  I was able to get the link to work yesterday by doing a complete uninstall of the BB and BB Desktop Manager link.  Restart, running a registry cleaner, by restarting again and do a new installation of link BB.  It now seems to work.  I tried a few times and after several reboots it always seems to work.

  No, there is no limit to the number of users, you can have (at least not practical, it could be a literal limit at a point like 255 users or something).

  I would try using the File Checker system to analyze and any difficulty broken/missing system files.  Login as any account that has administrator rights, then do this:

  • In the search box of the start menu, type cmd and press Ctrl-Shift-Enter. The command prompt that opens should be marked as a prompt 'administrator' at the top.  If this shortcut does not work, you can also just find the command prompt and do a right click to 'run as administrator'.
  • At the command prompt, type this command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

  This will start the System File Checker, and it may take a few hours of work, so you can just start before going to bed and let it go.  Don't forget your power settings will not not the computer falling asleep during the scan (it won't hurt her, but you have to start over).

  I should add that my HP laptop has an OEM program which seems to be an overlay on the Windows Help.  It is also not available in the administrator account.

  I have two network cards installed on my laptop.  I wanted to test and see how Windows 7 Ultimate managed the priority of the network adapters so I connected to a small Internet (NIC B) router, and the other on my domain (NIC A).
  First of all, it was a pain to find network adapter priority.  After some research and fun Google I found this.  Unfortunately, the search bar has not helped.

  With "B NIC", defined as the highest priority, I tried to browse the internet.  It was impossible to travel.  Then I disabled 'NIC A' (the NIC domain) and I can browse the internet.  Windows XP he handled this much better.

  Well, it's going to be a long Chronicle, but in the end, the problem has been resolved. Please bear with me:

  Running the program MS Fixit in the past without success, I tried to run the update after you temporarily disable AVG, my program AV. no joy.

  I then ran CC Cleaner to get rid of some of 'dead weight '. I even used its registry cleaning option (which included saves).

  At that point, I did some 'household', & began to defragment my HD with Defraggler. But since it seems to take forever, I went to My Defrag, who finished the job much quicker.

  Although I tried to delete the edb.log file using method 3, I kept getting a message system which was unable to complete this action because the file has been opened in another program.  In the end, I was able to delete the file, but fact directly through Explorer. There also seems to be a sort of small file edb.log, indicating that it was a "recovered" version I deleted that one as well.

  At this point, I ran MS Fixit, who States that the Windows Update components needed to be fixed and proceeded to do so again. Because he had allegedly "fixed" my Updater in the past, I was not holding much hope that this time would be any different. So, after that what he has done, I was pleasantly surprised, I might actually start updating!

  However, the update message that a new version would be dl before I could go any further. So I did it.

  When the new version is started, it ran for about 10 minutes, coming with about 50 updates. According to flush out those who were of no use to me, finally I had dl and installed all relevant updates. And now, the update seems to work fine.

  Once again, my apologies for the long answer. But I wanted to tell the whole story, as I did not quite plan of RajithR.
