Displays the following error:
A fatal error has occurred. The program will end. Code: 0x7E
Also at the opening of the power saver option in the control
Panel to get the message: could not open energy like u
am not prepared the administrative rights to open it.
Check it please this subject http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=9573&messageID=33773#33773
By the subject, that's the problem. Unfortunately, my computer which is Toshiba M115-S3094 has just recently a fatal error with the Toshiba Power Saver program like 3 days ago. The Toshiba Power Saver not only does not want to work, but it is even more present in the taskbar. First, I went to the properties to be able to restore the program, but nothing helped.
Then I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the program, and he always gave me the same problem with the error: the program ends. Error fatal 0x51A. Right now, my laptop does not on the mode of power supply Toshiba but on common Windows system, such as the presentation or the laptop.
So I need help to restore the Toshiba Power Saver. I run Toshiba M115-S3094 with Windows Media Center Edition.
Satellite M115 seems to be a Toshiba laptop because of the 5 at the end of the number.
In this case, you must use the Toshiba on the Toshiba site energy saving us. Did you?
Maybe you used the right utility electricity saver, so possibly that some registry or system files keys are damage in this case install the new OS for the Toshiba Recovery CD would be desirable.
When I boot windows 7 I always get error msg "TOSHIBA power saver service was stopped while impossible to change settings.
This has happened after that I created a new supply mode in windows 7 Power Panel. It seems that toshiba power don't like it but I do not see where to change the power of toshiba
I get to the power of windows by clicking on the battery in the system tray.
I don't see any utility toshiba for power management
Can you please tell us what laptop you have exactly?
The tool that Toshiba Power Saver is only for Windows XP. If you need to remove this tool because on Vista and Windows 7, you can configure all the power settings in Windows power management:
In addition it s recommended installation Package of added value. For example, you can control additional things like CPU cooling performance.
Recently, I have a big problem, my Toshiba power saver.
It triggers a fatal error OX50 and I tried reinstalling several times and it doesn't work.
Please how can help me solve this problem?
Fatal error with Power Saver hmm I read a few threads on similar problems and it does seem that the completely OS restore Toshiba recovery CD could help settle the energy saver
But may I ask if you install all the drivers in the correct order?
Usually the installation instructions are always placed on the page of the Toshiba driver and it s necessary to follow this guideline.
When I bought my L300 - 17l all the drivers of Toshiba drivers download pafe worked out well.
Recently, I have reinstalled my OS XP and now I started to install all the drivers again. LAN has been authorized, WLAN was ok, the display driver has been authorized.
But when I get to install Toshiba Power Saver (URL: [http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/pwrsav-en-20080519172104.zip]) it gives me this error (it shows the error or after I cliquerai on finish the instalation or before installation began, as you can see in this screenshot)-[http://www.picvalley.net/v.php?p=u/2381/9078672171740560287.JPG]
I later tried this - i go ot Control Panel and open Toshiba Power Saver, but then it gives me another error: "CANNOT be opened because you do not have access rights to use 'TOSHIBA Power Saver'.
I reinstalled my XP again and it still gives me this error... I wonder what could be the problem... Please help me
Satellite L300 - 17L belongs to the PSLBCE series.
I chose this model number and found exactly the same energy saving that you tried to install.
So I guess that you have chosen the right Power Saver utility for this model of laptop.
But did you also install the common Module?
This software must be installed first before installing other tools.
Update you the Win XP for the State?
I recently received this new notebook Tecra M10 (model PTMB0A - 00M 001) replace my laptop to existing business. It came loaded with Windows XP and built by the standard portable computer generation.
It works fine except that at startup I get the error message "a fatal error has occurred. The program will end. "Code: 0x0.
I did some research and I think that the original version may have been compromised, because there aren't has no files in the directory C:\Program Toshiba Saver except for a TPSTrace.log that has this message inside: "a fatal error has occurred. The program will end. "Code: 0x0 rental: TPwrSave.cpp (140). The Power Saver software claims to be v7.11.00.
I downloaded the latest version 7.11.10 (for XP) and when you try to install, the software asks you if it can uninstall the existing version and as it tries, the fatal error code: 0 x 0 occurs which always uninstall, and I suppose that reinstall it. It seems a pity to restore from CD lose all data and other software that is very good because of this software pooey to save energy. Given the original installation was probably standard, there is no guarantee that even if I do a system restore on CD the same problem not re - manifests.
Is there a way I can do XP think software is deleted (it seems to be absent physically, but XP think it is present) by forcing an uninstall. I can then try to reinstall it to see if I can do better than what it was when it was delivered to me. Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to just work without it, for the trouble it causes.
Thanks in advance.
You must delete it from the registry.
Try CCleaner first, it may be able to remove the bad registry for you keys. (google for "CCleaner")
Otherwise, run Regedit, and then search for "to sleep". Make sure that you delete, in order to ensure the results refer to Toshiba Power Saver.
PS. back up the registry first. You can do this by creating a Restore Point in Windows. (Panel of-> system)
When I turn the Qosmio G20, I have a message "Toshiba Power Saver, fatal error has occurred, this program will end. Code 0 x 2»
I click on the 'ok' button and can use the computer, but after using for a while (about 1 hour for example), it becomes very slow. I check the Task Manager and find that "ccSvcHst.exe" takes up 99-100% of CPU usage. I have to turn power off, then again to use another 1 or 2 hours before slowing down again.
Have you tried to delete Toshiba saving energy of the system and see if the laptop will slow down again?
Have you tried to reinstall Toshiba power saver?
When the computer starts it is meassage (toshiba power save) a fatal error has accurred this program will be terminted code 0 x 0
What is the proplem please?
It will be very interesting to know what type of laptop do you and which version of Power Saver is running on the device.
OS:-Windows7 Ultimate (32 bit)
On start up to get a service stopped notification - "service TOSHIBA Power Saver was arrested, so cannot be changed".
That is the only other cause the change of Windows 7 known behavior where the Eco Power Saver button is no longer works but the Control Panel/Power Options standard I can select and edit power plans as usual. So it is just an annoying pop up on start up.
Tips to prevent the annoying notification welcome.
Have you tried to reinstall Toshiba Value added Package? It contains current saver where you get this error message. You can download it here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
I also recommend reinstall the Eco utility.
Good luck! :)
I just bought 5 Tecra M9 and I have the same problem with them whenever I start the laptop:
"TOSHIBA Power Saver.
A fatal error has occurred. This program will be terminated code 0x51A'
"TPSMain.exe Application error".
The application failed to initialize properly (0 x 0000043). Click OK to close the application '
If I try to open Toshiba Power Saver utility from the control panel it return me to select power mode Toshiba in the list of management of power supply in Power Options, but there is not any diagram power Toshiba on the list.
Have you tried to reinstall the Toshiba power saver utility?
Please do it!
I had a similar problem of Eve on my laptop satellite.
I finally solved this problem by reinstalling the energy saving and the utility of Modules common Toshiba.
The common modules are required to run other programs from Toshiba as for example energy saving.
Just another clue; especially this program error appears because of a corrupted registry.
You can use the freeware like CCleaner to clean the registry entries.
Toshiba power saver recently stopped working - I deleted and it redownloaded this site, now whenever I try to start the installation, I get a message "Cannot be the computer id" and stops the installation.
For the first time post here so if I'm on the wrong forum or you need nothing else apologies in advance.
where you´ve have downloaded the powersaver? Maybe you downloaded a bad for your machine. It s absolutely important to download EXACTLY this software that fits your type of machine.
When you download stuff on toshiba Web sites you will have to keep an eye on the version on your machine (for example the Satellite A100 - 552-> download software of type '552' of the Satellite A100 series).
Sometimes, this solves a lot of mistakes and clarify some not very nice situations.
Please, more details on your problem. :)
I need help, such as every time that I am pressing energy saver Toshiba told me that I have to open windows power options and use the Toshiba power saver, but I can find it there in the diagrams. I have chenged the parameters once accidentally a normal windows and settings for the Toshiba power saver no longer works.
I tried to re - install (download formtoshiba site), but now I get an error when starting...
Please help because I lack the characteristics
You must go to the window power options and change the POWER SCHEMES drop-down back to ECONOMY of ENERGY TOSHIBA. Except if it is positioned like this energy saving windows will always be the default.
I have a protégé R500 PPR50E which had Vista on it, but now has XP on it.
I installed all drivers etc for the laptop and everything works fine except that I can't get the toshiba power manager to install.
Whenever it installs programs it shows as 0.00 mb and installation when you click to open the control panel in the Add box, or move the section it says "a fatal error has occurred. This program will be terminated - code 0 x 0 - and then if I try to uninstall it to try a reinstall it says: "1628 - could not complete the installation.
Any ideas anyone?
I downloaded the correct driver of course - I tried a redownload and it made no difference.
Also - I may pluching at straws but in the Bios before I made the construction - I turn the controller as opposed to ACHI ACHI compability mode - don't know if it could have an impact on it? -If I turn that on XP blue screens because I never installed the driver in the windows install (f6 prompt)
I believe that you are unable to install the Toshiba power saver.
We should focus on this error message:
* 1628 - cannot complete installation *.
Usually, this message may appear when installing any software that uses the InstallShield Setup program. According to InstallShield, this is a general error message indicating that the application has not been installed successfully.
Solution check this:
TOSHIBA Power Saver for W - XP cannot be installed.
Installation error messages: fatal error, abandoned facility. 0x2
Try to remove the part which is installed (visible in Add/Remove Programs), gives the same error message 0 x 2.
Under programs > Toshiba only the help file 'Power Saver Help' is visible, but is not accessible.
Can someone help me?

When I turn on with power supply connected, I get a false error message that says 'Toshiba Power Saver already begun'.
How can I get rid of this message permanently?
I guess that the Toshiba power saver trying to load twice.
Akuma s suggestion should work.
Once the energy saver has been uninstalled, all entries that control energy saver should be removed too.
After this, reinstall the new energy saver
The alternative might be disables a power saver in msconfig.
To ensure that the access the msconfig (in RUN type msconfig) and remove the mark of an energy intake that you might find in the Startup tab.
Then restart the laptop and check if it worked
