what particular update is at the origin of the conflict.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

    Hello

We will try these steps and check.

Step 1: Try using some know last good configuration and check.

Step 2: System Restore from safe mode or safe mode with network.

  • Lsass.exe system error object name not found, unable to start Windows in any mode.

I am working on a friends computer who has a problem, it does not boot in any mode.  This includes everything and all alternate Mode without failure, last known good Configuration and other options in between.

The computer is an old one but running Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and is updated from a few months ago.  He had a program to update AVG as well as several anti-spyware installed SpyBot, Adaware, and Malwarebytes programs.  Sometimes, the computer had a virus or spyware that was eventually deleted by the user with these programs in the past.

I searched the internet for at least 8-10 hours looking for solutions without real success.  If not all of you with this problem, most eventually do a full reformat their hard drive.  This owner does not have a recovery disk (lost?) with their computer for that and they have important documents that they would be saved.  A solution (last resort) is to remove the hard drive and put it in my computer to copy documents on a cd/dvd.  It is very likely to buy a newer computer at this stage anyway, but needs these documents

    -----------------

What happens is after the start screen of Windows, but before the Welcome screen, a box with the lsass.exe system error error: object name not found appears.  Clicking on it just restarts the computer to restart the process.

I used a boot Norton cd to test the virus in case it might be this worm Sasser, sometimes associated with this error and it is clean. so I really doubt that this problem is associated with that.  Also used checks and drive to scan to check for errors.  Don't check, there is no way to go back to a previous restore point or configuration.

Tried to use the recovery console out of my Windows XP installation disk: in this case I tried to develop a copy of the file lsass.exe on the hard drive, but it could not extend the file.  I tried several times with the same results.  Don't really know if that would have helped it worked.

At this point, I'm really at a loss on how to continue.  Any suggestion would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

Your friend's computer is not likely to be infected by the Sasser worm that this virus is many, many years now. Extract the data on the drive and do a clean install/factory restore of Windows. You can usually buy the mftr computer recovery media. (if an OEM brand like HP, Dell, etc.). low-cost. If you decide to reinstall Windows, test the material first to make sure it's healthy. Or skip reinstallation if your friend is going to buy a new computer and just take the data for him.

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Reinstalling_Windows - what you will need at hand

1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd, or copy it to an external hard drive. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the computer target with a Bart PE (XP only) or Linux Livecd such as Knoppix or Ubuntu and retrieve the data in this way. This has the additional advantage to tell you if the problems you are experiencing are hardware or software related because if the computer behaves perfectly in Linux, you know that Windows (software) is the culprit. Conversely, if the computer behaves badly under Linux, you will know that there is a hardware problem. This is general information on the use of Knoppix for the recovery of data when you do not have Windows:

You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with enough capacity to contain your data OR an external USB hard drive. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD *. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or freeImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created and the Windows files will be visible under Linux. If you want to burn CD/DVD, there will be a Linux burning program to use.

    * If your computer has only an optical drive and you want to use this drive to burn data or need to test drive, you can create a USB bootable Linux instead of a bootable CD. This site will show you how to do it-http://www.pendrivelinux.com

  • HP xw4600 workstation lsass.exe system error - please help

    Hello

A few days ago, I tried to restore to an earlier date and crashed the computer. I now can not connect at all I get the lsass.exe - system error message, which reads, the Security Accounts Manager initialization failed because of the following error:

    Error status 0 xC0000001.

If please, click ok to shut down the system and reboot into safe mode, etc etc.

Unfortunately, I can't go in Mode safe mode or boot from the disc, the only options that the system gives me is a total restoration, which will be deleted from my hard drive.

I can't afford to lose all my data.

Can anyone offer advice on how to solve this issue.

    Thank you

If the old sata drive is about the size of your current player you can plug it in and try your disks to restore HP for this drive.  If it is too small then the restore process fails.  Unplug your current drive or disable it in the bios before the restoration of the old drive or as possible a new player if you want to buy a new drive.  Installation of the old sata drive could be an option, but if it's a sata 1.5 MB transfer rate and keep you installed then your sata controller transfer rates will be limited to 1.5 3.0 verses.

Buy a new drive could be an option as later you can separate your data from disk to the operating system.  Will need you another sata cable and if all goes well, there is a marker of extra power on the sata power cable or you'll need a power cable adapter Y sata.  Keep the new drive less 1 GB as some PC have problems with large hard drives. You can look inside your PC and follow the power cable of your hard drive to see if it has power outlets extra.

Another option is to remove the old drive and bring it to a local PC repair shop and have then extract the data to a certain type of external media such as DVD, CD, or an external USB hard disk.

Another option is to buy an external USB disk, an imaging software that comes with a physical boot disk and restart it and copy your data to the USB key.  Rebuilding your original hard.

Or, if you are not comfortable with this then making a local PC repair workshop of your PC and make them extract your data from the PC or perhaps to recover your system for you.

  • lsass.exe system error

I searched and could not find that anything related to this issue.  I get an error message when I try to launch VMware Fusion.  He'll be trying to open Windows XP and then end with this error message:

    Lsass.exe system error

The specified image file did not have the correct format, it did have an initial MZ.

I'm under VMware Fusion 2.0.4 on a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.7

When I click OK on the error message, it starts trying to open Windows XP and ends upward, the error message in an infinite loop.  Everything worked fine until I closed my VM again. I usually just hang, but I closed this day there and then closed merge and completely off my MacBook.  So the next time I turned on my laptop and I tried to run the merger is when I received the message.

Did I leave any important information necessary to solve this problem?  I'd appreciate any help I can get with that.  I have one Windows program I really need to use and I can't seem to him.  Thank you very much!

    Cheryl P.

Looks like you may have been affected by the Sasser virus.  Search removal tools, see if you can start the Windows client in safe mode (click in the VM window immediately after power on, and disappears from the display of the POST, hit the F8 function key to display the Windows Startup menu, select Safe Mode).  If not, probably the best to restore your virtual machine from a previous backup (you did one, right?)  It's so easy with VM, because they are simply a set of files which can be easily compressed/archived in a single backup file).

  • Lsass.exe in Windows safe mode system error.

Lsass.exe in Windows safe mode system error.  I tried to repair and recovery of Windows and he persists?  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Most of lsass.exe errors, if this is the result of malware, is the result of a corrupted registry, specifically in the security hive.

    Follow the steps described here.

You can also try running chkdsk & an System File Checker analysis if the registry repair does not resolve the issue.

  • Error: wininit lsass.exe windows server restart, event ID: 1000, 1001, 1015, 6005, 6006

Hi everyone, I recently joined in a Banking Corporation as a leader of IT below support that I explained about an error that is impossible to fix.

This company is running windows server 2008 r2 standard 64 bit OS sp1.

HP proliant DL380 G7 intel xeon
    system processor: intel xeon E5620

This company is facing this problem since April 2014 to cultivate the date, but the question not yet fixed because there is no COMPUTER administrator in this endeavour to maintain this server. So, in this company, I'm the only guy with COMPUTER knowledge and my management was waiting for me to fix this error and to run the server without any problem.

The last few months I've corrected several server issues related in this society as windows update, windows daily backup, SQL server backup, user permissions, disk space low and network troubleshooting and equipment computer issues etc...,

But come to this lsass.exe I am unable to solve this problem I tried many ways to research online, but not yet fixed. Below you will find the details.

    *) fix for windows server 2008 R2 Standard sp1

After the failed to install installation
    Fix for Windows (KB2545850)

*) Tried to use the system tool
    But failed to solve problem

*) I tried this command at the command prompt
    sfc/scannow
    result
    Full check of 100%.
Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity.

*) I also tried to change the registry of one of the web links of dell values, but there is no change at all.
    http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN291309/en

*) I thought installing the fix and some other updates in safe mode only to try my luck, but when I tired to start the server in safe mode it takes a long time to start in it. But, I'll try again if this issue is going to fix through safe mode then please advise me on this.

So to come back to this question, at the time of the restart, a small window will pop up as below.
Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute. Please save your work now.

*) I tried this in shutdown command prompt cmd - to stop this judgment but does not any.

*) I've tried many ways to solve this problem, but none of them worked for me even I tried to upgrade from sp1 to sp2 but could not do so for the following reason:
    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=17669

After downloading the software from the link above and when I tried to install error appear below.
This service pack does not apply to the version of windows running on this computer.

It is the only question that is impossible to fix. So, I need expert help to resolve this issue as soon as POSSIBLE.

Note: I can not reinstall the operating system on this server because it runs many applications on the SQL 2008 database and also it is already configured with many services and I don't really know how many applications do I need to take a backup and how to configure manually. so if I reinstall OS and if I'm bored configurations or settings and then it will be difficult for employees who work on these applications. So I don't want to take the risk of doing as I said I am new to this company.

Additional information: this sever when ever it will pop up as server will restart in one minute then it restarts to 3 times without any gap, then after an interval extended from 3 to 4 hours, then it will follow even as I said above. To understand better, I'll give you this good example: If the server restart to 09:00, then 2nd reboot will be at 09:02 and the 3rd reboot will be at 09:04 and then after 3 to 4 hours apart, as about 13:00 it restarts again for 3 times vice versa.

Even I understand that I have to reinstall the OS to fix this stupid problem which is like a nightmare for me, but right now, I can't. So, please help me to solve this problem without reinstallation of server operating system.

I expect the best answer to my question that will solve my problem without any problem to this server.

Below the five examples are the main reason for my server restart. If you need anything that either more information please advice me I will answer according to your instructions.

Or... I can jump to the 'other side' in total! (My son has never such problems with its Apple/Mac but only complained not enough software and comes to me so that he cannot find solutions.)

I have studied this XP - OS on a Dell computer for a few days and now know enough to be dangerous.

In addition, this problem appeared after you apply a few serious fixes MS?

I don't know yet how to get the BIOS.  I'm not yet technically strong (but necessarily be).

How can I download necessary patches with a white screen?

I have never tried a reinstall of XP.

    I have the following CD:
    * Reinstallation CD MS Win XP Home Edition (SP1 included)
    (Currently up to SP3)
    * Application: To reinstall Dell Tools System Software
    * Dell Dimension Resource CD

Dell has 2 partitions: C:\ (the system, Windows software, etc.) and D:\ (all my data, etc.)

So... There you have it.   And, of course, would sincerely appreciate your help.

And Yes... I am committed to give once I have something to give back.

It's great to have someone on "this side of the fence!   (my son is still laughing - %^$#@!)

    trikericy,
Unfortunately, there are several things that can cause this problem, including viruses.  Usually by pressing F2 when a Dell system is powered, you will have it in the BIOS.  But you may need to check with Dell for your specific model.

If you are able to boot from reinstall drive and enter the Recovery Console, you can run the following commands to see if they will help to clarify this.

    Chkdsk /r

    sfc/scannow

If the recovery disc provided does not offer the console recovery or these elements do not disable upward, then you can perform a factory restore to reload Windows.  You will need to check with Dell on recovery options they offer.  However, since you have 2 drives, it looks like all your data will be safe and it is only a matter of reinstalling programs.  If you do a factory restore, then I suggest updating Windows before reinstalling applications.

    Hope this helps out.

  • Windows 7 RTM - lsass.exe error causes Windows reboot

I got my copy of Windows 7 RTM de MSDN AA and have been in love ever since I installed it, all except for one problem.

My computer is part of a domain the active directory.  I receive the following two errors:

The failing application name: lsass.exe, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bc155
The failed module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5be02b
    Exception code: 0xc0000374
    Offset: 0x00000000000c6cd2
ID of the process failed: 0 x 234
Start time of application vulnerabilities: 0x01ca23c92c9a9900
    The failing application path: C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe
    The failed module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
    Report ID: 1772eae8-9017-11de-a36a-001e8cb7e844

About one second after the error, I get the following error:
A process of critical system, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status 255 code.  You must now restart the machine.

Then, a message saying "Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in a minute.  Please save your work now. "and then the computer restarts a minute later.

I've found that I can pose the problem of two similar ways:
    1. I open Windows Media Center, and then watch videos, listen to music, etc..  Media Center to close and lock my computer.  Then immediately after, I unlock the computer, the message is displayed.
    2. I have block my computer, then unlock it then (I can do this as many times I love him without the following message is displayed).  As soon as I open Media Center the message appears.

That there seems to be a problem in lsass.exe or ntdll.dll I pulled copies of my installation disc and ran a MD5 checksum by comparing those in C:\Windows\System32 for those from the installation disc.  There is no difference between them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, the problem seems to have fixed itself automagically.  I do not even install Windows updates except for the regular update of Windows Defender.
