Error while installing Windows 7 on Dm4-3170se?

I just bought a refurbished DM4-3170se. He got in shape without the operating system. When I try to install the Windows 7 it keeps defaulting to the configuration step.

I have even converted the disk cache raid drive.

I tried to load the Raid drivers available from intel.

Two things have failed. If I order the recovery disks it will work? or do I did something else?

Hello Dealer101.  I understand that you encounter some difficulties in installing Windows 7.

You try to install Windows 7 on a commercial installation disc?

What happens when you try to load the RAID driver?  What is the error message that you receive?  Here is a link for the driver in case.

If you use a normal commercial disc to install Windows 7 I do not pretend to order a set of recovery media.  This should make the process much more as a recovery will install not only the operating system, but the drivers of devices as well.  This should save time that you will not have to scour the internet looking for drivers.  If you are in the United States / Canada you can contact the HP Support to the 1-800-474-6836 for information on the recovery media.  If you are in another part of the world, you visit HP's Support around the world to find the coordinates for your region.

I'll keep an eye out for your answer.  I wish you a nice day!

  • Error 80080008 while installing Windows updates.

    Original title: suziwhy

I tried to upgrade to 8.1 windows, but he refused in the end.

Now, I get a 80080008 error whenever I try to install the updates.

    Can anyone help? Please

    Hi Suziwhy,

1 are you this error during upgrade to Windows 8.1 or during the installation of Windows updates?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

If you get this error when installing Windows updates, then it normally occurs because the file Wups2.dll included in the latest version of Windows Update is incorrectly installed or became non registered.

I suggest you to re - register the Wups2.dll file and check if this solves the problem.

Follow the steps to re - register the file by using the command prompt:

    a. press the Windows key + X , and then select (admin) command prompt.

    b. run the following commands and press ENTER after each one:

    net stop wuauserv

    regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll

    c. now, you will receive a verification message that the DLL is registered. Click OK.

    d. start the automatic updates service. To do this, type the following command at the prompt (admin) command and press ENTER:

    net start wuauserv

    e. type Exit.

    Mary,

This problem is sometimes associated with damaged files or registry keys, to solve the problem, you need to search for files that are damaged, perform a upgrade on the spot and then reinstall Windows 7 SP1. Here are the steps:

    Step 1: Run Chkdsk.exe

Click Start , and then click computer

Right-click on the system (usually C:\) drive, and then click Properties

Click on the Tools tab, then click on check now under error checking

Use the default settings, and then click Start

Click on schedule the disk check

Restart the computer and the drive will be checked to find errors

    Or

Run Chkdsk in command prompt with administrative rights.

CHKDSK x: /F /R  (this command will perform a complete analysis (including bad sectors) and an attempt to remedy)

Step 2: Perform a upgrade on the spot:

  • Error message 0 X 80070070 while installing Windows 7.

I bought Windows 7 Professional disc directly from Microsoft and it will not be installed. I get the error message 0 X 80070070. I'm trying to upgrade a non-genuine Windows Vista Business installation. I tried both pure and upgrade install and receive the same error message in both directions. I would prefer to do a clean install.

Make sure that the drive you install Windows to has enough free space. Do not select the recovery partition small if you have one because it's not big enough.

Run Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known issues that might affect the installation and correct them.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

You will need to start the installation by booting from the installation disc.

If you have several hard drives remove all except the one that you install Windows 7, and then replace it after Windows 7 is installed.

The installation disc could be bad.

    Installation custom own steps

    Time to use:

Switching from XP to 7, or not supported in place upgrade paths (ex: Vista Home Pro 7)

A Windows system to 32 bit on a 64 bit system, or change the language

Don't want to make a room upgrade, or if you want a fresh install / clean

You can use a Full Windows 7 or upgrade disk to do a custom clean install. This will remove all of your programs, but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so. You will need to reinstall all your programs after installing Windows 7. Here are the steps:

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you can install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

    2. backup all your files and settings to avoid losing documents, photos and other information. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool to copy files (not programs) from your PC and then transfer back after installation of Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy your files to a Flash DRIVE or CD/DVD. Note: The easy transfer will not work when changing languages, or when moving from 64 bit to 32 bit (it will work ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/Windows-easy-transfer

    3. find the discs installation and license/product associated to all your programs keys, because you have to manually reinstall all programs. If you have downloaded some Internet programs you can redownload them.

    4. place the Windows 7 disc in your DVD player. A window should appear from the installation process, when asked the type of installation do you want click on custom (advanced option). Note: 32 to 64-bit requires restart and boot from the DVD.

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, you can use Windows Easy Transfer (or a different backup method you used) to restore your files & settings and use your installation disks to reinstall all your programs. Then you're done - take advantage of Windows 7.
