  In my labview project the MainVI contains about 20 subVIs. My goal is that by clicking on a button on the Panel before the main VI I would open a special Subvi (assuming it to be sub - VI, 10). To do this in the labview development environment, I used a reference of openVI with its path of entry is the name of the VI vi I want to throw (Subvi 10), and then set a real constant on the front panel to bring up the control panel front of the Subvi.   Have you tried to use static references VI instead of using 'VI open' with a file path?  With a static reference VI, the compiler has a better idea on what you are trying to accomplish during the execution.

  I did it in before executables without any problem.  Personally, I like having a Boolean input of the Subvi, called "Display window" (or something like that) and then have the Subvi manage how it wants to open (or close) front panel.

  It is within the Subvi (which my main VI is still running).  The Subvi has a static reference to himself.  I have a button on the front of my VI main panel when you press on sends a 'true' to Boolean entry "display window.  The Subvi responds by opening the front panel upward. The opposite happens when the button is pressed.

  This code was compiled in many executables and works without any problem.

  I have an application that runs on a PXI RT system and I use the remote control to access. My license allows me to have several remote connections and it's ok that I sometimes need to open several remote panels at the same time.  However, I would like to limit the number of connections for a particular VI 1.  Is this something that can be done?

  The way it can be done is to interview customers who are connected to the VI through a remote façade.  When you do that, you close the connection to anyone, but the first person who connected to the façade.  In this way, if someone is running the VI, no one else can connect.  Once they are made, someone else can then connect to the remote façade.  I created an example illistrates community this behavior.  You can find it here:

  I use the idea in the link as a way to password protect a remote control. However, there is a problem. Once a user logs on, if a second user logs on while the first user is connected, the second user automatically gets access without having to log in. Do any have ideas to force the second (and other additional users) to log on before they can get access?

  OOOOO, look at what I found.

  Try to configure the VI as reentrante and then see what happens when many people attempt to connect. I didn't know that this was possible with remote panels. This looks like exactly what you need (unless you want the screens for all the game once they connect...)

  This can happen if you have set as the web browser home page www.microsoft.com . Whenever the browser is trying to connect to the Microsoft server, you will see a large number of established connections. But in the description of the problem, you mentioned that you see these connections when the web browser is not open. This leads to some confusion.   Is there a way to make this feature work? Current routers support same Easy Connect? I tried three routers - Linksys WRT54GS v6; D - Link DIR615 revC (new); D - Link (new) DIR628 - get always a failure to connect to bla peer name, blah, blah. I'm short on money and time running routers purchases. Even through Messenger Remote Assistance fails systematically. There must be a kind of router arcane and configurations Windows MS is kept secret. I had to go with TeamViewer in order to establish a connection with two different people. I prefer to use the native Windows tool instead, but it seems to be irretrievably broken.

  UPnP is active. Allowed in Win Firewall remote assistance. Port 3389 is forwarded.

  Well, Yes and Yes, to answer my own questions. After finding that my Win7 laptop will begin the Easy Connect process successfully, I have determined to dig around and look at the differences in configuration between her and my capricious office.

  Network and sharing Center > change advanced sharing options (the left pane) > Public > public folders sharing - on the mobile turn on sharing so anyone... has been verified. On my desktop, turn off public folder sharing has been verified at the place. After you change this a parameter on the desktop, as magically easy Connect started working - my office is now the "peer-to-peer" network when try the Easy Connect option. I was easily able to use my laptop to "ask" the help of RA of my office via Easy Connect and vice versa. Would work before. I could not try a RA session to another computer across the net and behind his own router yet, but I suspect it will work now as the other computer and router are the appropriate settings.

  Edit: And I can tell that a D-Link DIR628 works with Easy Connect, so most of the others probably do, as D-Link is not something special.

  I am running Oracle 11 g on Windows Server 2008R2. I have a client (Zabbix) application running elsewhere who try to connect to it.
  
  The client computer has:
  
  * oracle - instantclient11.2 - basic - 11.2.0.3.0 - 1.i386.rpm
  * oracle - instantclient11.2 - devel - 11.2.0.3.0 - 1.i386.rpm
  
  And as such, it has no files tnsnames.ora or sqlnet.ora. He tries to establish a connection with the direct addressing. With a print in the php statement, I see that he calls

  above may result from the DB ' running out of available slots / session process.
  This may result when the application starts a new session for each single SQL issued.
  From V10, Oracle has attempted to increase the capacity of the listener.
  He does this by making the listener of the DB query to find out how many sessions, the DB's & can handle.
  Then as a listener to make new connection requests, listener increments a counter indicating how many sessions are in the bosom of the DB.
  When MAX sessions is reached, listener error to customer requesting a connection.
  Once per minute when DB registers itself with the listener, the listener gets a count of the current session.
  which results in a new request connections succeeding until the MAX session limit is found, again.

  If the application uses connection pooling, these errors are avoided.

  I updated my application PXI time real LabVIEW 2009 (Pro) and I'm now trying to connect with planels remote.  I can only have a remote panel open.  The other gives me the "connecting remote panels exceeds maximum number of licenses" the problem has not been captured in LabVIEW 8.5 and I have the remote license (unlimited) panel is activated in the License Manager.

• Linear actuator, motor controller and labview. Establishing a connection.

  Overview:
  I have a 12VDC linear actuator (potentiometer built in) connected to the and 21v3 Jrk USB motor with Feedback Controller (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1392). Feedback from the actuator wires connect to the motor controller motor USB controller connects to the computer via USB.

  Problem:
  Establish the connection between the motor controller and labview.

  What I've done so far:

  I installed the drivers for the motor controller and windows detects it. OR MAX detects my motor controller (photo attached), but for some reason when I try to access it via the daq assistant in labview is not see it. I tried also access it through VISA with no result...

  Help will be appreciated.

  You have some things you have to look in:

  • When you have installed the software, he was installing a USB > dll Com Port virtual as FTDIchip or similar? If so, when connect you your device, it will reveal itself as a normal COM (new) Port in Device Manager. You then try to talk to this COM port.
  • If you try to use the USB native on the map (as MAX has detected for you), then you will need to use the code in the .NET framework provided by the manufacturer (probably written in c#) and do your own builders in LabVIEW. If you have never done this before, it's not trivial.

  I would call the manufacturer and just tell them what you're trying to do. They have probably treated before LabVIEW and can have an example to help you get started.

  Edit: for fun, I followed the link you provided (which doesn't really). I searched "LabVIEW" of their site and indeed has achieved several successes. There is one thing that I downloaded (can't resist looking at code) was a gigantic turd. However, it doesn't use a standard Com port.

  I have a server and two clients connected to the server through remote façade. I want to reduce the waiting time to the order of a customer to another. I changed the "time limit command" field in web server under Labview options. When a client request time-out control starts correctly (I see the situation since the remote control panel Connection Manager) but when he finished 1: contdown restarts it.   In the end I managed to handle the problem.

  Play with the nodes of property I noticed that control release property do not work with the VI in a project if a customer has control, indeed the property work if the server has the control. Fortunately, lock control property works on the side of client (giving property the control on the server).

  With the Vi simple attached, I look at if a client has requested control and in this case, the server hangs and unlock the control so the customer waiting eventualy receive control.

• Remote panels - Situation of the Client crashes

  I would like to ask if someone can help me with the following situation.

  I have an application that has several other dialog boxes live and a high level VI this app is accessible by a remote client via remote panels. The highest level VI (contains the menu - structure of loop and event) the customer selects what he wants to run. Then, the front of his choice opens on his computer. Everything works ok.

  However, if the client computer suddenly loses internet connectivity, then the runtime indicate a crash of the plugin in the browser.

  On server side, all open applications appear to freeze. I can disable them one by one and then stop everything and try again.

  Could someone let me know how to address this issue? I wish that the customer, in the case where an accident occurs, to be able to reconnect to the application.

  The reason why you get this error is that you try to close a connection that is already closed by the server. You can add a simple error handler after your block of proximity with the Client , who must take care of the pop-up. There is possibility to ignore this error (or other). This knowledge base article does a great job explaining how.
