    Hello

    1. do you receive this after you see Start button or entry?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Boot errors are fixed by the clean boot.

Perform the clean boot and see if that helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

Reference: How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

Method 2: Some malware parody itself as InfoCenter.exe, especially when it is located in the folder c:\windows or c:\windows\system32.

I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

, Note 1: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note 2: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

It seems that the last update for Windows Media Player may contribute to this problem when the system has the Windows Driver Foundation Service active and running.

Unless you write your own drivers for XP and using the Windows Driver Foundation Service to help you debug, you should disable the WDF Service.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to launch the Services Applet

Locate the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Service, right-click right the Service, select properties and choose disabled and OK your way out of the Services Applet to save the changes.

Note that you will not be able to 'Stop' Service first, but it's OK.

Restart your system (the WDF service is now disabled) and check your failure condition now.

  • I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe.

    original title: error with ehshell.exe

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?

This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.

You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.

  • When I try to connect my computer with XP operating system, I get this error message to: rund1132.exe and cannot log out.

    original title: log question.

When I try to connect my computer with XP operating system, I get this error message to: rund1132.exe and cannot log out.  How can I fix?

    Hi KERRYYX,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. What is the full error message that you receive?
    5. Are you able to restart and shut down the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

  • Received a phone call from someone who said he could help me because his company had received the error messages from my computer - XINFINITY?

So I recently received calls from this guy who claims to be with Microsoft Error Reporting service, but I thought something was fishy when he couldn't tell me anything specific on my computer, which he would be able to know right away. Also, he couldn't speak a lick of English, which makes it really difficult to understand what he wanted originally.
He told me that he and his 'business' received my computer error messages, and that we should "follow the simple steps to get rid of these problems.
He told me to go to the computer management console and find the 'filter' in the display options, but being an avid user of XP, I know there is no such thing.
He then told me that it is an effect of a virus that "we need to follow the steps to get rid of. He directed me to the console to Run and had me type in this web address:
So now, things get sketchy. A free host for a supposedly serious company? I do NOT.
(Why he wanted me to use RUN to access a Web site, I have no idea, only adds to the superficiality...)
I went on the site, which lo & behold, very professional. There are four links to download files .exe with weird as names:
    -' Ammyy v3"(AA_v3.exe)
    -' Ammyy v2"(AA_v2.exe)
    -"Croosloop" (CroosLoopSetup.exe)
    - and 'ShowMyPc"(ShowMyPC3105.exe)

He said click on the first and hit. He said SAVE or CANCEL. Now, I'm not naïve or stupid or gullible, and I am computer illiterate.
I smell something fishy here. Technical support does not call you about errors, you call them.
Research in the comments left on their FREE site, I have seen that all FOUR were short and had similar spelling/grammar mistakes. Typical supported false reputation.
I did a google search, barely found anything on this "business" and the guy hung up.
This is the site that this guy directed me to: http://xinfinitytech.webs.com/quick-help/
IM asking for any information about whether if it's a scam, an attempted theft of identity/data theft, an attempt to spread of the most recent virus, or some guy who tries to help. My gut tells me that it is one of the top three.
ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

If you have not had luck in iTunes (https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_for_windows?view=discussions#/?tagSet=1234) forum, uninstall and reinstall iTunes as described below:

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.  (If you are using Vista, see THIS instead).

Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs
Remove these applications in the following order (do not restart your computer if you are prompted during this process):

    1 iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4 Hello
5 Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

    6. iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, be it, it is not necessary, then we can remove it)

    7. iPod Updater

    8 QuickTime

Open my computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete these files (if present)
    1 iPod
    2 iTunes
    3 QuickTime

Follow these steps if the message "cannot delete iPodService.exe: it is used by another person or program" appears when you try to delete the folder of the iPod.

    1. Make sure that you have iTunes and iPod Update utility are not open.
    2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
    3. Select Start Task Manager.
    4. Click the processes tab.
    5. Locate the iPodService.exe in the list.
    6. IPodService.exe-click and choose end process.
    7. Quit Task Manager.

    Empty your temp directory:
Open my computer > C: > Documents & Settings > username > Local Settings and delete the contents of the folder called "Temp".

If you don't see the local settings, enable hidden files:
Tools > Folder Options > view tab
Select Show Hidden Files & folder, and then click OK

Once this file is empty, restart the computer

NOTE: If you have trouble uninstalling applications, or if you have a problem, reinstall iTunes because the installer complains that it can not uninstall the current version of iTunes, see the 'Installation issues' section below.

Download & reinstall iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

    Installation problems

There are several tools to deal with problems installing or uninstalling applications.  If you have these problems, the following should help.  Before using one of these tools (including #3), you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

1 Microsoft has a program install and the resolution of the problems of the uninstalling which is supposed to "work better" and be "safer" to use the old Install Cleanup Utility (3 below).

    2. free Revo Uninstaller.  You can also download a trial version of uninstaller Revo's ' Pro', which has a few more aggressive cleaning options, but this should not be necessary.

3 Microsoft Windows Install Cleanup Utility.  Although this tool has been the preferred tool to deal with the problems of Windows Installer, Microsoft removed from Microsoft download servers because it seems sometimes deleted more than he was supposed to (I believe this was linked to Office uninstall).  You can still get Windows Installer Cleanup here--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html utility
