Error: The application-specific permission settings grant Local Activation permission for the COM server application in the Windows XP computer.

Original title: DCOM {E9F9ED00-7705-101B-9802-0000C07B665C}.

I have this message DCOM in the registry: "the application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM with CLSID {E9F9ED00-7705-101B-9802-0000C07B665C} server application the user... xxxx...". (I deliberately placed the "xxxx" instead of my current PC for security reasons). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool." I tried to look through the forum here, and I found elements that were close and others are not. so if anyone knows where I can go make the adjustments, it could save our society approximately $10K, because my new bosses are ready to install all new hardware and software, but if we could find a much simpler approach to this problem, this would make the new kid on the block like a champ look.
We have a Window XP, the flat touch screen PC, running a few packages of software reviews that keep a record of our SCADA system trend.

At random times around the clock, the PC will just restart and return to the logon screen. There is no other necessary users, so we have only the journal administrator form. As soon as we open the administrator it is specially configured to run a specific program of our choice, but if the PC keeps restarting whenever it feels like it, there is no history chart tend to save. It is essential, that we need.

  • Download error - cannot download anything on the windows vista computer.

When I try to download anything, it says that Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\Admin\Downloads\shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe '. Then he said, make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. I hope you can help me.

    Original title: download error

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

It seems that you have problems with downloading files on the windows vista computer.

The description of the problem seems a little unclear and I wish I had a better understanding before you start working on it. I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    1. what browser you use on the computer?

    2. What is the exact full error message?

    3. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

    4. deal with this problem if you try to download all files from online?

If you do this in the face of Internet Explorer help, I suggest that you should change the default download location and check if it helps.

    Method 1

In internet explorer, you can change the default location.

    Here's how:

    a. open internet explorer.

    b. click on Tools , then select view downloads.

    c. downloads for window, click Options.

    d. now, enter the default download location and click on the OK button.

Turn on the computer at the beginning of boot and check if the problem persists.

    Method 2

Perform a clean boot to see if no third-party service is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: follow step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

  • Error message - browseui.dll file is not a valid Windows image in the Windows XP computer.

Original title: how to fix browseui.dll without original windows disc?

    Hello

    Well, kids, here's the deal.

I myself locked out of my computer and installed PC login now erase my passwords. It has worked flawlessly, and I now have my computer back after months and months.

There was only a single small strangeness: whenever I connected my computer, he asked me to check my drive. Looking forward to get my computer and running and customized how I like it, I bypassed it the first few times. Then, when I had a few minutes, I thought I had better let the disk check, so I left it.

NOW, when I turn on my computer, I get an error message that my browseui.dll file is not a valid windows image and my windows Explorer does not work. So I've been doing on the web looking for a solution via the Task Manager, which is a pain. Someone suggested to use the scannow in the command prompt command line, so I tried, but it requires my disk of windows XP which I think can be in a different State with my mother.  So I simply bypassed it whenever he had the drive and VOILA! all peachy.

Until, that is, I turn on my computer again. We're back in the same place.  Well, this analysis running and without going through the disc each time took me about an hour, and I can't do that whenever I need to use my computer.

I tried the system restore, no change. I tried from the command prompt and choose a date AND choose "last good configuration" in the menu f12 or f8.  Without peanut.

    We are this:

    1. is there a way to correct this file without the disc?

    2. can I get another copy of the disk without having to buy it?

    3. Although I'm not PARTICULALRY, would be the Windows 7 upgrade solves the problem? (But I really like my XP...)

If the c:\windows\system32\browseui.dll file is damaged or missing, Explorer.exe does not start and you may see a message like this:

If the c:\windows\system32\browseui.dll file is corrupted, Explorer.exe does not start and you will see a message like this:

    Explorer.exe - bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\BROWSEUI.dll is not a valid Windows image.  Please check this against your installation diskette.

You can click OK and get to an empty office with only your display background image but still be able to maneuver with the Task Manager.

If missing the c:\windows\system32\browseui.dll file, Explorer.exe does not start and you will see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because BROWSEUI.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

You can click OK and get to an empty office with only your display background image but still be able to maneuver with the Task Manager.

Since we know that XP keeps copies of critical system files in the dllcache folder, you can use the Task Manager to replace the file missing or distressed.

From the Task Manager, click file, new task (run...) and then click Browse and navigate to the c:\windows\system32\dllcache folder.  Make sure the "Files of type" box is set to show all files (or you will not see any), and then click OK to display all files.

Locate the copy of the browseui.dll file backup in the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache, made right click and copy and go back up a folder c:\windows\system32, right-click in an empty area and paste the file there.  Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

You can then start the Explorer in Task Manager by clicking file, new task (run...) and in the "Open:", enter:

    Explorer.exe

Click OK to launch the Explorer and your office must return.

Or after replacing the file missing or suspicious, just restart the system task manager by clicking on stop and choosing restart and then Explorer will start to him only when the system is restarted.

If your computer to check your drive at every reboot, which means the "dirty bit" on the volume was probably settled and the only way to clear the dirty bit must run a chkdsk/r (which XP trying to do).   The dirty bit can be defined on a volume if there is a power interruption e.g. (plug pulling, using the power button / stop, etc.).

Sometimes, XP can't erase the bit of impurity in this way and it is preferable to run chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console so you can actually see what he does and run it again if necessary.

If you do not have any bootable media XP start in the XP Recovery Console, you can create a bootable XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console CD and do all your work from there.

You can even replace the file browseui.dll from SP Recovery Console if it is your desire.

Need instructions to create a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console?  No Microsoft Support Engineer seems to know how to do this, but I do and will instruct you in the next reply.

  • Printer does not work on the Windows XP computer, get the error message like "an error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported.

Original title: 1. printer stopped communicating with the computer. 2 port - associated configuration error?

I have a big problem. All of a sudden my printer - AIO Photo964 said he cannot communicate with my computer. The printer works fine. I tried switching cables USB, all the trouble shooting suggestions, etc. etc. Nothing works and it makes no sense. I can't print anything. I thought it would be that I installed a Seagate external hard drive backup, then I uninstalled the program - no help. ITunes installed recently, because she had changed the printer default, changed back - no help. The USB cable is not tight in the printer (or both cables, I tried), but AFAIK it's not new (?) And when I try to configure the port, I get the error message "an error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported"I have no idea what it means.  Can someone help me with this? I have to return a new printer? The USB port on the printer is repairable if this is the problem? How will I know? Who would do that?

    Thanks, I'd appreciate any help.

It is always useful to have the complete error message without paraphrase.

It also helps to identify the version of Windows you have, including service pack.

And it helps to give the manufacturer of the printer in addition to the model.  In your case, I guess you have a Dell printer.  I know that some Dell printers are rebadged Lexmarks, but I don't know if it's a.

Why you try to configure the USB port?  It cannot be configured - you've discovered.  It's normal.

It's quite strange that an iTunes installation would have had something to do with the printers.  What printer was made by default after installing iTunes?

You say you have tried another USB cable.  Have you tried using a different USB port on the computer? Have you checked in the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) to see if there is all the warning icons in the category "controllers of Bus USB?

I suggest you uninstall the printer software and driver completely and reinstall by following the directions in Its first Article.

Don't skip step 4.  After step 4 and step 5, follow these steps:

Important: If you have a Lexmark printer, skip the following

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line

    net stop spooler
dependent on the spooler of sc config = RPCSS
    net start spooler
    output

Note that there is no space before the = and there is a space after it.

The Windows XP driver for the Dell Photo AIO 964 printer is here--> http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats/Product/dell-964?DriverId=R113115&FileId=2731111743&urlProductCode=False

  • BCCode error on blue screen 1 has in the Windows XP computer.

Original title: BSOD on XP Pro.

I recently started having BSOD on a computer running XP Pro, which had no material or changes in drivers or updates for some time.

After re-booting, I get the following:

    BCCode 1A BCP1: 00000780 BCP2: C06D 4250 BCP3: CA 81 9898 BCP4: 000004CD OSver:5_1_2600 SP3_0 product 256_1

Online it suggests incompatible drivers but the only change has recently been anti-virus and the problem predates this.

Sometimes it happens on startup and the other time when in different programs or even idle.

The computer is a Dell Vostro, who is just two years old.

Yes - is not too much sense.

You can see you are running SP3 from the information you have provided and it makes even less sense as the hotfixes in this section of the Microsoft Support Engineer are already included with SP3.  But, this is a link to an article.

If/when it crashes again to follow this procedure in order to watch your own crash dump files for clues or download them to your SkyDrive so someone can help you to look at.  It's just a copy/paste that I send to anyone who needs help with a BSOD.

If you have a few dumps already accumulated on your system before the new video card, they must remain on your system if you want to watch.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

What is your Internet browser and version?

Your system's disks IDE or SATA drives?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Do you see that you think not you should see and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Your system seems to start OK and then crash or didn't he start not at all?
Can you make the system crash when you want?  For example, you would say that there is no specific system activity that coincides with the accidents (like watching videos, playing games, etc.).

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.
Now provide more information about your system and data against more recent accidents.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
    Msinfo32
Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
    Download BlueScreenView here:
Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
BlueScreenView tries to find the right driver or module that caused the blue screen by looking inside the stack of the accident. However, be aware that the driver detection mechanism is not 100% reliable, and you should also look in the lower pane, that display all drivers/modules found in the stack.

Sometimes BlueScreenView will involve XP files as being the cause of the accident (ntoskrl.exe, win32k.sys, hal.dll etc.) but they are probably not the real cause of the accident (BSV is doing the best he can).

You will need to either pick up some example crashes over and look through them, or find somewhere the XP files are not the 'cause' or you can upload your files to your SkyDrive crash dump and someone with the windows debugging tools can help take a look at them more closely.

Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt with a text editor Notepad, WordPad, etc.), select all (Ctrl-A), copy all the text in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl-C) and paste the text to the Clipboard (Ctrl-V) back here in your next reply.

Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:

Send information BleuScreenView of 5 last memory dumps (if you have 5 dumps memory yet, send the most recent, you).
While you wait, please follow these steps:
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.

It is sometimes easier just to download the memory dump files since your last breaks down on your SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).   So can someone who already has Windows debugging tools to look at things and understand what is happening.

Dump memory of recent crashes and BSOD files are usually in this folder:

    c:\windows\minidump

The files will be named something like this:

    Mini120311 - 01.dmp

You need to download the latest... maybe 5-10 of the most recent crash dump files should be sufficient if you who have a lot.  If you do not have that much, send what you have.

    Getting started with SkyDrive:
    http://explore.live.com/SkyDrive-get-started

Once you get your downloaded files and watch them on your SkyDrive, you need to 'share' your folders/files so that others can see them.

Here is a link that tells you how to:
    http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-SkyDrive-change-access-permissions-FAQ

Then click on the button "insert a link".  When you click on that, a window opens that contains the link to your SkyDrive files.

Copy the contents of the box "copy this link to share:" in selecting the content of the link (it will be all highlighted), press Ctrl + C (copy) and then come back to the forum and in your next message, press Ctrl + V to paste the contents of the link back here.

What you paste the return will look something like this link on my SkyDrive:
