Error of execution prevention data leaving IE
When I leave IE, I get a Data Execution Prevention error message.
In addition, Hotmail I cannot open links from a message.
Can't help with Hotmail questions here!
Messages of Data Execution Prevention (DEP) mean that Windows feels threatened by a running program on your computer, then he stops. It is actually a good thing because Windows detects the threat and trying to prevent further damage.
DEP errors seem to generally be reported either from Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer. A DEP error is usually not actually be caused by Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer itself - it's going to be caused by something that has been added to them via a third-party program or download.
If the error DEP does not tell you the name of the application, you should report only and you get some sort of error message Data Execution Prevention and not only say. If you have more details, give them so there is no guessing what you see.
Of course XP should never feel threatened by Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer - which makes no sense. XP is probably feeling threatened by some add on to either.
You could say that the program is very well by making an exception for the Windows program, but is generally not a good idea. You can also disable DEP protection, but it is also not a good idea - DEP is there for a purpose.
Making an exception for a program or turn off DEP may fix the symptom of the problem, but it will not "solve" the underlying problem and have leave your computer vulnerable to attacks by choosing to ignore the threat. These kinds of proposals are in the sense of ideas "I really have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it.
There is a big difference in the symptom of the problem of fixing and really fix the problem.
If the DEP error is caused by Internet Explorer, the error or the threat usually comes from some add-on third-party IE that has been added to IE by a browser extension third or some other add-on with your consent or without your consent.
Unfortunately, we don't know anything about your system.
If your version unspecified IE on your vesrion unspecified XP with your specified Service Pack blocks every time or fairly regularly when coming out which is good as you can get there when you want.
In this case, see behaves how IE when you run IE with no. add ons. If IE behaves, we focus on add on the afflicted and fix or get rid of it.
Here's how to start:
Click the Start button, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Run that enough times to convince you that IE works fine with no. add ons (or maybe that's not) then you can work on closing add the afflicted.

Error prevention of execution of data while trying to play star trek online Facebook
I received a Data Execution Prevention error when trying to load a Facebook game called "Star Trek Online" via a company called Perfect World. Have you had problems with them before? Is a data execution error a serious threat? This company via facebook was trying to infiltrate there PC or give a virus? Thank you for your answers and the time.
Hello Joseph,.
I would suggest following the instruction in this article on the change Data Execution Prevention settings:There is also a FAQ on this subject: -
Original title: data execution prevention-window Explorer error
Data execution prevention launches when I try to access the windows Explorer, and more particularly when I try to watch videos. So I tried to turn off DEP for windows Explorer. Now, I can access my videos, but they all have text on them that says video PHOTO, & www.jpg.com. I have not downloaded new software recently, so I don't know where it comes from. I ran my antivirus sofware and malwarebytes, and my system is to come clean. How can I remove this from my videos? Thank you!
This isn't how to diagnose and repair the DEP errors - especially not Windows Explorer DEP errors.
But 6 days of inactivity and a link to an article of a MSE = automatic response.

My operating system is Windows Vista. I used Movie Maker to make of my recordings of camcorder home movies, but when I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker, the program closed its doors with an error message - Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has apparently stopped the program for preventing possible dangers for my computer, maybe because he was "bad memory usage". I tried to turn off DEP for this program, but it won't let me. How to work around this problem?
NB I have not used the DVD maker for about 20 months, but it worked fine then!

Can not open google chrome more. It's really annoying. Can you help me?
Please specify your Windows version by clicking on modify under your original message and then change the drop-down lists to indicate the correct version of Windows.
That means message that programs are trying to write to areas of the process address space that thinks Windows should not be written. There is a protection that helps prevent malicious code to modify areas of memory that must be read-only and then execution of these regions to do something dangerous.
Is the error message has an option 'change settings '? If so, click it, that a dialogue should open the program and you should be able to put a checkbox next to it.
Otherwise, right click on computer and select properties or press Windows key + R and in the open field, type
sysdm.cpl
and then press ENTER. Select the Advanced tab, and then in the 'Performance' section, click settings. Select the tab 'Data Execution Prevention'. What do you see in this tab?

Windows Update gets closed by Windows Data Execution Prevention
Running Windows XP Pro with SP3. Windows Update is set to warn me of updates.
For the last two days, whenever I turn on, a popup appears saying
-Microsoft Windows data execution prevention. To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Name: Windows Update. Publisher: Microsoft Corporation.
It gives me a "close this window" button, but if I click on it it just reappears. The offending executable seems to be wuauctl.exe.
I checked and the only wuauctl.exe on my system is where it should be, in \Windows\System32\, although there are also a large number of \Windows\pchealth\ErrorRep\UserDumps entries all from when I first encountered the problem.
What has gone wrong and what I would do to this topic?
ger1atric,
I suggest that you make sure you have Latest Windows Update Agent. If you do and are still getting the error, then try the steps listed below. If your computer is set to apply DEP to all programs and services, the DEP error message will have a change settings button. If an update of the program is not available, follow these steps to add an exception for the program of the DEP error message:
- When you receive the error message, click change settings.
- Click to select the check box next to the program, and then click apply.
- When you are prompted to restart your computer, double click on OK and restart your system.
You can also add an exception for the program by using System Properties in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
- Click the Advanced tab, click performance, and then click settings.
- In the Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
- In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the program.
- Click Open, click apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK.

the closed Itunes data execution prevention
Quad core Dell Vostro 400 Windows XP pro started having problems soon as the update on I tunes about two weeks ago. Also noticed flashing lights and error 0x887df78e on my HP Office Jet 7310 code at the same time. I went through all the trouble, no shot for the printer with no resolution. I just push the button so that it can go again, but it doesn't last. I removed Itunes and its components, Quick time and reinstalled. Still getting error DEP and I tunes stops down, even if I change the settings to allow Itunes to the DEP.
Hi Boneman,
· Have what troubleshooting measures you tried for the printer problem?
Follow these methods.
Method 1: Perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.
After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
(a) click Start, run.
(b) type msconfigand click OK.
(c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
(d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
(e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.
Method 2: Follow the steps in the article.
