  I have a server ESXi 4.0 on a four-core AMD machine. I'm trying to start a win XP VM using an ISO image (which I already downloaded to the data store on the server using the VSphere client).

  The option, during startup, allows to manually select the CD player (that would be the ISO image)... Also, make sure that the cd/dvd drive is on "sign in to turn on. If the MV is running, you can also select / the checkbox 'connected '. If you have not configured to connect to turn on, then it will never see the drive, then you will not be able to boot from the ISO file...

  Done a lot of research but have no solution. Connected to my esx Server 3.5 Vista with customer infrastructure 2.5, created a new machine and then it booted up and logged the cd/dvd drive of client (vista machine).

  If I try to use Passthrough, I get a VM error saying I need to enable the legacy mode. If I change the emulation drive (do not see an option of legacy mode, all), the machine does not take into account my drive and trying to perform a PXE boot.

  Any ideas how I can get this to work? He has in the past of this machine, but now I'm just bashing my head against the wall.

  I really found the "client" machine of work particular during the installation of an operating system.  What you might consider if you are in a position makes one.   I'm trying to boot and install from an image ISO of Windows 95 file that I created from the original CD.  VM Ware Workstation 7 continues to try to boot from the network even if I have the boot order in the BIOS configured to boot from the CD - that didn't work.  And if it is set to boot from an iso file it will automatically launch that file instead of looking for a MAC address in an infinite loop on the network.  How can I solve this problem with my boot?

  I am facing a problem with 1 ESXi hosts. All other hosts are working properly.

  All hosts are managed by vCenter 5.1 VM. When I select this problematic host in vCenter and click on the virtual computers tab, it does not display anything other than a blank page. Then, it throws an error saying that the object has been deleted or has not completely created. The screenshot of the error popup is attached.

  However, if I connect directly to the host through the VI client, it does not throw the error and I can see the virtual machines it. If I have vmotion the vms during this host, I do not see these virtual machines via vcenter but I connect directly to the host and I can see the virtual machines. They work very well.

  What could be the cause of this problem.
