Error message from Windows Explorer "you don't have permissions to update this folded.

Hi all

Long time listener, first time caller.

One of my users has a few problems on his cell phone.  When she tries to open the windows Explorer, it gives the error "you have not permissions to update this file" pop up.  Also when she opens Internet explore, it rises and closes immediately after opening.  This has happened for the last week or two.  Today, it is a problem in outlook - when it opens a document (Word, Excel, etc.) MS from his office or on his computer, it opens fine.  When she opens a MS outlook attachment document, it says the file is corrupted and cannot be opened.  She also has a recurring problem where when she stops or restarts his computer (this doesn't happen when she disconnects or freeze his account) it comes up with what looks like, but is not, a temporary account.  She needs to do whatever it is, provide the network administrator credentials.  I ran several scans s Malwarebyte and AVG scans with no success.  It is a work computer while she has not been to any shady sites.  The only thing that seems to fix it is a system restore to September which works until these problems occur more.  She uses a Samsung ATIV Book 4 - Professional Win7 - x 64-8 G Ram - 700 hard.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated.  If need be, I can save and reload WIN7.

-Josh

I would try the steps detailed here to quickly return to a working state.  This article was written for Windows 8, but most of the steps another version of Windows also apply: quickly repair PC problems

  • "You do not have permissions to access this folder" after copying the files on server 2012R2

Recently, I've copied the 600GO files and folders using Robocopy from 2003 to 2012R2. No problem with the copy, but the properties of the root of the copied files showed a number of size and file incorrect directory to the same directory on Server 2003.

Pursuit of the investigation, it seems that even if I am in a group of security on all files (with full control), I can't navigate some of them. When I select some files, I get a popup saying "you don't have permissions to access this folder." If I click on the "Continue" button, I also have access to the folder.

When I check the permissions applied to the folder, it shows my group listed (with full control in the source files) and now added my user account security and given full control permissions.

Anyone can shed light on what is happening here?

To answer my own question, I just find some information about it and it is linked to the good old UAC.

  • Error: "you don't have permission to access this folder. ' Click on continue having access to this folder continuously ".

Original title: cannot access files on a folder on the drive hard usb after you have turned off sharing on a network.

About a week and a half, I have set up my external hard drive usb to share on my network domestic as well as my brother could access some files on his laptop computer.  I've been playing with the security of some of the files on the hard drive and made sure that he could not access some of them.  I don't remember exactly what I did unfortunately.  After I had changed the security access, I was still able to access all files and my brother could not access it.  He got the files on the hard drive and I turned off my computer.  A few days later, I tried to access the files that I had limited and I was stuck.  When I went back in the drive to recover some files, I received an error "you don't have permission to access this folder.  Click on continue to have access to this folder permanently. "When I click on continue that another dialogue box comes up saying"you refused permission to access this folder.  To access this file you will need to use the Security tab. "I click on the link to Security tab and another dialog box appears asking"to continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties.  Do you want to continue? "I'm obviously the administrator because I have this computer and I'm the only account on it.  From this point, I don't know what I do or what I'm supposed to do to recover my files.  I played a bit with a couple of things and I was able to get into certain folders, but its an extremely long process that I don't have the time for.  A side effect of which in fact so I can see the files, is that for any movie file, I try to access it, I get an error.  When I try to open it with Windows Media Player, I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot access the file.  The file may be in use (which is not the case), you won't have access to the computer where the file is stored (which is not supposed to because the computer on which it is stored my personal computer), or your proxy settings are may not be not correct (what?). "If I try to use another program like VLC media player, I get a similar problem where an error comes up saying that it was impossible to access the file.  I can see the file and see the properties but I am unable to actually see the film.  I can't move the file anywhere because I don't have administrative rights.  I'm under Windows 7 Ultimate, and if someone could help me please, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ridley,

I see that this problem is old enough but you (or others) may have problems with it. Here's what I did:
-Got to your hard drive and right click on the folder that is causing all the trouble.
    -Click on properties.
    -Click on the Security tab
    -Then click on advanced
-You will see a window with a few user names. Now click on owner in the tabs above.
-Click on edit, then select the user name you want to open the folder and don't forget to tick the box that says "Replace the owner of subcontainers and objects", then click on apply.
A pop will come which says something like "You have replaced the property for the selected records" or something in this way. It worked for me and I hope this post is helpful for some people.

  • You don't have permission to access this folder. Can't access iTunes.

Original title: user account access changed without being changed.

    Hello

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Professional. Today, I tried to run iTunes. He said I may not access the folder or it has been locked. Of course my user folder has a big lock next to him. I am the administrator. I have not changed the permissions. Currently, it seems that I have somehow connected with a different account. My library on my C drive folders are empty. This would explain why iTunes does not load. As I said I have not changed any settings. It happened as if by magic...

How my user folder has being blocked or how my user account has changed its permissions, as an administrator, I should have access to my user folder, or I am now another user? Who is now the administrator? -What happened? A lot of questions. I am happy to be able to see the library files on the C drive, I used to be able to the week last in any profile.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

    After reading this post

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en/w7programs/thread/d616e06f-ecdd-4D34-8d7a-a9936a91ad6e

I went my users folder and tried to set the permissions again.

I have 4 users or group names

    System

    [username] ([username] - PC\ [username])

    Individuals ([username] - PC\HomeUsers)

    Administrators ([username] - PC\Administrators)

When I wnet in the advanced on ther Security tab my 'home ([username] - PC\HomeUsers) users' group had special permits. I selected it and then click on change permissions. Another very similar screen came. I have selected the Group of users of home again and press Edit I selected a full control. All the checkboxes selected themselves. I hit OK, and then click apply. A box appeared that set permissions. I have several errors telling me that permission could not be set. I kept acknowleding and continues. Once the lock on my users folder disappeared. But iTunes still does not work.

If the lock on my users folder has dissappeared. iTunes still won't work and I think I just make my Connection public network vulnerable to attacks. Great :)

In any case, I really need to download iTunes running.

I open my account users (without lock) and try to access my music folder it tells me

You do not have currenmtly has the permission to access this folder

Click on continue to have access to this folder permainently

I click on continue. A padlock appears next to my music folder, but I have access and Itunes now runs.

All good and well, but I noe feel as if I had a bride mish bad permissions which will expose undoutedly me to safety and is still not right.

How do I check the permissions?

I believe that the passage of the group to public networks may have been when the problem started. I'm guessing that I'm not alone with this problem.

My video files and images all wanted to set their access permannet permissions and now have a lock next to them

I'm willing to do all this right. Seems not just for now, but then again I can't access my data and run my programs again. How can I check to see if I'm now vulnerable to attacks on public networks?

    Concerning

  • You don't have access rights to this file

    Hello again everyone.

I get an error using the example of application the VDDK (vix-disklib-sample).  I am using the SAN mode for the information on the disks, but I get this error message:

Error: [vixDiskLibSample.cpp:599] d you don't have access rights to this file

I am using the same machine that I used in my previous post: 1730997.  I will repeat them here:

    The command I used:

    LD_LIBRARY_PATH = / usr/lib/vmware-vix-disklib/lib64. / vix-disklib-sample - info.
    initex - /root/.vmware/vix-disklib.conf - libdir/usr/lib/vmware-vix-disklib.
    -mode 'san' - 'moref = vm-13141' vm - ssmoref ' snapshot-13314' \ '.
    -welcomed the vcenter.company.com - user "administrator@company" - password "xxxxxx".
    "[VM-devices] vMA/vMA - 000001.vmdk'."

I checked using MoB that those are references to managed object appropriate for the virtual machine and the snapshot (see my previous post).

This is the machine I use it on:

    Processor: 2 x Xeon of Intel (r) CPU 5150 @ 2 .66GHz
    Memory: 3924MB (3331 MB used)
    Operating system: Ubuntu LTS 10.04.2

    Kernel: Linux 2.6.38.2 - candela (x86_64)
    Compiled: #1 SMP kills Mar 29 16:52:38 CDT 2011
C Library: Library GNU C version 2.11.1 (stable)
    Default C compiler: compiler GNU C version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3 - 4ubuntu5)

    Version VDDK: VMware-vix-disklib - 1.2.1 - 323406.x86_64.tar.gz

Think otherwise says may be something to do with the SAN mode, I ran vmware-mount to check that I could actually mount the drive in question.  I managed to mount the drive with the following command:

    LD_LIBRARY_PATH = / usr/lib/vmware-vix-disklib/lib64 vmware-mount.
    v 'KS-PROD-data center/vm/vMA' h vcenter.company.com u 'administrator@company '.
    F /root/.password f ' [VM-devices] vMA/vMA - 000001.vmdk "/ mnt/test /.

Anyone has any ideas of what this could be?  The error is a little vague...

I've also attached the log output

One thing you should be aware of: you will not be able to access a drive that is currently in use by the virtual machine.  If you have created a snapshot on a virtual computer running, you'll be able to get access to the base vmdk, but not for the instant vmdk.  This is because the instant vmdk - is in use, but the base is not the disc.

  • Could not open a file to VMDK using SAN transport using Netbackup 7.1 "you don't have access rights to this file.

    Hello

I'm trying to backup VMware clients using Netbackup for VMWare 7.1 using the type of transfer to san, and the forum NBU told me that my vm-admin user has no right of access to the VMDK file. However, I checked and I can download the backup host VMDK files and take and remove snapshots as vm-admin user.

The servers are configured as follows:

    vc01 is a Win2008R2 vSphere 5.1 Server

ENC1-bl09 by enc1-bl12 are blades running ESXi 5.1

VM-bak01 is a Win2008R2 NBU media server 7.1 server and is defined in NBU as backup VMWare host

Data warehouses that contain the VMDK files for the guests are all about EMC and HDS storage accessible via the San by the NBU Media Server and ESXi servers (although mapped through different areas)

ESXi servers have access to local data and NFS storage warehouses too, but none of these warehouses are used by clients.

I could save a few guests we via NDB, but they finish in time because the network is not fast enough. Estimated time of 8 days for nightly backup!

So I have to use a SAN to back up the guests, but he keeps fails with the error below...

  • Error messages from Windows Live Movie Maker Movie

I am trying to create a movie using the new installed Windows Live movie maker and I'm able to import fine film scenes. However, when I try to change them at times, he's very well but then on other times it displays an error message saying that Windows cannot save movie file because the movie you may be corrupted or it film ake cannot determine Ann that the file was created. It displays an error message like a triangle with an exclamation point. It will do this at random whenever I start my project and sometimes it's the same movie and other times it's a different movie. When she did this, I simply save the file and close it movie maker, then re-open the Director and then reopen the file. I record movies from a camera, sharper Image with the .avi file extension which is a supported file type, so I don't know what is the cause. Maybe I need to rename the files as the Director does not recognize it by a unique name? If anyone has answers on this it would be greatly appreciated because I really want to complete this film I have all the scenes in it of just a matter of change them.

  • error messages from Windows vista backup company

I just got a laptop with Vista Business replacement and no system disk.  I downloaded and installed all of the 200 + windows vista updates including Service pack 2.  Now I'm doing a system recovery on DVD disks before starting the arduous task of reinstalling all my programs and data files, but I keep receiving the error message 0 x 80780119 not enough disk space to create the volume shadow copy on the storage location... and storage 0x8004231F insufficient to create either storage copy shadow file or other shadow copy data.

Following the advice I found on another forum of Vista, I resized memory Ghost by using this command, vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage / For = C: / On = C: / MaxSize = 30 GB, who apparently has apparently solved this problem for others, but does not work for me.

I try next? Be explicit because I'm not very familiar with this flavor of operating system Windows.
