Error WindowsUpdate_8020002E on Windows 8

Hello

I'm running out of problems with Windows Update on my machine - a 8 64-bit Windows desktop. I'm unable to install the following updates because they return all with the same error of 802002E:

KB2761465

KB2769166

KB2756872

KB2770917

KB2779768

I did some research and found that this seems to be a fairly common problem. I already tried troubleshooting and the clean boot method. Troubleshooting always finds and "solves" a problem regarding the Windows Components update, it says this every time that I run and does not change the error, so it does not really seem to be fix anything. The clean boot method also does not change anything.

Manual installation of these updates does not seem to work (I was having the same problem with KB2769165 but tried a manual install and it works). However, it seems that this is going to be a problem with every single update to come down the pipeline, is not really a practical solution, as much as I start to install the other Microsoft products such as Visual Studio and increases the number of important updates.

Someone has an idea, what is the real cause of this problem? Or better yet... is there a solution for this beyond a manual installation of each update? My research is that many people have had this problem because of problems with the proxy in Windows 8. Unfortunately, I am not connected to the internet through a proxy, so it doesn't seem like it's the case for me.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated. I tried to get my machine to Windows 8 for almost a week now and HOPE to have a stable installation once I get this sorting.

Thank you!

I solved this problem by performing a clean boot.

You get this error code in the file download process.

    Hello

As suggested in document of Microsoft this problem can occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 graphics card has been installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
The installation of SP2 should help.

This statement of Ms. says it all! It of not a hardware problem but it is a compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the driver radeon ATI 7200.

You should try to get an original CD of Windows XP with or without SP2.
The software callednLiteallows you to create a Windows clean boot CD and add the patches MS and service packs for this CD.

Then, you can try to boot this CD and after installing the OS, you need to update or change the graphics driver!

update of sql server 2005 service pack 3 error code 6D9E Windows update security does not accept the update

    Hey lasdj,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.

To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.

Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.

Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.

See the links below for more details:

    Hi Sarma_RN,

    1. When you receive the error message?

    2. update you are trying to install?

    3. When was the last time you were able to install updates?

If Windows Update, error 80072ee2 during updates, the Windows Update servers may experience an unusually high number of requests for updates. Close Windows Update, wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then run Windows Update again. Alternatively, you can wait for automatic update of Windows run at its next scheduled time.

These errors can occur caused by one of the following problems:

    • Applications or processes that interfere with Internet communications
    • Problems on your computer
    • Strong Internet activity
    • Recoverable database errors

See the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.
