When you attempt to change the priority of a process in the Task Manager (no matter what process, I've tried a few) I get the error message: cannot change the priority. The operation could not be performed. Access denied. It is while being logged on as an administrator. Would appreciate a solution.
Since Windows Vista and Windows 7, a logon administrator account always uses a standard or limited account for certain purposes. To access these properties, you can run a program using the "Run as administrator". To run as an administrator, you right-click on a program and select "Run as Administrator" in the right click menu.
Some processes of the system, such as services, you cannot change even as an administrator. Come on in "show processes from the user all the" which will ask for permission. Then reopen the task Administrator Manager and then see if you can change the priority.

- You are not logged as administrator (or equivalent)

I freshly installed OS elementary which is based on Ubuntu.
VMWare Workstation installation worked fine, but after creating my new virtual machine with a Win 10, the same message comes to me:
Cannot change the power state of VM: internal error
I looked a little in the log file, found this dump was set to zero, they changed in etc/security /, but that's all I've managed to find.
Here is my log file
Thanks a lot for your help
PS: I'm leaving a beginner in the Linux world, so explanation would be welcome
Welcome to the VMware community forums.
I don't think that the problem is related to a beginner linux user, it's a problem triggered by a specific hardware configuration.
If you look at your log file again, there is an error just before the vmware process attempts to core dump. The dump is a reaction to the problem.

If you then put the bug number into google, you get:
Which indicates in return you can set a configuration file to specify the actual frequency of your processor.

Identity & Webpass - 10.1.4.2 BP08 Server version
For the LPM error "cannot change the password" check if you set a "minimum age" in the definition of the strategy of password.
"If you set a minimum age of 2 days for example, the user will not be able to change his or her password before 2 days after the initial setting of the password and you will have 'identity/oblilx/logs/oblog.log' shows: ERROR 0 x 00000901 lost_pwd_mgmt.cpp:264 'cannot change password' loginName ^ xxxxx" in oblog.log
--> In our POC password minimum age has been set, and we have forgotten that we have in him... This is why we hade this error on the LPM scenario...
--> After setting the minimum age to 0, the scenario LPM works every time

Last week, I decided to move from a Windows host based Linux system. So I went through my VMs their power off and copied to another drive. I then installed 7 Centos and reinstalled VMWare Workstation 12 re-imported the virtual machine in VMWare and I tried to start.
I received the following message...
"Cannot change the power state of VM: internal error.
Suspicious, I looked at the folder that contains the machine virtual and noticed it contained snapshots. DOH!
I guess it is pretty bad, not sure where to start?
Any help would be appreciated.
I copied VM, with and without clichés, without problems. Have a few running on OSX Fusion so
The first thing I would check would be for folders and .lck files. If so, remove them.
OK, this problem beautifully undescriptive I've seen caused by what seems to be dozens of things happening for me.
I made the mistake of horrible update my FC8 kernel to the latest one (184.108.40.206 - 57.fc8). Mind you, that's all that's changed. It was with a 1.06 server with happiness and perfectly good computers running virtual in use before the upgrade.
After the new kernel and reboot, I had to rebuild vmmod. I had to get a fix of any - any later that I used with my previous kernel (116 does not solve the problem of compiling) so I used all-any117d. Update like a champion.
Try to turn on a VM and Ihanta!, the above error.
Nothing else was changed.
I tried the upgrade to VMware Server 1.08. Used all-new any117d - update OK.
I have re-run the compilation, this time to say 'yes' to what the installation script to "adjust the permissions of all virtual machines in xxxlist" or whatnot.

FWIW, I compile as long as root, but have always run VMware server from my UID nonroot.
I'm in the same boat. Fedora 8 220.127.116.11 - 57.fc8 #1 SMP
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling v1.0.6 thru 1.0.8 with all 116 updates and 117d. 117D compiles with every version of server but when I try to turn on a virtual computer I get this error.
Cannot change the power state of virtual machine: the process has exited with an error:
vmxvmdb: name of the Index generated by the configuration file
POST (no connection): Version mismatch with vmmon module: expected 138.0, obtained 168.0.
You have a bad version of the module kernel "vmmon.
Try reinstalling VMware Server.
POST (no connection): failed to initialize the surveillance apparatus.
Failed to initialize the virtual machine.
End of the error message.
I found several posts other people have this problem but
they are months with no recent activity and nothing that solved the problem. I found appeared

Of course, I would like to know how to solve this problem as well.
I am trying to open a new window in an extension of CS, but when the test inside the first as an Illustrator, it gives me the error
Error #3200: Cannot perform the operation on the window closed.
When I test as a stand-alone desktop application, it works very well.
I tried it with a window pane mxml, as well as with the code, such as:
var newWindow:Window = new Window()
newWindow.title = "new window";
newWindow.width = 200;
newWindow.height = 200;
I use a WindowedApplication.

I'm sorry. I answered from memory. I remembered a little trouble. You did, but you must set the type.
victory: MyCustomWindowType = new MyCustomWindowType;
win.showStatusBar = false;
Win.type = CSXSWindowType.MODAL_DIALOG;
You probably want to create a component based on the window.
In addition, you must use CSXSWindowedApplication. It is possible that it took for this...

Cannot change the desktop background. I have a gateway Media Center GT5014. They said there was a MS pilot specially for this problem but I don't know that it's the official name. Or not my "update software drivers". Ms certainly knows what it is... I've seen some answers in the forum for the starter editions, but nothing for the Home Premium edition. I can't change themes, wallpapers. Thank you. kiki47z
Could you please to:

Click on make the computer easier to see
Scroll down to "remove background images (sicesdonneessontdisponibles) and confirm that it is not checked.
