  Your article made a walkthrough basic troubleshooting, ending with the question if the print head is repairable. Because it is not on the 6700, the article isn't really the problem.
  
  Here is the solution I found to this problem:
  I discovered that eliminating all ink cartridges allows the printer at startup (although there is a message saying the missing print cartridges).
  Putting the cartridges in a binary regression revealed that the ink has been bad. (In my case, I only got the message of failure/printer ink when the yellow cartridge was in the printer).
  Replacement of the restored cartridge the printer functionality.
  That's the good news.
  Now the bad news: for HP.
  The generic error message indicates a failure with the printer or the ink system. No differentiation. With the electronics in the cartridges (that the client pays a high price for), looks that HP could not understand how to indicate a cartridge problem. How is this useful printer in an office environment, where most print tends to be B & W?

  (I would add; the solution in the message of failure/printer ink cartridge cannot fix your problem if, in fact, there are a few default printer. But if the problem is in the ink system, then the troubleshooting cartridge can help you).

  After upgrading to windows 7 Home premium 64 bit vista family premium 64-bit, I expected to be able to connect my EPSON Stylus D68 printer on my laptop and leave immediately.   No problem, margen!

  I would recommend using the Deskjet 9800 driver with this printer because it also uses the PCL3 GUI language.  This print driver allows custom paper size so that you can manually configure this size management.

  To swap to another driver, please follow the steps in the thread found here.  However, instead of the driver 990c or 450 please use the Deskjet 9800 driver.  You may need to click the Windows Update button at the bottom of the printer driver selection screen to pre-populate the list thus providing this HP Deskjet 9800 driver as a selection.

  1. go in the Add/Remove Programs list and see if market research is listed in the list of installed applications. If so, uninstall it and see if that solves your printing problem.

  2. in case the suggestion above does not work, Uninstall the drivers currently installed for your printer and reinstall. See if it works.
