• NI USB box problem when Labview ends abnormally

  Hi all

  recently, I had a problem with the NI USB box used in Labview.

  I wrote a very simple program and it runs in Labview 2011. Basically, it reads data from a NI USB box and also send data back. According to my knowledge (I don't know if it's good or bad), when the Labview is arrested shortly how it is completed, the USB box should also stop working. But the thing is, when the Labview program ends abnormally, let's say I directly terminate from the windows task manager when it is running, all the ports of the box USB will hold their final statements until I restart Labview and write new values to them.

  This could be very dangerous. For example, when I use the USB box to control the power of a power supply, the Labview program crashes (which happens often), the power supply box and USB power will continue to work until I restart the program again. I tried several different types of boxes NI USB on PC and the problem still occurred. So I was wondering if there is no mechanism that prevents such problems or if I can do something programmatically to avoid it.

  Another area where you can have a misconception: LabVIEW is not control USB DAQ device. The LabVIEW program called the DAQ driver program (typically DAQmx or DAQmx Base) and pilots say the OS to send messages via the USB port of the DAQ hardware. So stop the program LV, intentionally or accidentally, does not say the data acquisition driver and the OS USB driver to put the DAQ hardware in a State course.

  This sounds like the O/P is in need of a kind of shared workspace that can be superimposed on an existing map changes without making public changes. The workspace must be shared between multiple users at the same time. Turns in the workspace would be committed and those changes, once accepted (and closed maybe?) must be published in the underlying plan so that everyone can see. If they are not published, they remain in the workspace.

• Fedora 10 x 86: Installer (Anaconda) ends abnormally

  VMware Fusion 2.x, both in the DVD on the i386 netinstall CD i386, with Fedora 10 Installer (Anaconda) ends abnormally.

  No problem, however, with the correspondent x86_64 and with the Live CD.

  The host system is Mac OS X 10.5.6 with 4 GB of RAM (shouldn't matter, in any case); I tried the guest with Red Hat Linux and 2.6 other kernel parameters: no difference. attributed to 512 MB of RAM and 20 GB virtual hard drive; installed directly from ISO images.

  Two screenshots attached: one with the DVD, another (which is just a little further, loading X) with the netinstall CD...

  I had no problem installing Fedora 10 to Fedora-10-i386 - DVD.ISO (md5sum = 12905AB31476CC6D9DFC7C92348C4629) using VMware Fusion 2.0.2 (147997) and set as the nucleus other Linux 2.6. 512 MB of RAM and a hard drive of 20 GB SCSI.  The installation went like a text book install without any problem and I'm at the Office Fedora 10 write this now.  The mouse can even move between host and desktop computers without having to install VMware Tools or by pressing control (and nice).

  So really, I don't think it's a question of Fusion and I would check the md5sum of the ISO that you work with valid support.  Other then that I will make the Mac RAM tests and also the hard disk for physical and not defects only tests that preforms disk utility which does not actually test the trays by sector at the block level.  Other then making sure the Mac hardware out very well then uninstall/reinstall of Fusion is the only other suggestion I have for the moment.

• Windows backup ends abnormally - cannot lock the ESP partition

  I've been running Windows backup successfully, including by creating an image of the system, a few months, but now it will not create the system image.  It is said that he cannot get a lock on the ESP partition  I spoke to Microsoft Technical Support and disabled all services to start at the start, with the exception of the antivirus, and it worked once, but still doesn't work.  It does not mean that if I stop, anti-virus, or even other services.

  I managed to solve my problem.  The problem was Trusteer Raport endpoint protection IBM System.  I discovered how to stop, (there is a program on the start menu to start and stop it) and then I can stop the service in the background.  I can then run the backup OK.

  Check if you have the LD_PRELOAD library libjsig.so in the envFile (default default.env)

  We know not if you use linux x 32 or x 64 bit then here is an example for each distribution:

  Linux 32:

  LD_PRELOAD = /jdk/jre/lib/i386/libjsig.so ($ORACLE_HOME)

  Linux 64

  LD_PRELOAD_64 = /jdk/jre/lib/amd64/libjsig.so ($ORACLE_HOME)

  NOTE: $ORACLE_HOME cannot be used in the envFile. ($ORACLE_HOME) must be replaced by the name of full path as in the example below:

  I just bought a NB100-12 has.

  Installation and every few hours since it starts a process "Install Bluetooth driver" that opens a dialog box that says "Please plug in the bluetooth device and click on the OK button" if I click OK the message again in a minute. If I click Cancel, the Setup program ends abnormally and then restarts a few hours later.
  I can't tell if the NB100-12 has built-in bluetooth (although the packaging says it does) and if so how to activate it. Is it a software error, or if the bluetooth device is defective. Is it possible to test the bluetooth function?

• Virtual memory problem?

  I run Vista 32 bit on a Dell laptop (Core 2 Duo T8300 2.40 GHz with 4 GB of RAM installed to)
  On a laptop earlier under XP, I have improved performance with virtual memory on a form different disk with the operating system.
  So, I tried to use the same option on my Vista laptop.

  I have the following problems / symptoms:

  (1) SearchIndexer.exe continously uses 50 to 70% of CPU (but it doesn't seem to be the disk activity hard anycontinueous)

  (2) Microsoft Outlook 2007 does not start. I just get the blue white screen with the yellow tone of Outlook 2007, and then he hangs up. One is to close to complete the process via the Task Manager
  The next time I try to start, it displays the option to start in safe mode. If I do, Outlook 2007 starts OK (I do not know what to do with Outlook in safe mode to correct things if :-()

  (3) IE8 starts and seems to operate normally (though slower). However, whenever I restart IE8 it displys the warning that IE8 last time ended abnormally and provides options to start with the last URL used either with normal start page

  Trying to catch exactly what I have done and in what order, I'm not really sure that Outlook was closed when I changed the location of the virtual memory to 100%.

  It should not. In fact, I would recommend keeping the virtual memory (swap file) on the HDD main and just allowing advanced performance of the drive in the Device Manager.

  You can go to Device Manager, expand the category of 'Hard drives', right-click you primary hard drive > properties, click the 'Policies' tab and select 'Advanced Performance' at the bottom.

  The deactivation of the service should not affect your other programs unless they use the Windows Service of Indexer to search for things. As for example, Outlook uses the indexer to allow you to quickly search through your mail. The key word is quickly. Outlook can return to the default search is slower, but really what the majority of users have been used anyway.

  Can you be more specific as to what 'crash' means?

  This term generally refers to a situation where a program ends abnormally, usually with a visible error or exception dump core any.

  Most (all?) of us with Alphas is certainly another problem frequently, where the touchscreen unresponsive and the camera seems to be frozen.

  Often this occurs at startup, and you need to reset or reboot several times (4 - 5 times) before you can get it to respond.

  Is your 'crash' simply a case of the unit "locking up" like that? If so, I doubt, that there is nothing you can do to improve the situation, with the exception of waiting for the update.

  I let mine all the time now (connected) simply to reduce the probability of what happens, even if I am not sure it helps.

  DIRT runs as two different accounts. folders are created with whatever account is connected to the machine. the SQL database dump is executed with the Local SQL service account. This account does not have the right to use the UNC path.

  To work around this use the two step backup SQL and specify a temporary location on the local drive. Once the DIRT has been made it will remove the temporary SQL file it creates.
